Tuesday Tagline #158

Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)

Why be the sheep when you can be the wolf?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is Top Ten Favorite Things To Eat or Drink While Reading. This is a fun topic but I don't really eat while reading? I will sometimes have tea or something cold to drink but I can't think of enough choices to make a list, so I'm going rogue. This list will instead be places I would love to eat or drink- as in imaginary places. I've been kinda wanting to do a favorite inns/ taverns post for a while anyways, so this is my chance.

The Lord of the Rings (The Lord of the Rings, #1-3)

The Green Dragon Inn of course! Even the name is great. Imagine staggering home through a peaceful Shire evening after overindulging at the Dragon. Sign me up!!

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1)

The Wayfarer crew mess, with Dr. Chef's amazing cooking and the view- they have that amazing hydroponic garden/ space view thing going. I imagine it a little like this

Mos Eisley of course! After all, all the best pilots are there.

Back to Middle- earth at The Prancing Pony.

A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5)

Here's a twofer from Braavos.

The House of the Seven Lamps

The Inn of the Green Eel.

Just watch out for little waifs.

  1. Oh I love this topic! There are so many great ones in sci-fi and fantasy!!!

I don't really eat when I read either, so had to do a different topic as well.

  2. I would be down to eat and drink in Middle-Earth! Those hobbits would drink me under the table though. :D

  3. What an excellent take on the prompt!
I can think of so many fiction places I'd love to visit to try the refreshments. Like pretty much anywhere mentioned in Harry Potter haha. I'd love one of Mrs Weasley's dinners.

  5. That is a super cool twist on this week's topic! I would have to think carefully about this but, on top of my head, I would have to say the Two Whales Diner in Arcadia Bay (from the Life is Strange video game).

  6. Oh I LOVE LOVE that tagline! And your take on this week's topic is genius! The Prancing Pony!

  8. I'd be nervous in Mos Eisley. Maybe if I just kept my head down and stayed quiet. And The Last Resort from Total Recall. Now there's a blast from the past. LOL And Gilly's! Oh my gosh, that movie... my family and I still quote the cheesy lines ("I'm sorry back to the first time I hit you." What a guy! LOL)

  10. So I'm totally on board with anywhere Harley is as I love her. Also, Pop's would be fun. I always wanted to visit Gilly's. I think it's because when I was young, my parents forced their love of country music on me.

  11. Omg, I love your take on this week's prompt! 😍 I'm even more interested in reading Becky Chambers' books now! That hydroponic space garden looks awesome. And YES I've wanted to have a burger and shake from Pop's ever since I started reading Archie comics in middle school! Such a great list, Greg :)

  14. I like your spin on the topic! I also don’t eat while reading. It’s too messy. I would enjoy eating with hobbits, though. They have all the good food.

  15. I would be sacred to eat in the GoT world!
    I loved Grave Mercy!

  17. I usually just have chips or something like that to nibble nearby. If I have something more then I eat it first then read.

Grave Mercy - loved that one! Have you read it?

  18. I like how you twisted the topic this week! I went completely rogue because I'm usually drinking water and that would be boring.

  19. Oh yes, Debra Winger riding the mechanical bull, best part of the movie.

  20. What a fun twist to this theme! I'd go to Mos Eisley if you could guarantee that Han and Chewie would be there. :D

  21. Hahaha so you're a Harley fan Greg? Me too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would definitely get a milkshake at Pop's and read!

  23. The good news is you can actually go to the Star Wars cantina now.

  24. First of all, Grave Mercy is a wonderful book :) I love what you did with this week's topic. I don't really eat while I read either.

  25. I'd like to visit The Green Dragon and The Prancing Pony myself. :)

  26. I don't really drink anything while reading (if I did it'd probably be in the winter, and a cup of something hot), so I would never have been able to dream up a list; but this spin is fun! I have no doubt I could have found some fictional places I'd have liked to stop at for a bite to eat. :)

  27. The Green Dragon Inn, yes I'd be up for that.
The Prancing Pony however I'd pass... I don't imagine it'd be all that great.

I'm not a big muncher while reading either although I always have drinks on the go.

  28. Tsk, tsk, going rogue!

I love the cover and the red dress. Part of me wants to time travel just for like, an hour to medieval times or the Renaissance to wear something fancy, then leave again before I started a riot for spreading feminism and other heresies...

  29. Great twist! I'd love to eat at Bilbo's hobbity house minus any Dwarves and their bardic outbursts. 😂

  30. I love that tagline for Grave Mercy! I love your take on the week's top ten topic. You've chosen a number of places I wouldn't mind eating either.

  31. Oh the Wayfarer crew mess is a good one. I'd like to eat there as well :D
