Top Ten Characters I Can Relate To

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is Top Ten Characters That Remind Me of Myself. Wow... what a topic. I mean, a toughie. I'm going to go, I think, more with characters that I can relate to on some level?

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

Eddard Stark

Not saying I'm like Eddard Stark or anything, but just that he does some dumb things for honor, and I think looking back on my life I can see times where I made a decision that seemed right at the time, but maybe wasn't the smartest thing I could do!

The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh (Winnie-the-Pooh, #1-4)

Winnie-the-Pooh

Just all the food.

Rogue Protocol (The Murderbot Diaries, #3)

Murderbot

I mean, it just wants to watch cosmic Netflix all the time. I can relate!!!

Big Little Lies

Madeline

So many times I would nod or laugh out loud at something she said or did.

The Cats of Tanglewood Forest (Newford, #18)

Lillian

She just wants to see the fairies or a world a little more exciting than our own. How many times have I wished that??

The Blue

Lana and Kitty

I mean, they join a yacht crew sailing around south Asia. Who wouldn't?

The Extinction Trials (The Extinction Trials, #1)

Stormchaser

She questions whether the dinosaurs of Piloria should be eradicated just to clear the way for humans. I can see myself questioning the same things.

Fangirl

Cath

Such a relatable look at starting college/ university.

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1)

The Wayfarer crew

I related so much to the crew at times

  1. LOL your Pooh one cracked me up! I mean, who doesn't like food? :P

  2. I thought this one was fun, but I don't really read thinking, character x reminds me of me. But I like what you say about relating to characters. I think maybe that's an indication that we're similar to a character... maybe! Love seeing Winnie-the-Pooh on the list; all the nostalgic childhood feels there. :)

    1. This was a tough topic! I didn't feel comfortable with character reminds me of me either, so I tweaked it! Relating to characters though... that's so much easier. :) And yay for Winnie!

  3. I see nothing wrong with being like Winnie the Pooh when it comes to food. :)

  4. Loved your post! I found it so funny! I can definitely relate with Fangirl thinking back at my first year in college. Oh and also, the food thing. Totally me.

  6. I seriously considered Winnie-the-Pooh, too. I really had a hard time this week because I love characters as they are written but they are obviously not as complex as a real person (me) Characters like me, a bit

  8. Great list, the best characters are those you can relate to, even if it's just a little thing like a love for watching cosmic Netflix, lol! I really love that about Murderbot too, it cracks me up every time the narrative goes into detail about the soaps it watches.

  9. Haha wanting to watch cosmic netflix. Yes I can see that. And yeah Ned did the 'right' thing for honor but that made him so predictable for his enemies. :(

  11. Yes! The Wayfarer crew! I think the relatable characters are a good chunk of the story's appeal. 👍✨

I looked, and Better World Books has quite a few used copies of The Cats of Tanglewood Forest! The next time I order, I will buy one. 😺

  25. OMG I love that you included Pooh... because of all the food. Priceless, Greg! :)

  26. Your Pooh comment cracked me up! I'm seeing lots of Fangirl today. Loved that book!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love how candid you were about why you think you're like Eddard Stark. I think we are all guilty of that at points in our life.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hah @ Ned Stark. Seriously, I think it's something we've all done more than we care to admit.

Also, when I read All Systems Red, I was in love with how much television he/she watched. Can you imagine being that immersed in it?

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  29. So many people enjoy Fangirl and I don't know what's kept me from picking it u already. Great choices!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I totally related to Cath's starting college story too!! But maybe not the part where she only ate granola bars or whatever because I NEED REAL FOOD. And I will go out of my comfort zone to get it if I have to.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ha! Murderbot...I was surprised when I first saw that one but yeah - I can see it. lol

  32. Great choices!! I could totally relate to Cath too haha.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I loved the way you chose your characters. I think I am like Eeyore!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Winnie the Pooh! I love it. I almost put down Piglet but then realized I was more like Rabbit and gave up the idea. haha. Cath is on my list. And Eddard should be on mine too! I don't know why I didn't think of him. Great list :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm probably a bit closer to Piglet and Eeyore. :)

    Lauren @ Always Me

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love your choices! I've always related more to Eeyore than to Pooh, too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is such a fun question - I should have answered it! Ooh, in Winnie the Pooh who would I be? Could be an Eeyore!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I loved seeing Cath and Pooh on this list! Here is my TTT https://paigesofbook.blogspot.com/2019/05/top-ten-tuesday-characters-that-remind.html

  39. I think Cath is second to Hermione for making the most appearances this week. I am really impressed with this list. I didn't think of any on my own, but after seeing Eeyore on a list, I nodded my head, because he is pretty much me.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love that you chose Winnie the Pooh as one of your characters, haha. I see someone else mentioned Eeyore, that would definitely be the character I relate to lol. I can't blame that Lillian character, that does sound nice!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm definitely like Arya (from the show at least)...minus the murdering...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your comment for Pooh made me smile so much! ANd so true lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. Great job! I didn't even attempt this. The Winnie the Pooh made me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, Winnie the Pooh. Growing up my family always called one of my sisters Eeyore and my brother Tigger. I was definitely Rabbit.

My problem is the characters I'm like are sometimes ones I don't like. And although I'm like them in personality, I don't know that I can "relate" to them, we don't always like the same things. So my list was a mix of, like me in personality, and like me in aspects of personality.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love your picks! LOL to Winnie the Pooh and all of the food :)

  46. I love how eclectic your list is. Murderbot is definitely relatable, and same with Winnie-the-Pooh!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Cath from Fangirl made my list this week too. I love that you picked Winnie the Pooh. I had Eeyore on my list, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I can relate to Murderbot too-I just want to curl up with favourite entertainment and stay away from other people!

    ReplyDelete
  49. What a good mix of characters to relate to. I think we all can relate to making bad decisions for the right reasons when it comes to Ned Stark. And I can definitely relate to Cath, a girl who writes fanfiction and didn't feel like she fit in when she moved to college? I got that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I always have a rumbly in my tumbly. Pooh is my spirit animal for eating. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hehe the Winnie the Pooh one made me giggle!

    My TTT post!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think I would be Pooh too lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am seeing Cath on a lot of lists for either the university experience or the writing side of things so I am not surprised! I totally agree about Winnie the Pooh and all the food :D

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have started the murder bot series and totally enjoyed it. I have to start book 2 soon.
