Tuesday Tagline #197

The Guest List

You'd kill to be on it

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is authors I've read the most books by. I'm gonna tweak this to just be authors I've read multiple books by, since I don't feel like thinking that hard and honestly, I don't even know offhand who I've read the most by.

City of the Lost (Rockton, #1)

I've read a surprising number of Armstrong's books now, mostly the Rockton series but also a couple standalones.

One of Us is Lying

I seem to be devouring whatever she puts out!

The House on the Cliff (The Hardy Boys, #2)

Franklin Dixon- who was really a bunch of writers for the Stratemeyer group who did the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. Devoured these as a kid!

The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice and Fire, #6)

Martin of course!

Vitro (Corpus, #2)

Jessica Khoury- I've enjoyed everything of hers that I've read.

The Girls in the Garden

Ditto with Lisa Jewell.

Death in the Floating City (Lady Emily, #7)

I read a lot of Alexander's mysteries a few years ago.

Neal Adams 14 Tarzan The Invincible Cover

Edgar Rice Burroughs- I read a TON of his stuff as a kid, mainly the John Carter of Mars and Tarzan stuff.

When the Green Star Calls (Green Star, #2)

Lin Carter! Just like Burroughs, as a kid I read lots of his planetary adventure stories.

  1. You just made me laugh with your list. I went through my shelves and spreadsheet to figure out the numbers. It never occured to me that I could do this TTT the way you obviously did it *lol* Happy reading and stay safe and well!

  2. PS: I've just send you a message, and now it's gone....

  3. Okay - let's try again! I still love the Hardy Boys and still get the kids at school to read it. I haven't read a Lisa Jewel yet and you have been ranting and raving about her books forever. Will need to do something about it.

Can't wait to get my hands on The Guest List!

  4. I read a lot of Kelley Armstrong's books back in the day, especially the Otherworld series.

  5. I was very annoyed that Goodreads removed the ability to search by most read authors! I spent quite a lot of time counting them up myself and no doubt missed off a few that never made it onto Goodreads int he first place!

    Here's my Top Ten Tuesday!

  6. I love the cover of the Lin Carter book, we need to bring that style back in fashion. It's timeless!

  7. Haha, if Martin ever finishes the series, maybe he would make my list!

  8. I’m curious now to who I have read the most, I must have a look!

  9. George Martin and Lisa Jewell are authors I've read alot, but I didn't think about them for my top 10. Huh.

Lucy Foley is listed in my notebook of books to buy. I am on hold at the library for one of her books.

  10. This TTT made me think of childhood reads too! I read tons of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books. I've been meaning to read Kelly Armstrong. Thanks for sharing!

  11. Yeah, Kelley Armstrong has written some good stuff.

    My TTT.

  12. You're making me nostalgic for Nancy Drew😁

  13. Lisa Jewel is on my list, too, this week. I’ve been reading her for years and have loved almost everything I’ve read from her.

  14. I will read every book McManus writes. Love her!

  15. That Tarzan book looks great.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  17. It's so weird - I used to binge read authors all the time but now I tend to bounce around more and almost every one is a new author or I get to a familiar one late after the release.

  18. I didn't do this TTT because it did feel too hard to try and figure out which author I've read the most over the years. I should've done what you did, but oh well... ;D

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think I've only tried the Kelley Armstrong ones

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love the Rockton series! I have no interest in Armstrong's fantasy books, but I do love her mystery/thrillers. I've read a couple good ones by Jewell as well.

    Happy TTT!

  21. I enjoyed the series, but haven't read Martin's books. Been a long time since I read Lin Carter, same for Burroughs. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/07/ttt-070720.html

  22. Did you see that George R.R. Martin said that next year for Winds of Winter?? I will believe it when I see it! :-D

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'd read more books by Martin if he'd just come out with Winds of Winter! I refuse to read any other books of his until he finishes GoT.

One of these days I should try Karen McManus.

  24. Great list! I've really enjoyed Kelley Armstrong's series and need to get back :D

    Here's my Top Ten Tuesday.

  25. i need to get back to Armstrong!

  26. Great list. I still need to read One of Us is Lying!!

    My TTT list!

  27. SAME for Karen M. McManus. I would read anything she wrote.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I used LibraryThing to show me how many books by author I had in my collections there to jog my memory. We don't have any overlap in our lists, but you reminded me I want to read the book that comes after One of Us Is Lying. I think there is a follow-up!?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I started keeping track of my books on Goodread back in 2009 that has really helped me easily get statistics like how many books I've read by certain authors. But now I need to go and back fill for books I read before 2009. Who has the time?

    ReplyDelete
  30. GRRM! I want to bump him up on my list so I need him to hurry up with TWoW please!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I loved The Guest List. Have you read it yet? I can't believe I haven't read a Lisa Jewell book yet considering how many thrillers I've been reading lately!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't think I've read TONS by most authors - except for J.K. Rowling or something. I like your take on the topic!! I need to read more by Karen McManus.

  33. Great line from The Guest List! The story was excellent, btw.

I've read all McManus' books to date. I'll read whatever she comes up with next. Lisa Jewell is usually riveting, but sad when all is said and done. Kelley Armstrong's Rockton series is amazing! I've read a few of her YA's which were real good too, IMO. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I did not know that about The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew authors!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I've read a few by Kelley Armstrong but it's been a long time... They were all part of her Otherworld series.

I haven't read any of the others. :/

    ReplyDelete
  36. We devour The Queen's books because she is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY-ZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. It took a surprising amount of research to figure out my most-read authors. I didn’t know it would be so hard to figure out my favorites! I started reading the Game of Thrones books, but I quit because I don’t trust the author to ever finish the series.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  38. I did it the lazy way too, haha. I didn't think about the books I read as a kid, though... hmm. Enid Blyton should probably have made my list!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks for reminding me to read the 4th ASOIAF. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Martin would have made my list if it was most read in terms of just the overall page count, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Man I have never read any of the books by the authors on this list. A lot of them look like classics that I should really get to. I've wanted really badly to read ASOIAF but I've been hesitant about reaching the end and waiting with the rest of the world for the last two books.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I haven't read any of those except some Dixon ones when I was a kid. I didn't know it was a pen name for more than one author!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm intrigued by the Guest List, although I accept that I'm judging a book by its cover. Enjoy the weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Still waiting on The Winds of Winter! I love your unending optimism on that one! 😂 One day... One day.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I just did an estimate of ten of my most read authors as my brain didn't want a stressful workout on Goodreads trying to collect data! I read a ton when I was a kid but I don't remember ever reading a Hardy Boys book, which seems a bit strange for a rabid reader. I don't recall reading Nancy Drew either!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Geeze, I've been a lazy shlub non-commenter lately. Shame on me. 😅
