Sunday Post #138

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

After a few weeks of not knowing what to read next I seem to be over that. I added a few new books this week and did some writing as well. Must be the nice weather. It's been great all week and today was in the 70's. I'm also going through Black Sails withdrawal, but the good news is Prime wll have the episodes- at some point. I'll have to binge and catch up when that happens.

This week my Tuesday discussion post will be on Androids and Part 2 of Trust Issues will be up on Thursday. If you want to read the first part of the story you can find that here

Want to see how Daisy Ridley worked out for Star Wars?

And I'm listening to...

Here's what I read or reviewed this past week.

    1. Yeah it's kinda nice to have my groove back. I just didn't know what I felt like reading for a bit there. :)

You have a nice weekend too!

  2. Sounds like you've had a great week and glad it's been productive.

I love Mark Hamill on social media - I love that he can laugh at himself! I am of the era where I was Team Luke vs Team HanSolo. I liked blondes so it was Luke all the way!

  3. I love the Luke and Rey pic! I comment spammed your last week's posts again. Heh heh. Sorry. I gave you my theory about "little greys" on your time travel post. And the Dune covers! I think the Dune books are my fave SciFi series. Yay for more Trust Issues, I am looking forward to read that. I have been curious about The Owl and the Japanese Circus and will be interested in what you think. Have a wonderful week. :)

    1. Is that great? That's okay- spam away lol. I'm not a huge fan of Dune but I do like the covers (the first few anyway). I'm glad you like them though! And thanks for the kind words about TI- I'm having fun writing.

Can't wait for your discussion post on Androids and Part 2 of Trust Issues. I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT. You write very well Greg.:)

Glad you are reading again as well. I added NightstruckOwl and the Japanese Circus to GR. Thanks for sharing.

Rey looks so much older in that pic!

  6. A second part to Trust Issues?! Yes, please!
I am loving all the Civil War clips! I'm so excited I might start hyperventilating... That picture of Luke and Rey training is just the best!
I've said this before but you always find the most beautiful artwork! They're so inspiring for writing!
Have a brilliant week, Greg! Let's hope the weather stays nice ;)

    1. Thanks! I'm glad you liked Trust Issues, hope the 2nd part isn't too bad. lol. The Civil War clips are coming fast and furious, but I think it looks good. And that pic of Luke and Rey cracked me up. that was on his Twitter...

Thanks about the artwork! I love looking for it, and it was actually a piece I found that got me thinking and that's where Trust Issues came from!

  7. Glad you're getting out of your slump. Nice weather always makes me feel more productive. Good song! I love Dorothy. Since iZombie is over I'm trying to decide which show to pick up ... 12 Monkeys, Black Sails, ...

    1. Yeah the nice weather this week definitely seems to have jump started my mood- and creativity! Dorothy rocks! Love that tune... :)

12 Monkeys and Black Sails are both awesome (but then I;m biased)- Black sails is probably my favorite show but it's hard to watch unless you have Starz. 12 Monkeys is good... :)

  8. I like the artwork too. Stunning! Have a great spring reading week!

  9. The weather can work as a great motivation to doing things like reading. (Camp) Nano tends to bring out all the writers. It's fun to see them go about it and read their stories. :)

  13. Ha! That picture of Luke and Rey in the "Yoda training pose" is hilarious :) I just rewatched The Force Awakens last night and I can't wait to see the next movie. I have a feeling it will be even better with Luke actually in it.

I am glad you found some books to read. I hate that feeling of not knowing what to read next. I have a huge stack of library books that just came in so I have plenty to choose from.

  18. I was having reading issues, but not for lack of books! I have tons to read, some by May, but I wasn't in the mood to read, which is a scary thing. Now I seem to have straightened out my mojo and am back as usual.

I look forward to the second part of Trust Issues. Will it be a scene from before or after what we saw? It's fun the way you are writing-- flash fiction could be in any order, really, and come together like a puzzle piece. I bought two books recently about writing, one about how to write in a month like the NANOWRIMO, and one a workbook on how to get through the stages of writing. I hope to someday write a book, or novella, that my eldest granddaughter can read, so probably a fantasy-oriented story. Who knows, lol. I'm not even at the starting gate yet. Just thinking about it at this point, but food for thought.

    Enjoy your week!

    1. Glad your mojo is back. I didn't really have a lack of books either, it was more like... what did I feel like?

  19. I LOVE Dorthy! She has such an amazing voice. I just found her through Spotify and have been listening to her a lot.

I hate when you can't decide what to read next. I tend to go through those periods where nothing really appeals to me at that moment either. :( I'm glad you seem to be coming out of it. The weather does help.

  30. Glad you got out of your reading slump! I've been dealing with the don't-know-what-to-read thing too. Even though I'm a mood reader, I'm finding that having review copies is surprisingly helpful for my indecision. Instead of agonizing for days over what to read, I just pick up the next book I have scheduled for review and stick to it.

  41. It's always difficult when you're in one of those moods where you don't know what to read, so that's good you got out of that. We had some nice weather here too.

My boyfriend has read Order of the Stick, it's a carton based on DnD/ roleplaying games right? Have you ever played DnD or another roleplaying game?

I like those artwork pictures you shared, they look great! Have a great week!

  42. I am glad you have been able to settle on what to read. I have that problem for time to time--just can't quite figure out what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes having so many choices is part of the problem. Having new choices though can help. :-)

I am glad you are writing again as well. My husband has gotten back into his writing, which he'd gotten away from for too long. He's much happier when he's writing, I think. I liked the first part of Trust Issues and am eager to read more!

I am also eager to hear what you thought of Charish's book. :-)
