Sunday Post #188

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

I keep waiting for the nice weather. It's April and it's only been in the 50's - need sunshine too. It's been a busy week around here. I discussed my addiction to all the internet things and also reviewed The Wanderers, and I managed to get a few show recaps up as well. Top Ten Tuesday was about authors we've met or would like to meet and that was kinda fun. Oh and a cat anecdote. I was driving through the neighborhood and saw an orange cat on top of a white Jeep. I wish I would have got a pic, it doesn't sound like much I know but it was just an amazing visual. I've seen this cat around, it belongs to one of the neighbors, but it had just climbed up on somebody's car and was hanging out.

Today is my birthday (Friday) and I had a pretty good day! I bought myself some books to celebrate lol. I've been picking up a few books that I need in physical form- you know, books that I read the e- version and decided I need for the shelf. Other than that not much planned for the weekend. Big Little Lies finishes up this week and Riverdale and The 100 are humming along. Oh and Iron Fist was a major disappointment on Netflix.

Last week I reviewed The Wanderers and Distress Signals. Both were good although Signals had some problems. This week I'll be reviewing Starfall and maybe Queens of Geek- that one will be up next week if I don't get it this week.

I need to get outside. I am so pumped about the BLL finale. I wonder if they will hold true to the book. Can't wait for your recap!! Have a great week!

  10. Our weather here has suddenly turned a lot cooler - seemingly overnight on the last day of March! It's pretty welcome though but I can definitely wait before I have to rug up in Winter clothes! Although our winter is far more mild than most!

Happy belated birthday! Books to celebrate are always fantastic and I hope you picked some good ones!

The bonfire art pic is probably my favourite! Thanks for always finding some great visuals for us week after week!

  12. Oh, happy belated birthday! Buying yourself books is the perfect way to celebrate if you ask me :-D

Ok, now I really do want to see a picture of the cat on the jeep. Sometimes the simplest things can make the most interesting or pretty photos.

Looking forward to your review of Starfall. I almost decided to start that one today, just to get the duology finished, but I wasn't quite in the right mood.

That bonfire picture is nice. I like how it draws your eye straight to it, and combined with the song you shared it feels very chill looking at it lol.

    1. Thank you! I agree- books are always good. :P And I really wish I would have gotten that picture- it was just such a sight.

Starfall's okay, I give it a mediocre review (I mean, it's not bad) but not mind- blowing. The Long Way books are better.

I agree, love that bonfire pic! I always like a good bonfire, and I hadn't thought of that but yeah Sade's song goes well with it.

  23. Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a nice day.

I look forward to your review of Starfall. I still haven't read it but hope to get around to it before it is due back to the library.

I didn't realize there was a new episode of Riverdale this week. Oops! I usually watch with the CW app on Roku. I am behind on my shows at the moment. The last episode of Big Little Lies looks like it will be good. I'm thinking of restarting my HBONow membership so I can watch the rest of the series and then catch The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks later this month.

I love the LOTR illustrations. My evening book group is reading The Hobbit this month and I'm looking forward to rereading it.

Hope you have a great week!
