Hard to believe Christmas is in a week! Happy Friday all! Hope everyone has a great start to their weekend. I have some shopping to do this weekend- I decided to go with the meatballs I mentioned last week, so I have to get some last minute stuff. Otherwise just a few gifts to buy. What is everyone's favorite part about Christmas? Do you have a fave holiday song?

I noticed this week that I added a few IG followers- and I haven't posted there in eons! I appreciate the adds though and I really need to get busy over there. Thanks to everyone who followed! I'm here.

This is a beautiful night tour with Christmas lights.

  1. I used to enjoy the gift exchange, the lights in everyone's windows and tinsel in my house. We don't bother with any of it now except the food!

  2. It's crazy how fast the year has been passing. Glad you are going with the meatballs. They sound amazing! I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday! Favorite holiday song? Hmmmm, I am very partial to Rocking Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee. It's a total bop, but The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole is another all-time fave.

  5. I can't believe next week is Christmas! I'm mostly done shopping and wrapping, but there's always something you've forgotten, right? I also have a few things I need to buy. Hope you have a wonderful holiday😁

  7. I can't believe it's the weekend already! Favorite Christmas songs: Mary Did You Know, God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, and that David Bowie and Bing Crosby version of Little Drummer Boy. :D

  8. Meatballs sound great, I’m already worried in case I forget to defrost the turkey on time! We go back into lockdown on the 26th as the new COVID strain is spreading quickly here, so this weekend it’s getting in those last few essentials.

    Have a great Christmas!

  9. I think the meatballs are going to be a great choice! We just finalized our Christmas day menu and it's a little different from what we normally do, so it should be fun!

    1. I'm looking forward to it. My aunt usually makes a marinara and Swedish version- I'm just doing marinara this year. Have a great Christmas!

  10. That Peter Pan art is beautiful! I make NOTHING because I am me, but meatballs sound good! My aunt usually does Christmas and everyone (like the "real" adults, of which I do not consider myself) go to her house to make ravioli, but obviously that won't be happening this year. So, my dad has decided that he is making Christmas dinner, and he is going to take Lena to the store to plan it next week when my mom and I take Sammy to his pre-op appointments at the far away hospital. Apparently my brother is coming even though my dad is still not talking to him. The JOLLINESS, Greg. It never ends. I have ZERO gifts to buy because I am a champ who always finishes shopping super early, BUT I have wrapped NOTHING, not a single thing, and now I want to cry hah. If we were allowed in Japan, I'd say let's go, looks nice there, why am I here with snow and unwrapped gifts?! But alas 😂

    1. Isn't it? That's actually a book cover (you probably already know this) but I love that art style. Anyway sorry to hear about your brother- hopefully him and your dad can patch things up? But either way hope you have a great Christmas!

  11. I just had my breakfast walking in Tokyo, thank you :) The Peter Pan poster is beautiful ! We don't watch Christmas programs or listen to Christmas music here, we concentrate on the food ^^

  12. Christmas this year has completely crept up on me, I didn't bother decorating or going to any trouble to be honest, it's just been that type of year. We'll be having Christmas lunch at home and looking forward to a quiet day of relaxing. I usually cook for the entire family every year and it'll be lovely to just have a break. I hope you have a brilliant Christmas Greg!

  14. Happy Weekend, Gorgeous Greg! All my gifts are done, but this postal situation has been a little bit of a bother. A few things I haven't received, and a few of the people I've sent to haven't received. I can't believe we're almost into another year, but 2020 has been something else! Yes, I'm that person who can truly sit and watch a burning fireplace, and I love yours. I enjoy watching the Hallmark Channel one on Christmas Day because there are kittens and puppies jumping around and having. My favorite thing about Christmas is to see the kindness of everyone, and to enjoy the festive light displays that people do. So many creative ideas. Really enjoying the Tokyo Christmas lights too. Meatballs it is! Hugs and hope that you are feeling well! RO

  17. Love that Peter Pan graphic. Look, Wendy - I can fly!! I did my last Christmas shopping this morning when I came from church and if anything is still amiss, we make do without it!

Have a good week my friend, sure we'll chat again. But by any chance we don't - have a wonderful and blessed Christmas! Enjoy those meatballs.

Normally I love spending time with family on Christmas, but as that's not possible this year, I'm planning on spending a lot of it watching cheesy Christmas movies with a hot chocolate and a cozy blanket :) Hope you'll have a great Christmas and happy holidays!

  21. I finished my holiday shipping this week and hopefully everything arrives in time. I watched a Tokyo walking video on Youtube a while ago with the Christmas lights, a different one than the ones you listed here I think, it looks so festive! Happy holidays to you and your family!

  22. "What is everyone's favorite part about Christmas? Do you have a fave holiday song?"
Oh, goodness, Christmas music gives me the jitters LOL. I'm a bit of a Grinch...pretty much the only things I like about Christmas are the lights, the extra money and getting a few festive days! It's great that you're feeling the spirit though. I hope your meatballs are delicious!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas this week with your loved ones. My favorite Christmas song is probably Tennessee Christmas by Amy Grant.

  25. I'm weird, I don't like Christmas songs, I think they are all so sad. Or at least they make me feel sad so I don't listen to them. Hey, I never said I was normal. I mostly us Instagram for entering giveaways. There are a lot of them on that site. Merry Christmas.

  26. Merry Christmas! I can't believe it's less than a week away.

    Favorite Christmas song...
I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. My grandfather sung this all the time when I was a kid. I also like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer as it's tied to a silly family tradition (first person to hear it got to go pick out an ornament).... and as horrendous as everyone finds it: All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey is a damned classic.
I like most Christmas songs actually, except for Last Christmas which I HATE in ALL forms.

  28. Yes, this is definitely the fastest and slowest going year ever. I love Christmas, and it feels like it is flying to us at the moment. My favorite thing is definitely being with my family and the cooking. I love the cooking :D

  34. Hope the meatballs are a big hit! This year is a bit different as all shopping and wrapping is done, looking forward to just relaxing these next few days before the celebration. Love watching the grandkids pass out the presents, as they hand them to the receiver, they say what they think the present it. Some guesses are hilarious.

  42. Our Christmases tend to be quiet, so this one won't be too different for us. One thing I do love that we do is Jolabokaflod where we exchange books on Christmas Eve. My husband just chooses something off my TBR bookcase and wraps it up! Ha! (Melinda @ A Web of Stories)

  50. I think my favorite part of Christmas is the build up to it, and not the actual day itself. I love Christmas songs--how to pick a favorite?! I hope you enjoy your Christmas and the meatballs. We will be having spaghetti, which we've done the past several years. My husband and daughter tried making bread this weekend and plan to make more for Christmas. This weekend was their test run. They did really good, if I do say so myself.

    Have a great week, Greg.

  56. The last image made me think of the time, almost exactly a year ago, that the transmission started going out in my car. We were in the absolute middle of nowhere in Big Bend National Park as the sun was starting to set. Luckily we were able to baby the car out of the park and we were planning to trailer it behind the RV from there anyway. Whew! That was a stressful night for such a serene setting!

    Merry Christmas!
