The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
Well we're into February and springtime can't be far off. The week has been cold, rainy, and windy- with a little snow mixed in for good measure. It did warm up on and off though- and for the second time in two weeks a big storm passed by (this time to the north) so that was nice. And a thunderstorm actually rolled through- nice to have thunder in February! This week went by fast (like last week) but I did get a bit of reading in.
I'm still continuing my Orphan Black binge. Can we talk about Alison a minute? I mean, is she a riot or what? Hard to believe the same actress plays all those roles. And I'm happy to report that episode 2 of The 100 was a big improvement over the premiere. It actually felt like The 100 and I feel like the show is back on track.

Alison is my favorite on Orphan Black. Her and Felix. I am waiting for the third season to come on Prime. I feel like it should be soon. We had similar weather this week and I really hope spring is sooner rather than later! Have a great week!ReplyDelete
I know, same here. They're hilarious. I didn't know S3 wasn't out yet- I just started S2. I really like this show...Delete
I think they're both my favorites as well.Delete
I watched a few episodes of Orphan Black but I didn't love it as much as everyone else seemed to and I am now way behind. I do want to catch up someday though.ReplyDelete
Thanks for linking Freebie February. Now the pressure is on, I have to get some of these reviews written!
I didn't like the first few either- seemed kinda weird. :) The around episode 4 or so it took off for me. I didn't like the main character at first, but she kinda changes... plus the other clones are great!Delete
Have fun w/ Freebie February, it sounds fun!
I might sound like a broken record, but... I want to check out Black Sails, Orphan Black and read The Immortals. I have yet to act on any of these impulses, but I will-- so thanks for your tips. You always have some off-the-beaten path recommendations that make your week recap fun!ReplyDelete
Black Sails is good, and I'm looking forward to The Immortals as well. I hope it hold up! I was at the bookstore today and saw a ton of books I wanted, so I know what you mean. :)Delete
Thank you Rita, I'm glad you can come by. :)
You have me wanting to watch Black Sails. I keep seeing the listing for it but haven't watched it. It sounds like it's time. I'm curious to see what you think of Sanctuary Bay. It's calling me. Orphan Black was amazing (well at least the first season that I watched). It's impossible to believe that it's the same actress because she's so completely different with each role. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
Black Sails is good, took me a few episodes to make sure I liked it (that seems to be common, I think these shows often take a bit to find their sea legs- no pun intended) and I'm thinking Sanctuary Bay may be my next read. For some reason I want to read it too!Delete
I like the sound of Pandemic, it sounds like my sort of thing!!ReplyDelete
That star wars picture is immense and so very cool!!
Have a good week!
Isn't that cool? I think I could get into some Star Wars cyberpunk action. :) And yeah I might go see that too- it looks fun and Nichols is in it... :)Delete
I watched the first two seasons of Orphan Black and loved it, but the newer seasons, just like The Walking Dead and Downtown Abbey, have gone unwatched since I fell out of watching television. I finally figured out that it is because my son doesn't watch TV with me anymore. It just seems weird watching things by myself. When I get together with friends it is for dinner, or game board night, so they are of no help. Ha ha! I heard there is another big snowstorm coming North somewhere. I know it is not coming up the coast, is it going to be near you? I hope not anyway. Here's to Phil the groundhog being right about an early spring. Have a wonderful week, Greg.:)ReplyDelete
I'm two episodes into S2 of Orphan Black and loving it- those two episodes were great! I hope the whole season is that good! And I'm the same way- I have Netflix (no Hulu) so I have to buy episodes at Prime- so I'm going kinda slow. If Netflix had the latest TWD and Black Sails (and Orphan Black) I'd be much more caught up!Delete
We're not supposed to get a storm (I don't think) but there is a chance of snow next week- fairly light. We've been pretty lucky here in Michigan so far.
Yup let it snow... Let it snow... School closed, day off, lots of reading and writing whohoooo :) I wish I had time to watch TV! All your series sound so good! But unfortunately it is TV or reading and blogging soooo :)ReplyDelete
I liked Trish and Iza posts too :)
Yeah finally the review of Immortals! Can't wait :)
Did you get a snow day? :) I hope it was a good one. We've actually been pretty mild weather wise- I shouldn't say that, watch us get dumped on now! LOL. Lots of good posts last week... :)Delete
I'm trying to get my reviews out... I have a few in the pipeline. I've been kinda coasting along...
oh noooo don't jinx it Greg! LOLDelete
Now I guess I'm going to have to check out Orphan Black...thanks for sharing, and enjoy your new week. Thanks for visiting my blog.ReplyDelete
I hope you like it if you do... it's a fun show but it took me a few episodes to get like it. Have a great week too! :)Delete
WE love Orphan Black and yes Alison is a hoot. We had a snowstorm, and then have been blessed with an inch or so every day since. My husband and son hate the driveway right now. We have a three car garage and all they do is shovel daily. Stay warm and keep watching OB.ReplyDelete
I will. :) You guys stay warm- I feel for the guys. Gets old. :)Delete
Glad you're still enjoying Orphan Black and I agree... Alison's great, though Helena actually becomes a fave as well!ReplyDelete
I am loving that show right now- alison is awesome.Delete
Ooooh! The Immortals looks really good! I'm going to have to pick that one up sometime! I've also been considering watching Orphan Black. The Hot Topic clothes line is enough to make me curious! My husband loves The 100 but I've never watched it so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts... Have a fantastic week!ReplyDelete
Here's my Weekly Recap!
The 100 is great- I'll have a recap this week. I didn't know Hot Topic has OB clothes- that's awesome. I'll be checking that out! :)Delete
I'm a klutz when it comes to TV so don't even know of Orphan Black but glad you enjoy it! Sounds interesting - one person playing many parts. I'd want to see it just because of that. Ah some snow - send it my way! Have a fan going trying to dispel the heat.ReplyDelete
Ah I want a fan on. We always want what we don't have- I'd love some heat right about now. :) And yes the actress does an amazing job playing several different roles- it's quite wild.Delete
Allison definitely has some great scenes and storyline. I watched S3E3 of The 100 earlier and I'm starting to feel better about it, so hopefully it'll keep that momentum. I still need to start watching Black Sails. Have a great week, Greg!ReplyDelete
I love her little lines and mannerisms, she's the best part of the show I think! I just started S2 and the first twp episodes cracked me up. I didn't realize there would be so much humor on that show!Delete
I just watched S3E3 of The 100 tonight too, and loved it. I hope you enjoy it going forward. And Black Sails is a trip, although S2 is the best one.
I'm fighting with my computer to finally get to watch Blacksails. And yes, Alison is one of my favorite characters, but I have a soft spot for Helena :) That video with Lindsey Stirling is really good, they look like they had fun making it, so thanks for sharing and have a great (cold) week while I'm having a spring-ey one !ReplyDelete
Alison is hilarious! She always manages to get herself into the weirdest situations! Like Iza, I have a soft spot for Helena, though, I think she's so complex! Between the insecurity and the hard, kick-ass attitude, you just never know what you'll get with her. I need to catch up with Orphan Black, as we're about half way through the third season.ReplyDelete
I'm glad the storm passed north of you. Here it's raining so much I think we need to start building a boat.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Yikes, cold, rainy, and windy doesn't sound fun. That cyberpunk Star Wars thing is pretty cool though. Glad you're enjoying your shows! And that you got some reading in :-)ReplyDelete
Hahaha I just watched the video, and you're right, the 4:28 part is cracking me up.
some new interesting books for you! happy reading!ReplyDelete
I hope you like Sanctuary Bay and Immortals looks interesting. :) It's been off and on warm and cold here but no snow, thank goodness...lol. Though when it's 60 one day and 30 the next it sure feels really cold!! Glad you are enjoying your shows. :)ReplyDelete
Week in Review
I haven't watched Orphan Black. You have me curious now. And I could kick myself for missing the premiere of The 100. I like that show and binge watched the first two season to get ready for the new season. LOL I'll be checking out Sanctuary Bay. Got a lot of recommendations to read it.ReplyDelete
My Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2016/02/07/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-146-and-the-sunday-post/
I love Orphan Black - more than I thought - and keep telling people to watch it. Couldn't get away with The 100 though...maybe I should try again? EmmaReplyDelete
Me too. I didn't think at first I would like it, but now I love it. The 100- the first few episodes are weak, it's very teen angsty for want of a better word. I heard another blogger say you have to get about 4 episodes or so in and then it takes off, and I agree w/ that. And S2 is fantastic!Delete
We are getting more snow this week, I am not looking forward to it.ReplyDelete
I want to watch Orphan Black but I am sort of binge watching Blue Bloods. Not on netflix but everyday they have a bunch of episodes on TV and I am completely loving all the characters in the show. Tom Selleck is fantastic in it. I just need to catch up on Once Upon a Time before I start watching anything new.
Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!
Are you? We're supposed to get a bit more... but not too much.Delete
Tom Selleck- haven't seen him in ages! Nice to see he's still doing shows. I've watched a little Once Upon A Time and that's a pretty good show too, I need to watch more of it. If you ever do watch Orphan Black give it a few episodes-it took me a few to get into it, and I almost gave up. Now I love it!
Glad you've had some nicer weather. We had some decent days this past week too and today should be around 50 degrees. Unfortunately it won't last and we are supposed to get from 1-6 inches over the next few days. I am hoping it will be on the low side as I hate snow. I will breathe easier when I know winter is over for good though we have been very lucky this year :)ReplyDelete
Yeah it's been mild here too, but I'm still over winter! :) I'm with you, definitely ready for spring. 50 degrees would be nice, stuck in the 30's. Here's hoping your week is good and the weather not too bad. :)Delete
A thunderstorm in February seems so weird! This has been crazy winter everywhere. The Immortals looks good. After finally finishing City on Fire, I'm looking for my next NYC read.ReplyDelete
I know, I thought so too. It warmed up just enough we had thunder rumbling around, and lots of rain. I would take a good spring or summer storm!Delete
We had a downpour one day this week, Thurs I think. I didn't hear any thunder though. I was disappointed. lol I haven't watched any of those shows, but I did catch a bit of that new show Lucifer when hubby and Trip were watchign it and it looks like it might be pretty good. And I discovered Lucifer is supposed to be from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman series which I just read. I hope it does well. :)ReplyDelete
That Star Wars video was funny - I love that they allude to Boba Fetts' "oops" death, like, "Oops, I fell in the Sarlacc pic. Darn."ReplyDelete
I hope the weather decides to make up it's mind this week!!!
I liked that too, I laughed! They did such a great job...Delete
I know, what's up with this weather? I just want spring!! :)
Alison is my favorite character on OB and I love when her and Felix are sparring lolReplyDelete
I need to start 100 and people tell me I need to stick with it past the first few episode before it gets good.
Karen @For What It's Worth
I do too, those two are great! I didn't think I'd like Felix but he's cracking me up now. And Alison is a hoot.Delete
I totally agree about The 100. the first few episodes are whatever but around the middle of S1 it gets really good- and S2 is excellent.
I was just told by some friends that I needed to start Orphan Black.. Clearly, they were right! I also am dying to see the new Star Wars movie, I just have not gotten around to it!ReplyDelete

I finally watched The 100 premiere and was not into it. I'll keep watching to see if it gets better, but I was disappointed. I waited so long for that show to come back and it was just..meh.ReplyDelete
Here is my Sunday Post
Molly @ Molly's Book Nook
The premiere was terrible I thought. Very lackluster. I just watched episode 3 last night and that was pretty good though- felt more like The 100. A farfetched element or two but that's normal :) but a much better episode.Delete
I'm so unclued-in when it comes to current TV shows... one of the downsides of giving up cable. Not that I was watching much TV anyway! But some of these shows sound intriguing.ReplyDelete
I love the Star Wars mashup. Hollens has some serious talent, and I'd already come across Lindsey Stirling, who is also impressive...Most impressive. I'll have to share that with Robin.
Wishing you a great week!
PS. You might want to doublecheck your Next Week section -- I think it's the same as Last Week. (I've done that before, myself.)
I'm still working my way through Haven, which I'm still enjoying. I'm in the middle of season 4 right now. I've heard good things about Black Sails, but haven't yet watched it. I look forward to reading your thoughts on Sanctuary Bay and The Immortals. Both look really good.ReplyDelete
It's actually 80 degrees out right now. It won't last, but we are enjoying it. I hope you have a great week!
I really need to watch Orphan Black already. I keep hearing such great things about it! I'm bingeing Parenthood right now, but after I may have to see if I can find that one to watch. :)ReplyDelete
I wish it was on Netflix, it would be easier to watch. I've been buying the episodes at Amazon, which is kind of a pain. I like it though, hope you enjoy if you get to it!Delete
Still no snow here, I don't think we're going to get any snow this year. It feels a bit strange. We do get wind and rain, but it's been a mild winter.ReplyDelete
I enjoyed The reader junkie her library posts, they were interesting to read. Oh and that cyberpunk star wars picture looks pretty cool. I hope you'll have a great week!
I haven't watched Orphan Black yet. I did watched the second episode of The 100 and it was definitely better than the last one. It's still a good show.ReplyDelete
Hope you have a great week!
Sanctuary Bay looks great!ReplyDelete
I love Lindsey Stirling! Thanks for sharing that video. I hadn't seen that one yet!
I hope you enjoyed Sanctuary Bay. I have it on my to read list, and have an ARC, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Enjoy reading this week!ReplyDelete
My It's Monday! What Are You Reading? post.
I see sun today, YAY! I will be cleaning up the pool. I always have it ready...just in case, even though it is VERY cool I have been know to take a dip or two. :-)ReplyDelete
sherry @ fundinmental My Sunday Memes
I watched most of the first season, but then lost track of it...and here we are like 3 seasons later. It was amazing though, Tatiana is a great actress. I love Peter and Lindsey's collabs, plus an reason to hear Duel of Fates is a good one. And that artwork is epic!ReplyDelete
Been eyeing Black Sails on Netflix. Might have to start watching it.ReplyDelete
Love your Top Ten Tuesday list that is all over the place and still makes sense.
I thought the second episode of the 100 was better too! It will be interesting to see where the show goes this season. Enjoy that sun, cause cold and snow is on the way (so they say).ReplyDelete
I really need to try Orphan Black one of these days. We got snow today and more expected tomorrow. Well, it IS February, it's to be expected. Happy reading!ReplyDelete
I've heard a lot of good things about Orphan Black and I've got to start watching it soon. I love that cyberpunk Star Wars - the droids look cool! I hope you have a great week!ReplyDelete
I am going to see if I can get my DH to try a few of these shows.ReplyDelete
I hope you have another good week.
I kind of want a thunderstorm to pass here, but they are talking about wet snow for Sunday. We'll see how long that talk lasts. Hope you have a great week.ReplyDelete
I forgot about Orphan Black! We wanted to watch that. Perhaps we will start it soon. :)ReplyDelete
Sanctuary Bay looks awesome!
Thanks for the comments on my blog about Wyatt - I appreciate them! Hopefully you are right and his appetite picks up!
