Friday Feature & Follow #3

Feature and Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

This week's question: How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

I've done both. I try to finish books but if I'm not liking it, I will DNF. Time is too short to spend on something that's not working for me.

Having said that, if the book has been provided by an author/ publisher I would finish it. I think that's only fair if I've agreed to read it, but I won't post a negative review. I'll let them know it wasn't my cup of tea and thank them for the chance to read it.

How about you?

  1. Really similar to my answer!
Thanks for following my blog! I am following back with GFC and Bloglovin' too! :D

  2. This comment has been removed by the author.

  3. Seems to be the answer of choice today! Although seeing many who always power through. Though I am like you, as you already know!

Thanks for visiting and following my blog! Returning the follow!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    NEW Follower :D

  4. I don't like to DNF books but sometimes they end up that way. I used to feel bad then I realized many more loved it and didn't. If its a review and I can't muddle through ill be honest and never insult or hurt the author. I'm not doing FF. I stopped by to visit :)

  5. Life is too short and there are too many books in the world to waste time. New follower :) Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I try my best to power through the book. Sometimes I have been surprised, but only sometimes.

    Here is my FF

Brittany @ Spare Time book blog

  12. As I've said in the other blogs, I'll DNF it for the time being, wait for a couple of days then read it again. I mean come on, every book deserves a second chance. :D

Thanks for dropping by my STS

  13. My TBR list is so long right now, I have no patience anymore for a book I don't like. I'll give it a while, but if I've made it 1/2 way and still hate it, the I'll DNF.
Thanks for stopping by my FF. Followed back via bloglovin.

Kimberly @ Once Upon a YA Book

    Here's my FF

  15. Interesting that you inform publishers about negative reviews. I never thought to do that -- I post both good and bad ... I can't expect to always provide a positive review, no matter the book was given for free.

Thanks for coming by my blog! I'm following you back on GFC and bloglovin .. going to poke around some more :)

  16. I rarely DNF, I'm far too stubborn!
Thanks for stopping by my FF, I'm a new Bloglovin' and GFC follower :)

  17. Totally agree. Reading time is my pleasure time and I am not going to torture myself to read something that I don't like.

And about book that is provided by publisher, if I don't like it I'll send them an email and let them know. I don't like to write a negative review too and I don't think it's fair to write a review when I don't even finish the book but DNF it. And I don't know about you but sending an email about not liking the book is so hard. I hate to break bad news to someone so it's lucky that by sending an email I don't have too see their reaction =/

Anyway thanks for stopping by and I follow back =)
