Sunday Post #456

This may be the week my blogging mojo returned. I may have posted (counting) FOUR posts since my last Sunday Post. And Cover Love returned this week. Can Bookcover Spotlight be far? At any rate, I started Obi-Wan Kenobi and thought it started a little dull. Let's see what else is going on. Oh, masks. I was wondering- I still see some people saying they wear masks everywhere, and here no one is wearing. I hate to dredge up a sore topic but... Covid is still around, right? It seems like there are vast regional disparities in how seriously it's taken.

In other news, my commenting woes continue. As in, I've had tons of comments going to spam. I'm sorry if your comment has disappeared, I'm trying to catch those and un- spam them. Is anyone else having these kinds of problems?

PULP COVER OF THE WEEK:

  1. Yay, I'm so glad you found your blogging mojo. Now if you could only find mine for me, lol. I think the comment eating is a blogger thing because mine has been throwing everything into spam as well. So aggravating!

  2. I've had lots of comments going to spam, too. And lots of my comments that look like they posted just fine seem to disappear later to who knows where. It's been very frustrating. I now check my spam box daily. Sigh. But at least your blogging mojo is returning! That's a good thing. :)

  3. Yay for blogging mojo coming back! I'm still waiting for mine, lol...but maybe I just need my life to be less busy :P I am watching Obi-Wan a well and...it's okay. There's a lot of lazy writing in the show so far which I'm not too happy about!

  4. Such awesome photos and music! Thanks so much. Oh, we still have to wear MASKS at work, but not at our desk..so I dunno. I do have mine hanging around my neck. The masks are a touchy subject. So glad to see you posting so much 🌸🌈💖Glad you are finding something interesting to watch too. Thank you for all your comments. The RP group has been interesting. Although, it's not really RP from like the old days. I remember the one time someone TEXTED me (who I did not even know) and we started a scene together. Now that was intense and quite interesting. I used to write with someone who wrote mysteries. And that was all online. I learned a lot from her. Anyway, just thinking of things to do that does not require gas. Of course, there is the cheesball making coming up for a potluck and I finally finished up the Bisquick with brownies. (Now you are wondering..what did you put in those brownies?) Oh, I'm not telling, but I'm leaving the Tequilla for drinking. Trying my best to finish the Condor Heroes. Thanks again for being here. Wishing you a great weekend.

  5. I still wear masks indoors like in stores. It's about 50/50 here. That sailboat photo is amazing!

  6. Baz and I are still masking in the house when we are in the same room. 😷 I don't go anywhere, I'm too paranoid after being so sick with Omicron. I'm even afraid to go out to get my booster. 😔 Baz still masks in public, including at work. And judging from our grocery store's entrance cam only about one in 30-40 people are masking, except for the Asian university students who seem to all be masking. Almost zero of the senior citizens I see are masked, which makes no sense to me. 😛

I don't have spam comment problems because I have Disqus. 🙃

Have a wonderful new week. 🌞

  7. Always lovely to feel like you're in a blogging mojo! Even better if you can keep it going :) Have a good week.

  8. I've noticed that some comments, from commenters I never had a problem with, were going to spam a couple weeks ago. I guess now I need to keep checking! Happy to see your posts this week, hope I got to all of them!

Yes, COVID is definitely still a thing! I just saw a headline that said it's really bad in Florida. I still wear a mask when I drop my son off at daycare, although it seems like some of the teachers have dropped them.

  9. I started Obi-Wan too and not so fussed with it. I did love The Mandalorian though. I watched a film called Fresh, it was a bit mental and fun.

Yup comments hitting spam on my blogs too! Crazy times!

  10. I feel like I'm just starting to find my blogging mojo after it's been missing a while.

  11. Yes, I am having the same issues on my blog with spam, but they show up in my email, but not my spam folder, until a few days later!! I've reset everything and erased all my cookies and stuff, hoping that takes care of the problem. Yay for finding your blogging mojo! Have a glorious weekend!

  12. I’m self-hosted on WP and I have the occasional issue with posts going to spam too. I love The Nile River photo! It just looks like serenity to me. Have a great reading week ahead!

  13. My mojo has been on and off all year! But glad to see you back. I don't know if I'll get around to watching Obi Wan. I mean we know how it ends...
Love these walking tours you post.

  14. Yeah for the return of your blogging mojo, but boo for the new blogger commenting system. I have seen several bloggers mention comments going to spam. Would it help if you moderated?

  15. Me gustaron los videos y a mi tambien me pasa lo de los comentarios. Te mando un beso.

  16. Glad you're getting your blogging mojo back! And yes, Covid *is* still around. The return to supposed normalcy is causing so many new cases and repeat cases and long-term disabilities, and the CDC and media are downplaying it, which is part of the problem.

  17. Aw yay!! So cool to see that Vivid made your post!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your blogging mojo stays!! I'm still catching up from also not having any mojo 😅 Are you finding Kenobi any better 4 episodes in?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Kelp Forest looks cool but a bit creepy. Still have to catchup with the baby yoda one...

  19. I have some comments go to spam erroneously. Usually, it's on a post that is popular (like a Sunday/Monday post) or if someone comments on several of my posts quickly. Very rare is it actually spam, but they do catch a few of those as well.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Looks like comment issues are common. I'm hosted on WIX and discovered that it appears all my comments come to my email, BUT, they don't show up on the blog, so I don't always see them to reply. It's so frustrating! Hope we all get that figured out...... Happy Reading this week.

  22. In Poland, since the war in Ukraine, no one remembers about Covid anymore. We took off our masks and started helping.

  23. Yay for blogging mojo being back.

Here in the UK it's like there isn't a virus yet the case numbers are apparently going up. It's all kept under wraps though.

  24. We had our very first COVID scare in our family since this all started, after one of my colleague tested positive. We tested negative (twice this week) but we quarantined just to be sure. Am I paranoid? Maybe, but better safe than sorry. And masks have been slipping up around here too. I hope you have a great week ahead.

  25. I'm in Tennessee. I rarely see any masks. However when I went to the doctor's office, there was a sign that cloth masks are no longer allowed, and to ask for a surgical mask at the front desk. So everyone was wearing surgical masks.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Glad you found your blogging mojo again! That's always a plus side! I feel like every time I got out there are a few people who will wear a mask, but not as many as it was two years ago when it was mandatory. Though with numbers are on the rise again, I feel like that might change.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm glad you found your blogging mojo! I'm still wearing my mask when I'm at indoor public places. Usually, I'm the only one wearing a mask.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I literally know three people who have Covid right now (I haven't had contact with them) so I do still mask up in stores, but not at work. Luckily I'm an introvert so I have no desire to go out in places with big crowds😁

    ReplyDelete
  29. Covid is definitely still here - as my husband will tell you. Lol. We do mask up indoors in public places, like stores and things, but I don't see too many other people doing it in our area.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm glad your blogging mojo is back, Greg:)). And yes... we are still dealing with Omicron - my sister went down with it only last month. We still put on our masks in shops, but most aren't anymore. I hope you have a really good week.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Four posts Greg??? Wow! And here masks are only mandatory at the doctor, chemist and hospital. Everyone seems to have forgotten that COVID still exists. I still wear mine on public transportation though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't see a lot of masks around here, either, but we're still not safe. I know this because my granddaughter and her mother both tested positive...and they have been vaccinated, too. They haven't gotten second boosters...and I'm glad I did.

I bought some new sturdy masks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still wear my mask anywhere I go indoors. Every once in a while I see an older person wearing one but it's rare. Everyone just stares at me like I'm stupid. But no one ever took it seriously here. Oklahoma sucks. I've been made fun, told to take off my mask because I'm being 'unamerican' and other stupid stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's very rare for people around here to wear masks, but, yes, Covid is still with us. As for comments on Blogger...yes, some of my regular posters go to spam. Sometimes even after I approve them, they don't appear until I get them out of spam. It's weird.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi there Greg! Whoo hoo!! Your mojo is back. I am very happy for you. I feel as if my mojo are also due for a small break. Let's see what she's up to!

We still wear masks in public places and when we enter school. But we don't wear our masks in class anymore no.

I hope you are going to have a really awesome week and lots of posts lined up!

  37. Yay for the return of your blogging mojo. I have the will but neither the time or energy at the moment. Wordpress, com only seems to like comments from fellow WP users, the rest I have to approve... every single time.

  38. That spam thing happens every so often and I have to bring out the ones which went to spam. Covid is on the rise but nobody wants to talk about it. Several families in our neighborhood have covid; I know from the facebook page and their requests for someone to pick them up something at the store. We wear masks whenever we go out which we minimize being out. I stick to curbside pickup and wear a mask even tho it is outdoors. It will be even less this week since thankfully we did appts last week when it was 80s and this week will be around 100. Maybe I'll actually watch something on streaming!

  41. Congrats on getting your blogging mojo back! I'm still waiting for mine to be fully back heh. As for masks, here in Italy it's a bit of a "do whatever you want, but wear masks on the bus" kind of situation. Honestly I've gotten so used to wearing a mask, that I'm keeping mine on for as long as possible. I hope you figure out the comments situation. Have a wonderful Sunday and an even better week :)

  42. I guess Blogger/Google must have changed something again, because I noticed some of my comments over at my blog had been in the spam folder too, but it wasn´t visible to me that they had been "declared" as spam. Despite that, glad you got your blogging mojo back. Happy reading, happy writing and have a great new week, Greg.

  43. I was one who said I was going to wear a mask forever and ever. Nope. Stopped wearing one months ago, even though I kick myself and know that I should be wearing one. But really, the ONLY place I go is to the grocery store (and this week a couple other places, but one was the bank and I was the only customer and the other was the attorney's office and I was the only customer) and there's usually only a handful of people in there. I know I know...it only takes one infected person. I do not have a valid excuse. Just lazy.

  44. Ugh, yes! Covid is still a thing! The hubs and I just had a discussion about whether we needed to continue to wear masks as we just got over having Covid. I have a pretty hard line when I feel like I can do without masks (less than 5 cases per 100,000 for at least 2 weeks before I'll take mine off), so I was all for keeping it on. My husband didn't want to look bad if I wore a mask and he didn't, so he kept his on.

My husband also started Obi-Wan but I don't recall seeing him watch anything past the first few episodes...

  45. Yes just came from Melinda's blog and I see her comment above. Melinda did not enjoy having Covid and I don't want it so I am into masks. Good to hear your blogging mojo is coming back.

  46. I still mask. And, I'm glad to hear you got your blogging mojo back!

  47. So many details to tend to with blogging. Glad you are finding time to write!

  48. Mask mandates were lifted in my province in Canada about a month ago. Now, pretty much nobody wears them. I work in customer service where I see a lot of tourists so I wear mine still, I'm just not comfortable with having to be close to a person who might have just gotten off of a plane and not having a face covering.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I've been doing a bit better with scheduling blog posts ahead, but I need to get back at it before I'm out of posts again! LOL

And it's hit or miss if people wear masks where I live, but I do see some. I feel like a lot of people are getting it lately too, so that makes me a bit nervous.

  50. The UK (establishment) is pretending that covid doesn't exist anymore. No where is mandating masks, many are no longer bothering to even request masks. No distancing or attendance limitations at events... No mandatory isolation anymore. Nothing. It's nuts but it's life, I guess.
I've been super lucky (so far) and still haven't caught covid but I know it's just a matter of time... :(

Good to hear you've got your blogging mojo back on track!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I hear you about hit-or-miss masking. I keep hearing of new Covid cases too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I still wear a mask to some places, like the grocery store or indoor meetings. But otherwise, I go mask free, especially if we're outside. I have been double vaxxed and boosted AND I had Covid. If I have no immunity now, then not much is going to help me in the future. Yes, it's still going around. It's mainly like a cold for most people in my area.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm one that does still mask up. But seeing anyone else masked is so rare that I always notice. I have to attend a family wedding this Friday and I'm sure the husband and I will be the only ones masked. I've been having comments getting tagged as spam, too, especially over the last few weeks. So annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I converted to Disqus and I've loved that commenting system.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm still masking up most of the time, but I guess that's because I've mostly been at doctor's appointments and the hospital these days and they're all still requiring them. Yay for getting your blogging mojo back again! I started Obi Wan Kenobi as well and enjoyed it but I definitely think the first episode was the weakest of the ones that have been released so far.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I mask at the grocery store, last time I went I didn’t see anyone else wearing one which is doubly foolish because it’s directly opposite our local hospital, which means HCW, patients and visitors use it all the time.
I’m more of a Star Trek rather than Star Wars girl ;)

Wishing you a great reading week

  57. We only need to wear our masks for doctor visits or at the pharmacy. Some people do still wear them at the grocery store. I hear numbers have been going up around here, so I'm thinking maybe masks will become more needed again. I wouldn't mind wearing it more again, it took me a long time to feel comfortable again without one, so I'd probably feel more comfortable with one again quickly.
I only watched one episode of Obi Wan Kenobi so far yet and wasn't a big fan yet. But I'll definitely try more episodes too.
Hope you'll have a great week!

  58. I'm in an area that was pretty good about wearing masks. It dropped off after the mandates lifted butt still 50/50 ish. Now no one. I just got over covid and always wear one anyway but I am the only one.

I wore one to my physical therapy appointment. No other patients were. All the workers were but they ranged from flimsy - don't bother types to wearing them wrong. All of them.

  59. Can you share some of that blogging mojo with me? :-D

We're still wearing our masks most places but we are usually the only ones. I started going back to the gym and I just couldn't breathe if I wore a mask there so I don't. I do try to go at times that aren't busy and go to unoccupied areas. It still makes me a little nervous though. But I had to get moving again.

We've watched three episodes of Obi-Wan and I think it's boring. I thought the second episode was actively bad. We'll push through since it's such a short season but I don't have high hopes for it improving at this point.

    Enjoy your week!
