Cover Characteristic #8

Cover Characteristics is a meme by Sugar and Snark- every week a characteristic is selected and we post 5 books with that week's theme.

This week's theme- Sharks

JawsRed Rackham's Treasure (Tintin, #12)Sharcano (Sharkpocalypse Trilogy, #1)
Jaws 2Sharks and People: Exploring Our Relationship with the Most Feared Fish in the Sea

I wouldn't want to be the guy in the kayak. I think this one is my favorite, although I kinda like How to Survive A Sharknado- who doesn't need a survival manual for that? Jaws is the obvious one, of course, but it's a classic. But I'll go with Sharks & People- I just like that cover.

  1. And that is one of the many many reasons why ocean kayaking always seemed like a really bad idea! The bathing suit is definitely interesting! Great job on these covers. I'm not sure I could've come up with any shark covers other than Jaws.

    1. I know! So much for a nice peaceful kayak. How would you like to turn around and see THAT following? No thanks! This week was an interesting one- there are some rather unique shark covers, to say the least!

  2. Oh my goodness, hahaha. I did not know there was also a Sharcano. What on earth is up with this shark stuff?! And seriously, I *would* need a manual if a Sharknado ever hit because, well, how DO you survive sharks crashing through your windows?

I agree with your favorite because it looks all peaceful, but then GIANT SHARK. I wouldn't want to be that guy in the kayak either. Though maybe the book is about how sharks really aren't that bad and just have a bad rep? In that case, he's totally safe. Maybe.

    1. Exactly. Sharknado survival is very important. :)

Yes about GIANT SHARK. :) It's bigger than the kayak- and that guy is way too far from land. It probably is one of those "sharks aren't so bad" books, but I'm not buying it if I'm that close... I'm sure they're very nice as long as you don't tip over.

    2. I just came across this randomly and had to share it with you because seriously, what is going on, haha. You know about Sharknado and Sharcano, but did you know about... Avalanche Sharks?! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2622826/ Lol. What natural disaster can we mix with sharks next? Sharkicane? Sharkquake?

    3. Ha that's awesome! Avalanche Sharks? They're just reaching now... still, someone's watching this stuff! There's been like 3 Sharknados hasn't there?

I kinda like Sharkicane. How about Blizzshark? It's not just snow anymore... I know, that's bad.

Now you got me wanting to look up shark stuff... :)

  3. I am pretty sure my little brother got me the Sharknado book for Christmas and I am looking forward to reading it! I quite like the Jaws 2 one - that woman looks way too casual for someone being chased by a giant shark!

    1. I agree- does she know it's there? And it's fairly large...She's all like "look- one hand". Um, that's the least of your problems LOL.
