Sunday Post #121

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This has been a good week, temps were in the 50's and it doesn't feel like December at all. Not complaining though. Reading seems to have taken a back seat to binge watching, which has been the case for the last several weeks. I've been watching Flash on Netflix, it took me a while to get into it but around the middle of the season it took off for me. I might like it more than Arrow now, which surprises me, we'll see how it ends. The 100 also returns in January and Dark Matter S2 has begun filming.

Next week I'll have another Cover Characteristics along with Top Ten Tuesday and some other stuff. I'm also reviewing an Iron Fist graphic novel, and I'm excited about this one as Netflix is developing a show based on it.

Because Reading shares her Holiday Tradition and a Book feature with a guest post by Random Redheaded Ramblings. Great post!

Books of Amber, Lady Knight Reads and The Overstuffed Bookcase are hosting a rewatch of The 100. The event is already underway and runs until Jan. 21- which is when S3 premieres. They're watching about 3 episodes a week plus a livewatch on Twitter. The 100 is available on Netflix and you can go here for all the info

  1. I've been watching more TV than reading lately. I think my brain is tired! Sounds like you've got a lot of great shows going! The Kate Parker series is just taunting me. I haven't even gotten the first one yet! Have a great week!

    1. I'm just sorta taking a break from reading this month, so much going on. I'm getting to a little here and there, but I haven't finished a book in over a week. :)

The Kate Parker book I tried to get at B&N today and it was print on demand, not in stock- so I'm just going to get the e- version. that one totally snuck up on me, I didn't even know it was out until a week or so ago!

  2. Oh, I want those coasters!

We've had similar weather and I'm loving it. Cold temps, snow, and ice are overrated.:D

The Wanderers looks good, happy reading!

    1. I know, aren't they cool? I love that sound effect. Although it might get old after a while... but still. Those are awesome. And yes, I'll take the mild temps. Kinda nice. :)

  3. You're happy with your 50 degree weather and meanwhile I've decided I need some boot slippers just to survive my 72 degree apartment, haha.

I'll be interested to see your review for The Wanderers since it's on my maybe list!

    1. 72? I'm jealous... it's rainy and cold here (well not as cold as usual, but you know)... still no snow so I can't complain- too much.

The Wanderers I haven't started yet but I hope to this week. I like the premise a lot.

  4. Reading has taken a bit of a backseat for me as well for the same reason. So much great stuff to binge watch.

Can't wait to see your thoughts on the Iron Fist graphic novel. I haven't read anything with that character, my only exposure to him has been through the ultimate spider-man cartoon.

    1. Agreed. I'm hardly reading anything- maybe January will be better! Iron Fist is a cool character, and he's affiliated with the Luke Cage character from Jessica Jones if you've seen that at all.

  5. The warmer weather has been wonderful! I liked going to my Christmas party in just shoes! Do you have your ticket bought for the new Star Wars movie? Quite a few friends have theirs already. I am looking forward to The 100.

    1. Isn't it nice? Loving it- was out today and it felt so nice. I have not tickeys yet for Star Wars- I'll probably wait a few days to see it, let the crowds die down. The 100 should be good- curious where they'll take S3.

  6. Haha! Those coasters. Too funny. Pfft ... it was 56 and sunny here today and I had to bundle up, while everyone else was running in shorts and t-shirts. I must be part reptilian. Have a great week, Greg.

    1. I know! Are those great or what? We had 50's today but it wasn't sunny- and it's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. Woot! It's almost like Indian summer around here. LOL.

  7. Yes, it seems odd that is almost Christmas and it was almost 60s here in New England! but... I won't complain either :)
Still not reading much so lot of TV going on as well :) so maybe I should re-watch the 100 as well :)

  8. When I find a TV show I really like, I love the possibility of binge-watching :) I'm glad you have found some good ones lately, Greg.
We have had balmy temps lately, too, it doesn't feel like Christmas is just a little over ten days away.
    Have a fantastic week ahead.

  9. I have been loving the mild weather. I hate wearing a coat so I have been getting by with a sweater and loving it. I have been watching more TV as well and reading a bit less. I am watching Transparent and also started Jessica Jones which is awesome. Have a great week!!

    1. Me too, this needs to continue. It's warm again today (well, warmer) and I'm getting used to it- when the temps nosedive later this week I'm going to be unhappy! I did like Jessica Jones.

  10. I am behind on my TV watching because of reading so I am backwards...lol. Been big into audios lately which is good but my eARCs are being pushed back, so got to ramp it up some.

I still need to watch season two of 100 on netflix. I love Flash and right now I am a bit mad at ARROW after the winter finale. :(

    Happy reading!

  12. I am currently arguing with my husband about what the new Star Wars movie will be about. I want to know THE synopsis but there's nothing! Cris is like "blah blah blah Jedi Academy blah blah blah guy worships Vader wants to bring his glory back blah blah blah..." I want to know what Luke is doing!! Where is he in all the trailers? And does Leia have her powers? *head explodes*

    I can't wait until Friday!

"Immortals" looks good, btw! Merry Christmas!

    1. I found the whole plot online a few months ago , and assuming it's true it might be interesting- good and bad. All I'll say is Luke might not be in it a lot- I did a post on this a week or so ago if you want to read it, but it's spoilery. I guess we'll know in a few days. :)

I like the look of Immortals too. Hope you have a great Christmas!

  13. I've taken up knitting and crochet as alternative hobbies recently and there has been a LOT more TV watching in the past month than probably the entire last year.

The weather here has been abnormally warm. I fear that means we'll really be paying for it in January/February. The Conspiring Woman looks like a very interesting read. After inspecting my shelves, it might be because I have the first book in the series in my TBR! :)

Hope this week is as good for you as this one sounds like it was!

    1. Same here... I have all these shows now. LOL. I agree, Jan/ Feb might not be good, we'll pay eventually for the nicer weather. :)

  14. I love The Flash and its more optimistic tone. I like season two so far but I think season one is a little better (of course there are still several episodes to go before the season ends in May). I love Arrow as well. I have been watching holiday movies on Netflix and need to catch up on a couple of shows on Hulu this week (midseason finales of Arrow, The Flash and Once Upon a Time).

    Have a great week!

    1. Flash has really grown on me. Early in the season I thought it was kinda silly, but as time went on I got into it. Now I probably like it more than Arrow! The secrets and intrigue really got me curious. :)

I need to get Hulu, it sounds like from your comment that they have the most recnt Flash, arrow etc whereas Netflix doesn't.

    1. I was surprised to see one- and maybe they've grown up from the old creature features I used to see. I did watch Jessica Jones, and highly recommend it- I think you'll like it. It's gritty and not all superhero- ish. Street level but well done.

  18. I love Godzilla movies. Again the poster art is fab. I didn't care for The Wanderers, I hope you have better luck with it. We have been having springlike weather too. I am loving it after the last two never ending and frigid winters we had. I don't care if we don't have a white Christmas this year. Have a wonderful week. :)

I'm enjoying your holida posts, thanks again for doing those! Have a great week!

  25. I'm the opposite now - no TV and more reading. It's because our TV in our bedroom needs to be replaced so I miss being able to lie in bed and enjoy my shows. So now I am so behind I'll just have to wait until they are on Netflix. At first I didn't like Flash (mainly because I was so irritated with Iris). I hope you have a great week!
