Sunday Post #189

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It's been raining pretty much all week. There were a couple nights when I opened the window just to hear the rain falling down- I love it when it rains at night and there's a light mist. It's still cool at night and you can smell the rain and the breeze comes in- the cats like it. But the sun is out as I'm writing this so maybe good weather is on the way. It's been a good week for reading. I've been reading Radio Silence for the last few days and am loving it.

Big Littles Lies finished up last Sunday- quite the end. I recapped it if you're interested and also had a Game of Thrones discussion and a Top Ten Fandoms. That was a fun post. I'll be catching up on my Riverdale reviews on Monday and my discussion this week will be... well, I don't know yet. But I have time right??!?

Last week I reviewed Starfall and Queens of Geek is this week. Radio Silence is coming up after that.

  2. I think I'd like to move into Bag End. It looks like my kind of accomodation! It's been cold all week but the forecast is now for some kind of heatwave. I've got no idea what the weather is going to do next which makes it impossible to plan anything...

  3. Looking forward to your review of I Found You :)
And I REALLY need to watch Big Little Lies, it looks AMAZING!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Greg :)

  4. We hit a record 90 degrees three days in a row - then 6 inches of rain and now 70's. Wacky spring weather! But it's nice enough to sit and read outside for the weekend so I'll take advantage of that.

Looking forward to your Queens of Geek review. I read/reviewed it last month.

    1. 90? Wow we're nowhere close to that yet. But yeah the weather has been wacky... I do like reading outside though when it gets warm enough.

I'll have to come over and find your Queens of geek review. I like seeing what other people think... :)

  7. I love hearing the rain at night too. We got a little bit of rain last night, but not too much. I have a feeling the sun is here to stay for awhile now. I hope the sun will stay with you awhile as well!

I Found You caught my eye. I am looking forward to reading it. I am glad you are enjoying Radio Silence. Love the cover of that one.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Greg.

I love that cover of Radio Silence too, just conveys the idea of driving somewhere at night. Not really indicative of the book lol, but still... like the cover. And it was an awesome read! Looking forward to I Found You as well.

  8. Radio Silence is definitely on my to buy list. I don't know if it's available yet at my bookstore.

I, too, love the rain. I even love storms. I love the smell and the exciting possibility that the power might go out depending on how strong the storm is. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  9. We had rain and even a bit of snow this past week but I was so happy to see the sun today and it's supposed to be beautiful tomorrow. Hope you get some warm, sunny weather this week too!

I will have to check out your review of Starfall. Still haven't read that though I loved Starflight.

I love that map of the Shire! I want to live in a hobbit house like Bag End though it might be a challenge to have round walls. I just like the cozy feel of it and I'm basically a Hobbit sized person (if I drank some Ent draught).

    Have a great week!

I have saved all the episodes of Big Little Lie, and despite having seen all the episodes, I plan to binge-watch the whole thing...

More great images! Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

  11. We've had nice and sunny for the past week, and that's been really nice. It's still cool enough at night that mornings are all misty and mysterious, too :)
Love your song of the week - it's very down-to earth and beautiful.

  12. It has been raining the past couple of days for me as well, which is quite odd considering that it's April. But it sounds like we are getting the opposite. It's raining during the night for you, and during the day for me. Have a good week, and happy reading! :)

    1. You too. We got rain all day for almost a week, but finally it's nice out. :)

  13. Yeah, rain at night is nice. It's a soothing sound as long as there's no thunder, and sometimes I just like to go outside for a bit (under cover---I actually do love being in the rain, but then I'd have to dry off and change and that's not worth it lol).

Glad you're enjoying Radio Silence! And I love that last picture. It's so beautiful, not just the artwork but the idea behind it.

    1. I love rain at night. Hearing it on the roof and the wind blowing. And I like to be outside in it too (preferably not a downpour) but it has a mystique.

Radio Silence was great, and I agree like a quiet moment in the city.

  21. We had some rain this week as a big storm blew through. It washed out most of my yard but the plants look better for it. It's cold again now, though.

  23. We've had a bit of rain as well this week. But still need bucket loads. Maybe that's why I don't read as much as I used to. There's not enough rainy days!

I like the cover of Missing and sometimes those one word titles just grab your attention.

Still haven't started with Big Little Lies. I will. I will.

  32. I like the smell of rain, but I do prefer rain when I don't have to go outside. We had a beautiful sunny week this week and we even went outside for a short walk today, the sunny weather was perfect for that. I think we're getting rain next week.

Starfall and Queen of Geeks both sound good. I'll have to stop by your reviews for those. I have a copy of Starflight, but haven't read it yet.

I just got an e-mail my copy of Missing is on it's way here, I am curious about that one. I hope you'll enjoy Missing. Have a great week!

  39. I love listening to rain at night. Only at night. I don't want to have to go out in it. My youngest dogs is scared of storms so I no longer appreciate those since it causes all kinds of chaos at my house. Have a great week!

  40. Ah, I love when it rains at night- not storms though, just rain. It rained a lot here too this week, but apparently tomorrow it is supposed to be 80 so... in went my air conditioner. I don't have time for trying to sleep in that kind of weather ;) I really should read Big Little Lies so I can watch it. And I will be starting Riverdale after The 100 (well, and then probably a mourning period rewatch, let's be real) so I can catch up on that too!

I have heard such great things about Radio Silence too, I am going to have to add that one to my wishlist. I love the Shire map, it is gorgeous! I love the Dear Diary picture too- the colors are just so perfect to capture the feeling! Thanks for sharing these :)

  47. I love "Dream," it's such an awesome piece. Glad you like "Big Little Lies." I still need to read the book before I watch it. I've been watching "13 Reasons Why" and we finished watching "The Get Down" last night. The first part was so much better in my opinion. We had warmed weather over the weekend as well which was really nice. Before that we had several days of colder weather and temps which made me think of fall and winter again. Hope you have a great reading week.
