Sunday Post #503

So this week I posted 2 chapters of Camping. I'm having a blast with this story. I'm just writing it as I go. The premise is out there and that's part of the fun. But I keep having ideas and seeing concept art that inspires me. Anyways I'm also looking for a new show.

In other news has anyone heard of Royal Road? I'm looking for a site to post fiction and I've heard it focuses on SF/F. I only heard about this week, I've mostly heard about Wattpad. Anybody have any insight?

Not Bad Betty Cooper GIF by Lili Reinhart

Here is this week's lyric.

I got it bad
You don't know how bad I got it
You got it easy

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

You see, you don't have to live

   Song of the week

PULP COVER OF THE WEEK:

I want to highlight some art that just screams to be a story. Some of the art from Youtube ambient channels is awesome. This one actually inspired my Camping story.

These are fun. A car chase from the Bond movie For Your Eyes Only. It takes place on Corfu and below it is someone recreating the route.

  1. I am really disappointed in myself. I should have recognized a Tom Petty song. Good luck with your writing. It's wonderful to see you enjoying it so much

  2. Mrs B is a reviewer on RR. That's about all I can tell you about it. She'll occasionally read me a paragraph or two of what she's reading and it never turns out well. So we have both learned it's better if I just remain in ignorance, hahahaha :-D

  3. Some attitude on your post today. I like it. The videos are fun to watch

  4. Oh..why didn't I know that one about Tom..dang... I actually got to see him live in concert. It was only an accident. I got to go when someone had to leave town and they wanted to make sure the ticket got used. It was an amazing concert! >>>>>>>>>>>> Honestly, I don't like Wattpad, but if you gotta lot a friends there already..it helps. I hope you can find a science fiction place, but if not..it's great to find your readers here, too. I hope you say inspired and continue.

Here's to a lovely weekend. Yes, I had my tacos and my margaritas too! Behave yourself....hahahahahaaaa...

    1. My T keeps getting stuck on my keyboard..or it's probably just my fingers, but that alone can get annoying when I think I have a complete thought..just to look back and see..I meant the instead of he.
All the best at getting your story out there. Keep writing 💗

  16. I'm really hooked on Gotham Knights right now. And if you haven't given the new Quantum Leap a try, I thought the first season was great.

Of course, my tastes seem to be the opposite of many people, so take my recommendations with a grain of salt.

  17. Oh ... it's Nik Kershaw but I don't remember the name of the song! I've been watching 911 which I'm enjoying, but I did have to take a break for a bit. It's on Disney+ Have a great week :)

  20. I blanked on the Tom Petty lyric but I knew this week's clue immediately. :) I can definitely see how that graphic was the inspiration for the Camping story.

Thank you for the videos - the 2CV chase brought back some happy memories:)). I hope the coming week is a good one and the writing continues to bring loads of pleasure, Greg!

  32. This week's lyrics rang a bell, but I couldn't place them, so I googled them...argh! I should have! That's a song I'm very familiar with...

I don't know what RR is, but to be honest, I don't think you need a place where people can be mean to you for no reason when you have us 😉.

  33. I keep having thoughts about writing, but never get around to actually sitting and taking time to do it. Hmm, you've probably already watched the shows, but I started Red Rose on Netflix. Not sure when I'll go on watching, but it was at least interesting the first episode or two. What about Eureka that was on SciFi? I'm guessing you probably watched that one. It was one of my favorite shows. Hope you have a good week!

  36. Bond always had the best car chases, but I don't remember it being so cheesy, lol! Glad to hear the writing bug has bit you and it's working out!

  37. I really like the mix for song of the week. I'm also glad to hear you're having fun with your writing project. Have a great week!

  38. I guess it's what makes it fun, right? Writing as you go. It's harder for me because I'm one of those people who needs to have the entire story planned before starting to write it. I'm really enjoying what you wrote so far, so I look forward to the rest of this story!

  39. My son used to post his Dr Who fan fiction to Wattpad but I don’t know if it’s still a popular site

Wishing you a happy reading week

  40. I love that someone recreated that car chase, lol. I think I've seen another video a long time ago with the same idea. Hope your week is good, Greg!

  41. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of it so I'm not much help :-/ from the other comments, it seems quite positive though. I'd give it a try if you was thinking about it :) Best of luck!

  43. I haven't heard of Royal Road before and can't be of much help. I do hope you find a site you like where you can share your writing! Thank you for sharing the videos. I enjoyed seeing the James Bond routes re-visited. I hope you have a great week, Greg.

  46. I *have* heard good things about Royal Road (and have read 1 of the stories too there), but I think that's a very niche audience. I know people post fanfiction at Archive of Our Own, not sure if that works for original fiction too?

  47. I've only ever heard of Watpad too. Good luck with it!

  50. Keep up the writing, Greg! I do love those ambient fantasy world videos. So well done, at least those I've seen! Your pulp cover winner reminds me of a comic book I'm currently reading which features similar pulp covers, it's called Gun Honey. :D
