Creatures of the Night Tag

I did this tag back in 2016 and first saw it over at A Dance With Books. Man, five years. I figure it's time to revisit- I only wish I had done this one back in October! But creatures of the night are always a hoot so why not revisit? If you want to see the original post you can find that here

VAMPIRE

The vampires in this one are scary.

WEREWOLF

Larry Talbot the original wolfman from the old Universal B&W classic monster movies. These movies were so atmospheric I'm not sure I can think of a modern werewolf movie that hits the same tone for me.

FAE

The fae are favorites of mine and there is no shortage of tales but I tend to like my fae a little on the dark side- dangerous or even indifferent at times to humanity. At the same time I do like a more whimsical side as well.

ZOMBIE

WITCH

DEMIGOD

I'm going with Dionysus from The Immortals, a book about Greek gods living in NYC

ANGEL

I don't know that I have any angel books??

PEOPLE WITH SUPERPOWERS

MERFOLK/ CREATURES FROM THE SEA

I added this one as I'm fond of merfolk. Have you ever stood on the beach at night listening to the waves roll in and wondered if there's anything out there? Imagine a night where the moonlight is shining on the water, or perhaps hidden behind clouds, and something strides from the waves. Or watches the shore.

  1. I love to read old folktales about these creatures, but I don't care for modern turns on them. Perhaps I just haven't read the right book.

  2. With all the sea creatures out there, I'd love to think that mermaids are real, too!

  3. There was a time when I devoured these books, but not these days.
However, I'm planning to watch a k-drama with lots of them (Sweet home) !

  7. I loved This is Not a Test. It was less about the zombies but still one of the scarier zombie books I've read. Or bleak.

  9. I LOVE the old black & white movies and have fond memorial as a kid staying up late at night on occasion with my dad and watching Frankenstein, Dracula etc.

  11. I'm not a big fan of zombies or vampires but I definitely want to try books with Fae and Merfolk. Adding both of those books to my TBR!
