Sunday Post #494

Last week I mentioned my post Movies That Suck Lake Placid that was flagged for having possible Sensitive Content. I reviewed the Community Guidelines and I honestly can't find the problem. I did use a little profanity and quoted a few choice lines from the movie, but it's nothing worse than I've seen on other blogs.

In other news is a big winter guard competition this weekend so traveling will be involved.

Here is this week's lyric.

I'm standing here on the ground

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

I've paid my dues

  1. It's so strange that they flagged that post! Who knows why. Hope you have a good weekend, Greg. :D

  2. That book cover design is so cool! I love the tone and the vibe from it.

  3. It's really annoying that they would flag a post and not tell you why specifically!

  4. It's wild what they come up with to flag something. I dunno. Well, our snow went south and it's been really warm the last few days. Although, we might get a snow shower or two tomorrow..maybe. Love the bookcover. Oh, it's got such great character.

Oh, I love the intro to that song for next week's song! It's epic. I always thought it would be great for the start of a movie..like the spaceship taking off. Too bad they can't make a musical from this group's body of work. It would definitely be magical. Too bad the lead singer couldn't have played Mick Jagger in a bio pic when he was young.

Hope the weekend goes well for you! thanks for your comments!💖💖💖💖💖Glad you liked the SWEET mix too!💖💖💖💖💖💖

    1. Some had said he would have been perfect playing the lead in THE DOORS biopic film. Hopefully, more will discover this band. They did some worthy songs. Always inspiring to me. Thanks for your comments! I hope you have a good weekend. I'll be at the library. Aw..I did see Magic Mike's Last Dance. Hope I get a review up soon.

  6. Winter guard! Didn't realize you were involved in that. :) Our HS just started winter guard again after a long break from it.

  8. The flag may have been a glitch because I found a post from January that disappeared. 😯

Have fun at the Winter Guard competition. I've always loved watching them. 🏳🏴

Have a wonderful new week. ☀

  9. Yeah, I read that post, and it might have been a random thing...maybe someone reported it, or the flagging police was randomly reading posts and found yours LOL.

Are you participating in WG or going as a spectator?

"A taunting temptress totally without morals" 😂 WTF?

  10. That's crazy they flagged the Lake Placid post. I love Queen, Freddie Mercury's voice was amazing. Sometimes I just blast my Queen playlist while I'm working. Enjoy your weekend!

  11. Another fun music reminder and a cool cover - interesting color choices with the background and woman's hair color. Have a terrific week.

  12. I hate when you get flagged, but they don't tell you what exactly the issue is. It took me many rereads to figure out what the issue was with one of my Amazon reviews. So frustrating. That's a oldie, but a goodie (if I am right). I actually saw that band live in 1989.

  13. Sounds like someone with a stick up their bum reported the post and the powers that be don't really care to actually investigate reports like that. Sorry that happened to you. Have a great weekend. - Katie

  14. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the flagging. I just love Queen, such an iconic group. Have a great weekend, Greg

  15. Have a good weekend, Greg! I guess haters will be haters lol, glad your post didn't get taken down at least.

  16. That's crazy that they didn't tell you why the the post was flagged. One would think that would be useful information! No Sense of Shame looks like a Bond cover. Have a great week!

  17. What gets flagged and what doesn't is so random. That makes it all the more frustrating, doesn't it?

Enjoy the travel for the winter guard competition.

  18. I just got flagged for 3 different post, Greg! One was for sensitive content, one for promoting illegal activities and one for malware and viruses! Two were from 2015 and one for 2014! Not sure what the deal is. Not sure what to do about it. I didn't think your post was offensive at all.

  19. I read your post too and had no idea why you were flagged Greg!

  20. several bloggers have been flagged recently. Somebody's getting picky, lol. Have a good week.

  22. It's getting to where you can't say anything without being flagged, but to flag that post is dumb.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  24. This is the first time I've heard about a post on blogspot being flagged. It has me a bit concerned about how strict blogspot will get with their rules.

But, I hope you have a great week!

  25. That really stinks, there isn't much rhyme or reason to flagging of content most of the time. Hope your Winter Guard has a great competition!Go Guard!

  26. I used to be in winter guard many years ago and loved it. I remember WGI very fondly! Have a great week!

  27. Hm. I had a review on one of John Scalzi's books taken down for 'unsuitable content'. And I've been through it with a fine toothcomb and blessed if I can discover what they objected to. I tried to get in touch with someone to talk about it - but no joy. So annoying!! Have a good week, Greg.

  28. I once had a social media post deleted because it apparently didn't meet the standards. It was a post saying that I had watched the movie Monsters, Inc. I guess it was too scary for someone. LOL. Have a great week. :-)

  29. Your blog is the last blog I'd ever flag for sensitive content. Maybe some random reader flagged it just because they wanted to cause issues. I hope that's not the case and I hope it gets resolved quickly!

  30. How frustrating not to know why your post was flagged. That's so annoying. At least give you a real reason. Hope you have a great week!

  31. They flagged one of your posts? That sounds bad. Hope you can figure out why. Have a wonderful new week, Greg.

  32. Wow! I'm curious why your post was flagged. One of my reviews of a zombie movie was flagged. Why? I probably irritated someone since my assessment of the film differed from theirs. I had to take it down. I suppose free speech no longer exists.

  33. Now that I know what song those lyrics are from I can hear that part of the song! lol It's crazy when things get flagged a lot of times these days. Hopefully that didn't cause you any other issues! Have a great week!

  35. I read your post about Lake Placid and did not see anything either. It's a mystery sometimes what they flag. I hope you have safe travels and I hope the winter guard competition goes well. Have a good week, Greg. Take care!

  36. Enjoy the traveling! Queen is classic. Have a great week!

  37. That's crazy about your post getting flagged. Seems like it would have to be something egregious to be noticed/flagged. I finally recognize a lyric! lol Love me some INXS. :)

  38. I think I remember reading that your daughter is involved in the competition? Stay safe on your travels, hoping for good weather going forward.

  39. It's bizarre how they are flagging stuff. Another friend had a couple things flagged from 2013. I mean if people have been seeing it for 10 years already WTF? I hope you have good weather for your travels.

  44. I too had a post flagged.. it was year old and a link up of sorts about a blog award.. it was strange for sure.

  45. I've seen a lot of flagging lately. I find that very odd.

  46. That's weird. I hate how there's no resources to find out what the exact problem is or how to resolve anything. We're totally at their mercy.

  47. That's very weird that one of your posts was flagged.

I was a band geek in high school. My band director took the time to digitize all his VHS recordings of all the marching shows he had, upload them to YouTube, and share them on Facebook. It was so much fun to relive my "glory days!" Now he's doing the same thing for winter guard and winter drumline competitions. I wasn't part of those but I know everyone who was is excited to see them.

    Enjoy your week!

  48. It seems like Blogger is doing some really strange things. I love the pulp fiction cover this week!

  49. I wonder if the flagging is actually done by people at all. If it's only a Blogger thing, Google has probably set up a bot or designed an algorithm that is working its way through Blogger posts from the past to the present!

  50. How very annoying that they flagged your post!

  53. Sorry about your post. My "Mrs. Fletcher" review was just flagged for sensitive content as well and for the life of me I can't figure out what I did wrong. All I did was mention a few things that happen in the book but I didn't go into graphic detail. If this is what they're doing I'm just going to quit. If we can't talk about books with sex/violence/whatever I'm not even going to bother because my entire blog will end up flagged.
