Sunday Post #187

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Well the big news this week was... my internet went down. For three days. I tried some things, plugged and unplugged, talked to Tech support... no dice. Then on Monday it came back up after my second call in and we did some more rebooting. Who knows? It got me thinking though- just how dependent on the internet am I? Apparently quite a bit.

Otherwise a pretty good week. It feels like March now with (slightly) warmer temps, but the big thing was- sun. Hey sun- missed you for the last few months! I read a ton while I was down so that at least was something. And I'm still watching Big Little Lies and Riverdale. Oh and Iron Fist. Speaking of- here's the GIF of the week. When Ward Meachum discovers he's being surveilled- in his own office.

So The Wanderers was pretty good, Starfall wasn't bad and The Winter Over was chilling (!) I reviewed that one last week and this week is Distress Signals. The reviews for Wanderers, Starfall and Queens of Geek are on the way.

  4. Everyone I talk to is on the Internet so when it goes down I feel a bit lonely! *sniffs* Glad you got it running again in the end. Imagine what we would all do if an apocalypse wiped out the power grid and we lose all electrical stuff...actually I imagine it all the time as I'm twisted that way!

    1. Yeah it's amazing how dependent I realized I was. And same here! I talk more on the internet now than I do to real life friends. And I've wondered if power went out... and stayed out. What would we all do? We gotta blog after all!!!

  6. Ugh, I HATE when our internet goes down! Talking to anyone at Comcast is really a test of my patience!

We're still making our way through Iron Fist, too - it's a good addition to the Marvel series!

    1. Comcast is... not my favorite company to talk to. And this was a pain!

Did you end up liking Iron Fit? I just finished it and thought it was okay...

I'm finally reading Starfall soon! So excited - it feels like it's been a long time coming. I hope you have a great week!

  13. Seriously, internet is such a big part of our lives now, I don't even know what to do when mine is down for 3 hours let alone 3 days! I am glad it is working again thougH! Sad that Starfall was only not bad though- I was hoping it would have been better. Especially with the cover! Very curious about Wanderers and Queens of Geek, too! I may need to add Humans to my list of things to watch when The 100 is over for the season, along with Riverdale!

    1. I know! It's everything! I do ha ha. It better not go down when The 100 is on lol. I'm not tolerating that shit. :)

Starfall was just OK but it wasn't BAD. If you like Starflight it's a worthy successor I guess. I wish I could be more enthusiastic. The Wanderers on the other hand I liked! YA shapeshifter circus stuff, I know that could sound iffy. But I liked!

      Humans is a trip!

  14. I feel your pain, Greg! The panic that sets in when the internet is down here . . . And only after an hour or two for me. It's bad. Sometimes I think I need to step back. I really have come to depend on it a lot. Too much. I am glad your internet is back up and working again.

Love the artwork you shared this week. I wish I could lose myself in a couple of those scenes.

Have a great week, Greg. I hope the sun continues to shine for you.

  31. Losing the internet sucks! It is surprising, and a little worrying, just how reliant we are on it. Just like cell phones! Makes me afraid to think what would happen if an EMP went off! Glad to hear your internet is up and running again.

Humans looks interesting. One of the cast was a regular on another series I've been binge watching: Doc Martin. She's not on there anymore. I've only watched two episodes of Big Little Lies, so I need to catch up.

    1. It was not fun. :) I kept wanting to get online and do things and was like, oh yeah. It's down. Although at least it was only three days- they initially told me FIVE.

Humans is really good, especially the second season which just showed on AMC here. And I've watched a little Doc Martin- I love those Brit shows. Big Little Lies I've been enjoying. :)

  32. Oh, I hate when anything goes down: TV, Internet, etc. Those calls to Tech Support can go either way. Helpful...or frustrating. Last time I got someone really helpful, and took notes on how to reboot the modem myself. I reboot the TV receivers regularly, as we lose the signal often enough that I want to avoid those calls. Time to change providers?

I am loving Big Little Lies, too, and I'm saving it all on my DVR...so I can watch it again from the beginning.

    Great visuals...and music.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
