Is this really the end of March? My birthday is today and I don't have much planned other than going out to dinner with family. And seeing my niece who I don't see that often. Hopefully I'll get some book time in too. :) Otherwise it's been a good week. I posted my second Movies That Suck post this past week- featuring Maximum Overdrive. A truly bad movie, let me just say...

Reading was decent this week, I finished up The French Girl and also Diamond Girl, the new Julie Mulhern short that is part of the Country Club Murders. And this week Movies That Suck will be... Tremors!

Last week I reviewed Obsidio and did a discussion post on movie tie- in covers.

  7. Happy birthday!! Tremors... LOL. I loved that movie, too. Feel free to include how much Reba sucked in that, though. :)

  8. Happy Birthday Greg! Mine is next month.

Tremors should be a fun one. Although I really liked the first one but the sequels gradually delve into more bad territory as they go on.

  10. Ok, I will give you this one. The whole Tremors franchise is just cheesy. But I still watched all the movies. Looking forward to reading what you thought of the movie.

    Happy birthday!!

  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope it's a good one. :D I'm finishing up Obsidio, can't believe it's the end of the series. I'm sure Kristoff and Kaufman will have more magic for us in the future.

Have a wonderful weekend, Greg! =)

  14. I can't wait to read Obsidio. Waiting on the hardcover now! Such a great series and I hope they are made into movies! That stag on the tree is stunning. I once saw a deer on a tree. Took my breath away and wished I'd had a camera.

  15. Yay, I look forward to your discussion of Tremors! That's another "sucky movie that actually rocks" for me. I was terrified of it as a child, but watched it again recently and it was such a shot of nostalgia. I don't know why it frightened me so much when I was younger, it was so off the wall. I had a lot of fun rewatching it again though.

  17. I loved The French Girl and Sunburn.

I adore the Julie Mulhern series, so I guess I need to read the short.

Great images, too. Enjoy the week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  21. Happy Birthday, Greg!

I remember that scene from the book of A New Hope! I always wondered why it didn't make it into the movie. I kinda get it now ;)

I can't remember, was that the only scene that was in the books but was cut? It's been ages since I last read them.

    Have a great week!

  23. I hope you had a fabulous birthday dinner, and if you went out, I hope you ordered something delicious and expensive. XD Once again, I have not seen this movie that sucked. I am familiar with it though. I mean, Kevin Bacon. I just finished Obsido last night. It was so emotional. Lots of tears, but I was happy with the ending.

  24. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day. I still have to read Gemina...but I don't want my heart to be shattered or get super stressed xD

  25. Happy Birthday!!

You reminded me I'm behind and I still need to read the book before Obsidio. I think I'll get right on that! I DID start it a while back... And may I say that I take great offense in you implying that Tremors is a movie that "sucks". That is movie is one of THE best B movies EVAH!! I first saw it in college and the beauty of Alex P. Keaton's liberal dad being a gun toting nut/survivalist is beyond reproach. No pressure but I'm looking forward to your review :D Happy Easter!!!

  26. Happy Birthday - WHAT a cool day to have as your birthday date! I hope you have a lovely day. Tremors is one of my favourite films - and many thanks for the extract from the old Star Wars movie - Luke before he became an embittered old misery...

  27. Happy Birthday and goodbye March! I had no idea about that deleted scene, thanks for sharing. Enjoy the day.

  47. Idk how it is April, but I am here for it. Though it is supposed to snow here tomorrow, so... maybe it's a prank? Oooh Tremors is new to me, I won't even know any of the ridiculous clips like the last two! Intrigued! I want to go to the Space Bar. That is probably where Monty sells his moonshine. The Sea Station one is so peaceful looking, too!

  58. Happy birthday again! 🎂

Flock of Seagulls always makes me think of the beach, not because of seagulls, though, ha ha ha ha, that just dawned on me. 😂

I liked Temors, ha ha. I think there was a sequel I never saw. 😁

The Sea Train image reminds me of a scene in the anime movie Spirited Away. I love that movie. 💜

    Have a wonderful week. ☺
