Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag

screen-shot-2018-09-17-at-10-17-49-pm

I was tagged by Andreea at Cheeky Lines (thanks Andreea!!) and this looked like a blast so I couldn't resist. Who doesn't like creatures? Am I right? This tag was created by Anthony at Keep Reading Forward.

The rules:

1) Answer all prompts

2) Answer honestly

3) Tag 1-13 people

4) Link back to this post

5) Remember to credit the creator. Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward

6) Have fun!

Witch
a magical character or book

The Voyage of the “Dawn Treader” (The Chronicles of Narnia, #3)

I love the cover

Werewolf
the perfect book to read at night

Contagion (Contagion, #1)

You might want to keep the light on for this one!

Frankenstein
a book that truly shocked you

Before Mars (Planetfall, #3)

This one had a twist I didn't see coming.

Grim Reaper
a character that should never have died

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

Clearly Ned Stark.

Zombie
a book that made you "hungry" for more

This is Not a Test (This is Not a Test #1)

I needed more.

Gargoyle
a character that you would protect at all cost

A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5)

Arya Stark.

Vampire
a book that sucked the life out of you

Blackfish City

Man, I had a hard time finishing this one.

Skeleton
a character you have a bone to pick with

The Woman in the Window

Anna needs to mix her pills and booze less.

Mummy
a book you would preserve throughout time

Planet of Exile

This one's just a nostalgic fave.

Creepy Doll
a cover too scary to look at

What We Buried

Not really scary, but I don't know- seems kind of freaky?

  1. I like creatures! Lol. I thought this would be that tag where you share books with the creatures, but this is creative!

Psh, what's the fun of reading at night if you're gonna keep the lights on ;-) (says the person who is too scared to read horror)

Ooh, I'm curious about the twist in Before Mars. I think Hoopla has that audiobook. I might try it at some point.

    1. I do too, I felt a little weird not picking creatures so much! I should do your tag too so I can. :)

And haha right? It's GOOD to be scared!

Before Mars was nicely creepy at times...

  2. This seems like a fun tag. I haven't read any of these books but I am a huge Game of Thrones fan so I could definitely agree with your answers. I too wish Ned Stark never died. And yes to saving Arya. She is amazing.

  4. I remember doing this one last year. Yes, Ned should have lived! Would have changed the whole series huh? That is definitely one creepy cover. Now you have me curious about the twist in Before Mars.

  5. What a great tag! Totally agree with you on Anna. Less boos and pills!

  6. This is so much fun! I need to steal this and do my own post. I'm going to see if I can fit it in this week. You always have the best books with the best covers to share!

  7. Haha, yes, the GoT world would be a lot different if Ned hadn’t died. I’m posting this tag on Thursday. It was a lot of fun.

  8. Did you read Please Remain Calm - the sequel (I think it's just a novella though) to This is Not a Test? It's BRUTAL

  9. The cover to 'What We Buried' definitely creeps me out. It's very well designed that's for sure! I like dark, but I'm not a big fan of scary :)

    1. I'm the same way- I like dark but not TOO dark! And that is a creepy cover!

  10. Great choices for the tags, and I spotted a couple of books I've read. The cover art for What We Buried is definitely unsettling.

  11. Great list! But I have to admit, while I don't like it, I do think Ned Stark should have died. It was the catalyst for so much of the series, it just wouldn't have been the same with him in it. I do think Cat should have stayed dead though :D

  12. Oh man. The cover for the last book is most certainly creepy. So curious about Contagion. I love books in that theme!

  13. Arya Stark is my favorite!! <3 I think if Martin killed her off he would have to deal with a lot of really really really really angry fans!

  14. I've been meaning to read This is Not a Test for yearsssss. I also need to read Contagion!

  15. Fun! I love the books you chose to go along with each Halloween creature.
(And I loved This is Not A Test, too.)

  18. I agree with Blackfish City of course. And seriously, why did This Is Not a Test (and whatever the novella sequel thing was called) end so... abruptly? Rude. WHat We Buried does have a really creepy cover. I do not like it. Where is her face? No thank you. I do want to read it though, it looks good! And Contagion definitely made me not want to go into space, that's for sure! I read it on a plane, I do wonder if it'd be different had I not been among a ton of people? Such a fun tag!

  19. What a fun post. I haven't read any of the books you mentioned, but Contagion sounds like a good one.

  20. What We Buried looks like the Fembots (spelling ?) from some '70s show I can't remember now. Was it the Bionic Woman? But, yes, creepy! One of the reasons I didn't pick up The Woman in the Window is because I heard the main character was a hot mess. I hate reading about characters in such a destructive bend. Contagion is one I haven't heard of, but I'm in the mood for something scary! Great tag! :)

  22. Perfect Halloween tag! I love it. And some interesting answers for some of the prompts. I agree with Arya, although I've not got too far into the GoT books (I'm on the third) I adore Arya and would totally protect her at all costs. And thanks for the tag, I was thinking I needed a good Halloween tag to kick my butt back into blogging. This will be done!

  23. I really REALLY want to read Before Mars, and the Le Guin book, too. Thanks for the tag! 🎃

  24. The cover for Blackfish City looked so great so it's a shame it didn't live up to it! Contagion is one my tbr. There are a few I didn't want to die in Game of Thrones-the books and the series!
