Bookcover Spotlight

Pirates of Venus (Venus, #1)

This is an atmospheric cover. The Venus books by Edgar Rice Burroughs are not great literature, and I don't think this series is good as his John Carter of Mars books, but they did have some good covers at times. This one just puts me in mind of storm- tossed seas on an alien world, an exotic city in the distance (lower right corner), and of course the bird men are kinda cool looking.

  1. Some of the old covers are so fun to see again, Greg. I like a lot of Baen Publishing covers because they have that old-time feel.

  3. Hi, Cait! *waves to my buddy Cait* I love this style of cover. I have the first six Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever books from years and years ago, and they are a similar style. I treasure them. :)

  4. I've been loving the warmer weather too! I only like snow in VERY short spurts - I like it to snow a foot or more (so the kids can play in it) and then melt the next day. :-)
