Well it was a pretty good week. We had clear skies most every day and some sun so that's pretty good around here this time of year. I reviewed Alone in the Wild by Kelley Armstrong and loved it. Other than that, the big news for me was a bit of cat drama. A squirrel tried to get in through a window- I don't think it realized there was glass there?- and my cat predictably went berserk and tried whaling on it through the window. Fun times.

Oh and this was interesting f/ the Weather Service.

  2. I kinda dig the "creeping" theme of your art choices this week! That huge cthulhu looking thing is awesome! Reminds me of the game The Secret World (now Secret World Legends) which was an awesome mmorpg. Highly recommended if you ever want to try another one after you get your fill of SWTOR :D

    1. This theme totally came together by accident! And that first pic WOWED me. I heard of that game- it seems like something I would like.

  3. I hope your cat is doing OK! It sounds like the squirrel we have here - he comes close to the window to taunt Freddy and Hercules, and they go ballistic barking at him. He seems to just wave at them and find them silly...
Have a great weekend and happy reading, Greg!

  4. Haha, that weather tweet. I have replaced several screen doors because my dog crashed through them when she saw squirrels. Pets need to chill out! I hope you have a great week!

  8. LOL! My cat always tries to fight squirrels through the glass too. Sometimes I think they taunt him on purpose.

  9. We have an indoor cat and when she stares out the window, we say she is watching "Cat TV"! I love the art choices this week! Are these your creations or another artist?

  10. I think my cat would have gone and hid if that had happened. He's not winning any awards for bravery and I think that would be the final straw. I love the picture with the Golden Gate Bridge. Soo creepy! Have a great week!

  11. I hope your cat didn't get hurt trying to protect you from the squirrel. It must have been fun to watch though. I like that ATL has a sense of humor about their weather. If you don't laugh, you'll cry

  12. We finally got some sun near the end of the week - it's been a rainy winter!

  14. Oh, my cats have strong words for those squirrels! Hope your window survived.

So thrilled you loved Alone in the Wild, too! That video of the Golden Gate Bridge is creepy!

  15. Yay for starting and finishing a book! Squirrels are so cute, but the cats reaction is so cat-like :P I am glad you had a good week :D

  16. Oh my goodness, Cat vs Squirrel. The epic showdown. Too funny. And that tweet from the Atlanta NWS is awesome. Fun when they actually have a sense of humor. :) That video clip of the bridge is wild. Definitely creepy.

  17. I love the weather forecast:))). The BBC Met office don't add those sorts of messages - and I wish they would as we are being RAINED on constantly. I'm SOOO sick of it! And that clip of the Golden Gate bridge is fabulous... Have a great week, Greg.

  18. Squirrels are such mad critters and a lot of fun to watch! We get all kinds of acrobatics from the furry guys trying to get on to my dad's bird feeders!

  19. Hahah similar-ish thing happened to me yesterday. A squirrel comes by the back deck daily to drink water the snow left and to sunbathe. My cat would not stop banging on the window and jumping up as the squirrel taunted him.

I just picked up a J,T. Ellison book at Walmart this weekend - "All The Pretty Girls".

That bridge creeping video is so cool!

  20. It's been raining so much here too Greg!!! I guess earth had to make up for lats year's draught... and I would loved to see your cat drama LOL

  21. OMG, I am laughing tears. Pictured your cat and the squirrel - it made my day! Hope your cat is ok, though. Thank you for sharing this little scene.

  22. haha having a cat must be quite entertaining. I really want to have a pet cat as well but I'm vegetarian and we don't touch meat or non-veg food so that'll be a problem feeding cats sadly.

  24. Great art this week!
I keep bird feeders near my front porch and the woodpeckers here are huge. My cat does not like it. Haha
    Have a good one, Greg!

  25. Hahaha that's too funny from the weather service! And I would love to have seen the car-chipmunk window action, I'm sure it was funny. Glad you've had decent weather, this time of year is so hit and miss.

    Have a great week Greg!

  26. Ha! Your cat must be related to mine! Forever traumatized by the wildlife outside the window. Have a great week! :)

  27. LOL at Cthulhu. I hope it rains less than predicted.

  31. That red cloaked figure by the bridge is the coolest thing ever!
It's been stormy, cloudy and dark here. I love it. My dog goes nuts when a pigeon walks too close to the door, I can't imagine what he would be like if he saw a squirrel.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yikes!! Yes.. I definitely miss the drama since we had to leave our cat. Cat's are good for drama.LOL!!
Have a great week and happy reading.

  33. I like that creeping gif. i'll have to show Kevin.

It was pouring and super windy this morning but the sun has come out and it's gorgeous.

    Cats man...lol

  34. Nice art! The cat drama sounds funny! We use to have a rabbit that would sit in front of the glass door taunting my inside dogs, we ended up having to put cardboard on the lower part of the door so they couldn't see it...lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  36. I can imagine the scene with your cat! I remember a long time ago I was sleeping with the windows open and my cat was in the window. An outside cat got close and I was woke up by sounds that I didn't even know cats could make. I hope you have a great (and dry) week!

  37. Oooh, that first picture is intense. Yay for Alone in the Woods being great.

  38. Ah so fun with the squirrel and the cat. We don't have squirrels here so I am always interested in them. Funny creatures.
