Hello friends. Hope your weekend is off to a good start. The big news for me this week is I have to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Yay!! I started having tooth pain last week but it got really bad over the weekend, so I went to the dentist and yup- wisdom tooth. I'm having it out on Monday so until then I have to rely on painkillers. They put me on Tylenol 3 since it was getting bad, although honestly I was getting best results from two aspirin. It would only last a few hours and the pain would be back with a vengeance.

I'm not too concerned since I've had wisdom teeth out before and it was a breeze. Either that or I just had a really good surgeon! Other than that, not much happening. My reviews of Jonny Quest episodes continued this past week and I had fun with Top Ten Tuesday. I'm thinking of doing a post where I poke fun at various covers- I had a lot of fun with that for TTT with some of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys covers. Might be fun...

  1. Argh. I hear you about the pain - it's definitely worse than the very process of having your teeth messed with! My wisdom ones came out VERY late and only marginally hurt in the process, but I had a cavity a few years ago, and I didn't suffer at all at the hands of the dentist - but I did before it was taken care of! As you said, painkillers only last a few hours, and then...YIKES. Good luck!

I love that Floating Land, especially since it features both a human and a few funny creatures LOL.

    1. Teeth pain is the worst! Although I think I had an infection because after a couple days the antibiotic kicked in and now I'm okay. :) Still gotta have it out though. Hopefully it goes smooth :)

      Thanks Roberta!

  2. I’m actually going for a consultation to see if I need my wisdom teeth taken out on Tuesday! I definitely know how you feel with the pain. Hope it all goes well!

  4. Not fun having to have a wisdom tooth out. Good luck!

  5. When you had your wisdom teeth out before, they didn't ask if you wanted them all out? My daughter had to have them all extracted, but my niece only had two. I don't know if I would want to sit for that again (I have all 4 still). Good luck. I hope it goes well.

    1. I don't think they did! It's been a few years so I don't remember for sure, but no... I don't think so. And ya if they don't bother you I say don't mess with 'em :)

  6. I love that observatory picture...

I had all four wisdom teeth taken out in one go, one of my bottom ones was coming in near horizontal, I remember being delightfully out of my face on pain killers.

    Hope all goes well!

    1. Ha I wish they had taken all mine at once rather than going one at a time like they have. And I know I had the nitrouss gas or whatever they call it once and I felt so weird, like I was gonna fall off the chair!

  8. I hope your tooth pulling goes smoothly! I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out at the same time. Life sucked for a few days, but they healed pretty quickly.

  11. Hi there Greg! I am as stupid as a rock - no wisdom teeth at all.... Never developed. I do believe that it is a blessing in disguise.

Oh please do the post with poking fun at the covers! That will be so awesome.

Hope you will have a good week! Check out my new and hopefully final template! I love it!!! The Sunday Post #9

  12. Sorry to hear about your toothache, Greg, but glad it should sorted out soon. My poor wisdom teeth are still buried in my gum as there is no room for them to come out! Oh well, I like to think that means I have some in reserve for when I'm old 😉😅 Take care and happy reading this coming week.

    Amazing artwork as usual! :D

  14. You have my profound sympathy, Greg! Tooth pain is grim... Best of luck having the wisdom tooth extracted on Monday:)). Love the version of We Will Rock You - it's a gem! And as ever, the artwork is sublime... Have a great week and I hope you don't need to spend too much of it recovering!

  15. A post making fun of covers would be fun - I really enjoyed your questions on the Tuesday post 😂

Sorry about the wisdom tooth - tooth pain is the worst. I had all 4 of mine out years ago and it was a breeze for me too. Hopefully all goes well!

Wishing you a great reading week

  18. I'm sorry about your wisdom tooth woes! My husband went to the dentist for some tooth woes and the office is kind of giving him the run around. I think they're stressed about COVID.

  20. Getting your wisdom teeth out is no picnic....sorry to hear you have been in pain. The meds they gave me made me sick but then the pain went away so it was bitter sweet lol

Love the covers of the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys books.

  21. Ouch ... I hope you will feel well again soon. Hope you are having a nice weekend anyway.

  22. Yikes, tooth pain. No fun. I hope your surgery goes well. I wonder if as much thought and money went into the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys covers as the books published today.

  23. Hope the surgery goes well! At least they'll definitely give you the good meds when it's over, right? Also THOSE PICTURES, every week they're more fabulous! ANd I love the idea of snarking on covers, always here for snark 😂

  24. All the best for that wisdom tooth. I had all mine out together when one impacted and thank goodness that that is all over. Hope you get a little convalescing in.

  25. I had one taken out earlier this year. I barely knew that it was happening and when he showed me I was quite surprised to see that it was already out!

Hope you have a similarly easy extraction!

  26. Our dentist is still doing emergencies only so I can't get my broken teeth fixed yet which is a real pain. How we took normal for granted before the pandemic hit...

  27. Tooth pain is the worst! I had my wisdom teeth pulled out when I was in my 20s -- like you said, not too bad. It will better than the pain you're in now. I like Sketches 003 and Emeralds this week.

  28. Cool version of We Will Rock you! :)

Sorry to hear about the wisdom tooth. I had an impacted wisdom tooth out a few years ago and must admit I was not a fan, lol. To be fair, they don't need to cut open and stitch your gum etc which they did with mine (as it hadn't broken the surface) so fingers crossed it goes quickly and smoothly! :)

  29. Ouch! Wisdom teeth. I still remember mine being extracted in the early 1970s, all at once! Wow, that was stupid, right? Pretty painful.

    Your method sounds better.

As usual, great images. I am drawn to that floating land.

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

  31. Sorry to hear about the tooth issue! I got my wisdom teeth out in late high school. I have very vivid memories of it, unfortunately! Lol.

  32. I hope the wisdom tooth extraction goes well for you and you get some relief soon! I had all mine removed under general anesthesia as a teenager. I mostly just remember that the days following were really hot (my parents didn't get air conditioning until after I moved out in my twenties) and I remember that I read The Bell Witch by Brent Monahan. I don't know if it was the painkillers messing with me but that book scared me to death and it's stuck with me for almost 25 years now!

The Beach Stroll picture reminds me of Haystack Rock in Oregon. I think it featured in The Goonies.

    Enjoy your week!

  35. I don't like anything that has to do with teeth. I wonder if people will poke fun of the book covers of today in 50 or so years from now.

  37. Good luck for the tooth!
Cool pictures! I love the mountain retreat.
Have been thinking of you: I have just finished an awesome collection of crime short stories by Ray Bradbury, yes! Before scifi, he wrote in that genre, and these stories were published in PULP (that's the connective word!) magazines. The collection is called Killer Come Back to Me - of course, not yet reviewed n my blog ! :-(
Its fantastic. I enjoyed it a lot, though short stories is usually not my cup of tea

  38. I hope the extraction went well. I've had two wisdom teeth removed (at different times) and I thought it was a breeze. I hope this one goes as easily as the others!

  39. Good luck with the wisdom teeth. I had all 4 of mine out at the same time and I thin that might have been a bad idea. lol

  41. Hope your extraction went well. They give adults such dire warnings of all that could go wrong. Mine a couple of years ago was a breeze.
