So last week we talked Pretty in Pink. Let's talk discussion posts. Do you miss those? I guess they're still out there but I don't think you see as many. I used to write them. I kinda miss putting those up. 

Clearly Benny has issues with my Steff/ Andie shipping.

    What would you call a "discussion post"? I mean, what are the particulars you would need to see in a post to it that?

    I've been neglecting discussion posts for ages (except for my sporadic participation in the Tell Me Some Tuesday meme...I suggest lots of topics, but then I go on hiatus and never answer my own questions LOL). They're too much work...then again, I love them, and I do my best to participate in the discussions my friends come up with...

    Discussion posts are always interesting...especially about movies and books too..and hey, even songs 🫠

    Really, such a cool bookcover this week! Somehow or another I have been seeing so many prepper videos in my YouTube feed. It has me wondering about a lot things happening in the world. Then I saw only one video of the coffin homes in Hong Kong and that creeped me out. Although, when I think in America what is becoming our Motel 8's and 6's, shelters for the homeless in our midwest towns. So think twice when you go to one of these budget places. Add in the horrific weather happening from the heat to the freaky flooding. I think we could come up with something that might out do Cocaine Bear at the box office..oh, yeah, there's an Actors & Screenwriters strike going on too. We might just have to film it and put it on YouTube.

    I hope you have a good weekend. Got a margarita going already. Raining. But it's still humid.

      This week's lyrics has quite an intro. I can see it being very inspiring for some science fiction! Have you ever been inspired to write a short story from a song? That can be fun. Do you listen to background music when you write? Thanks for these lyrics. Honestly, I wasn't familiar with the name. All this time, I thought somebody else sang this song..of course, I can't remember the name, either. Thanks for giving me a smile this morning 💗

    I don't mind discussion posts as long as they are deep and in good fun. Personally I stay away from any posts on controversial topics though. Nothing wrong with bloggers or commenters partaking in them, but I hang out in the blogosphere to get away from the headaches of real life, so I don't want to add more to my plate by reading about them!

    I kinda miss discussion posts as well! Maybe we just need to find a theme, everyone write a post and then we go visit and discuss? I'd absolutely be down for that xD Love this week's pulp cover as well! I hope you have a good week :)

    I like discussion posts. I find that asking questions in my posts generates alot of interesting comments.
    Benny was so mean in that movie. I feel like so many of those 80's coming of age films had bullies like her that were just brutal.

    I never really got into discussion posts much. I think that sometimes its just difficult to find topics that everyone has something to say about.

    I don't think many people are interested in discussion posts. I have tried putting them up on social media sites, and unless they have pictures from my family, they get very little comments.

    I think discussion posts are awesome but I have struggled to do many unless there were topics I really wanted to analyze or consider. I've covered things like audio players (Audible, iTunes, Hoopla, Libby, Overdrive, Libro, Chirp, etc.) and I did one in the last year on ratings and how I decide them (how much is subjective vs. objective). I'm sort of doing one with my survey into social media in a way.

    I like discussion posts, but I haven't done one up. It makes me nervous like I'd pick a topic people wouldn't connect to. I don't know. I should give it a shot someday.

    Love Olivia Newton John's music so much! A Twist of Fate wasn't a very popular movie but I liked that song. I think I liked the movie, but maybe that's because it was her and John Travolta. Wanted to see that pairing again after loving Grease. I was in 2nd grade when it came out, lol! Have a great week, Greg!

    My dude. I host a whole challenge for Discussion Posts. I mean- I don't ever get around to them myself, but shhh that isn't what we're talking about.

    I can't even join in the movie debates because you know how I am with movies, and that is very bad. (Apparently I am not any better with lyrics because idk them either whoops.)

    I always mean to do more discussion posts and then I just never do it. I guess I found a routine and just kind of stick with it. I might need to mix things up a bit soon though.

    I love a good discussion post but agree with you that I rarely see them. If I do find one, I usually jump in. I haven't attempted any myself since I can't seem to settle on a topic. I also feel like it helps to have a pretty wide readership to actually get people to respond, which you certainly seem to have. Go ahead, post one - I'll join in. :)

    I sort of groan when I see a discussion post now. There are only so many topics, lol, and they felt very repetitive to me. Plus they can come off as bragging, like the person writing the post is the authority of that subject. I guess I don't like them, lol! Have a good week, Greg😁

    I miss the book blogger events I used to participate in, like Bloggiesta and June Is Audiobook Month. I think there were always a few discussion posts involved, but there was an overarching theme and they were multi-day events. It's hard to remember to circle back and keep up with a randomly started discussion, unless you're the host, I guess.
    I never heard of Tell Me Some Tuesday, though!
