This week's topic is Top Ten Songs I Wish Were Books/ Books We'd Give Theme Songs To/ Favorite Songs
I decided to go with songs that would make a good book as well as a few that I thought would be just good playlist songs.
1) Don't Change
2) Under The Milky Way makes me think of a summer night, sitting on the hood of a car and staring up at the night sky.
3) Wouldn't It Be Good Who hasn't felt this way at one time or another?
4) Poison Glen My favorite Irish band. They're amazing.
5) Love On A Real Train Tangerine Dream.
6) Barracuda by Heart. This is a killer live version.
7) Dirty Little Thing by Velvet Revolver.
8) Roundtable Rival Love this tune by Lindsey Stirling, and the video is awesome.
9) Fire in the Twilight This is a great tune and would be good for a book playlist. Bonus if you can name the movie this was in.
10) Blank Space by Taylor Swift. This one is kinda fun.
11) My Jolly Sailor Bold I just like these mermaids.
12) Rushing This is just a nice ambient tune.
I'm not familiar with most of the songs on your list though I have heard of the musicians. I guess I have weird taste in music! I like the sound of Clannad and I liked that scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie though I really think the first movie was the best by far.ReplyDelete
I might be the one with weird taste! :) I'm kind of all over the place with this weeks' list...I do love Clannad although I haven't heard all their music, they have so much. And I always liked that scene too- I was ready to see some NASTY mermaids for a change and they fit the bill. :)Delete
I love it that this week's prompt has taught me a little about new music!ReplyDelete
Me too- I've seen a lot of new music I wasn't familiar with.Delete
Oh my gosh, Lindsey Stirling is awesome with a violin. I love pop violinists. My favorite is Josh Vietti. My son began to play the violin because of him. And you're right, her video is great! The power of music...ReplyDelete
It's nice to see artists like that inspire kids to take up an instrument. Awesome. And I don't know how she does it- dancing and performing while playing. Some people just have an amazing talent.Delete
Love Lindsey's work so much-she's the reason why my daughter decided to chose the violin for orchestra :)ReplyDelete
That's awesome. I can see why she would inspire a young girl to play- her enthusiasm is infectious and you can just tell she loves what she does. I'm so glad I discovered her music.Delete
Love that Barracuda version!! Thanks for sharing - Great post!ReplyDelete
Me too. I've always loved that song. :)Delete
Barracuda would be an awesome book!ReplyDelete
I think so too! I wasn't sure it would really fit on this list... then I was like, whatever. I liked it too much to leave it off...Delete
I think Blank Space would be a great book! I haven't heard any of the other songs on your list but I'll definitely check them out.ReplyDelete
Tina The Bookworm
I think so too! Love the video... :)Delete
Ooo barracuda and blank space. Great list!!! I would love to see blank space as a book.ReplyDelete
Wouldn't that be cool? I would too...that video is almost like a little story, and I think it's be fun. She does some neat stuff with her videos. And Barracuda... yeah that's a rocker! :)Delete
INXS have some great songs, Never Tear Us Apart would be good too. I am so happy you love Clannad, their Past Present album was a huge part of my teens, any of their songs would be a great book.ReplyDelete
Velvet Revolver are great, I would pick Slither!
Love INXS, espeially that one even though it's older. And Clannad- I love the Anam and Banba ones. Older kinda, but good stuff. And yes to Slither- that one rocks. :PDelete
I truly do not know a single one of these songs, even the one by Taylor Swift! o_O I don't listen to music! Haha! But some of these do sound like they'd make great books!ReplyDelete
Here are my Top Ten!
I came across a lot of songs today I didn't know too! LOL. Fun topic this week!Delete
This is seriously a diverse list of songs! I recognize a few titles and they're definitely great stories in the song. I'd enjoy seeing the background for them. Great list!ReplyDelete
Thank you, this was fun to put together. Way to many songs that would make great books... :)Delete
I enjoyed that Poison Glen song. As for the Tangerine Dream music, too bad it didn't show the scene from the movie. Too sexy, I suppose, even though no skin is shown. Here’s my TTT.ReplyDelete
I like that band Clannad a lot. And Tangerine dream too... amazing how much music they have out there. Thanks for stopping by Ed.Delete
Lol, I almost chose Barracuda and Magic Man by Heart for my pick this week! But ended up with Straight On instead!ReplyDelete
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my TTT post earlier. :-)
Most of these are unfamiliar to me but what a wonderfully eclectic list.ReplyDelete
Great picks! I love Barracuda, Poison Glen, and Roundtable Rival-they would make awesome books! :)ReplyDelete
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!
I would read Blank Space and Barracuda!!ReplyDelete
Thanks for the trip back to the 80s, Greg. Thanks for sharing that Gretchen Wilson - Alice in Chains cover of Barracuda, I have never seen it before. Happy to see Nancy in there, too! She was a big reason I didn't give up playing electric guitar, even though I got a lot of flack from guys most of the time. I love Clannad, too :)ReplyDelete
I love Lindsey Stirling's music and that song is awesome. But, honestly, I think I would just love a book like that video. I mean, I can see it being an amazing steampunk story with musical instruments used as weapons. It would be perfect. Also adore Blank Space and think a book like that song could be a lot of fun.ReplyDelete
I agree, Blank Space would make a very fun book!ReplyDelete

Great list! I love that Barracuda version and I agree it would be a great book. It would also be a great song for an action scene like a chase.ReplyDelete
Great picks! I hadn't heard of a lot of these but I love Barracuda by Heart!ReplyDelete
