Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back to The Broke and the Bookish so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is Top Ten Songs I Wish Were Books/ Books We'd Give Theme Songs To/ Favorite Songs

I decided to go with songs that would make a good book as well as a few that I thought would be just good playlist songs.

1) Don't Change

2) Under The Milky Way makes me think of a summer night, sitting on the hood of a car and staring up at the night sky.

3) Wouldn't It Be Good Who hasn't felt this way at one time or another?

4) Poison Glen My favorite Irish band. They're amazing.

5) Love On A Real Train Tangerine Dream.

6) Barracuda by Heart. This is a killer live version.

7) Dirty Little Thing by Velvet Revolver.

8) Roundtable Rival  Love this tune by Lindsey Stirling, and the video is awesome.

9) Fire in the Twilight  This is a great tune and would be good for a book playlist. Bonus if you can name the movie this was in.

10)  Blank Space by Taylor Swift. This one is kinda fun.

11) My Jolly Sailor Bold I just like these mermaids.

12) Rushing This is just a nice ambient tune.

  1. I'm not familiar with most of the songs on your list though I have heard of the musicians. I guess I have weird taste in music! I like the sound of Clannad and I liked that scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie though I really think the first movie was the best by far.

    1. I might be the one with weird taste! :) I'm kind of all over the place with this weeks' list...I do love Clannad although I haven't heard all their music, they have so much. And I always liked that scene too- I was ready to see some NASTY mermaids for a change and they fit the bill. :)

  3. Oh my gosh, Lindsey Stirling is awesome with a violin. I love pop violinists. My favorite is Josh Vietti. My son began to play the violin because of him. And you're right, her video is great! The power of music...

    1. It's nice to see artists like that inspire kids to take up an instrument. Awesome. And I don't know how she does it- dancing and performing while playing. Some people just have an amazing talent.

  4. Love Lindsey's work so much-she's the reason why my daughter decided to chose the violin for orchestra :)

    1. That's awesome. I can see why she would inspire a young girl to play- her enthusiasm is infectious and you can just tell she loves what she does. I'm so glad I discovered her music.

  9. INXS have some great songs, Never Tear Us Apart would be good too. I am so happy you love Clannad, their Past Present album was a huge part of my teens, any of their songs would be a great book.

Velvet Revolver are great, I would pick Slither!

  12. I enjoyed that Poison Glen song. As for the Tangerine Dream music, too bad it didn't show the scene from the movie. Too sexy, I suppose, even though no skin is shown. Here’s my TTT.

  16. Thanks for the trip back to the 80s, Greg. Thanks for sharing that Gretchen Wilson - Alice in Chains cover of Barracuda, I have never seen it before. Happy to see Nancy in there, too! She was a big reason I didn't give up playing electric guitar, even though I got a lot of flack from guys most of the time. I love Clannad, too :)

  17. I love Lindsey Stirling's music and that song is awesome. But, honestly, I think I would just love a book like that video. I mean, I can see it being an amazing steampunk story with musical instruments used as weapons. It would be perfect. Also adore Blank Space and think a book like that song could be a lot of fun.
