So we had a great invitational for marching band and color guard last week, the event was much better this year after having had sleet the year before! Otherwise this week kinda went by fast? I'm in the middle of Wilder Girls and the new Kathleen Baldwin book- they're both great so far. Oh, and the Bookish Games continue, and they are turning out to be quite entertaining. You can find all the action here. Last week we had cheese puns taking over the Game...

  1. I'm pretty amazed too that it's almost November! I hope fall lasts a little longer though, it's my favorite season and I'm not quite ready for snow and cold yet. Thanks for putting up that piece Secret Garden, letting me hold on to the warm weather a little longer :)

  2. Time has been flashing by for sure and it looks like we aren't going to get any work done on the garden before winter hits and that is disappointing. I'm thinking about getting to the garden centre and grabbing bags of gravel so we can at least get the front garden finished this year instead of waiting for this garden guy to find time to fit us in.

  4. I'm shocked that October is almost over! I always feel so stressed from now until the end of the year with the holidays, so I'm clinging to these last days before the mania starts😁

  5. Great scifi art this week! Glad to hear the marching band competition went well! Always better to march in nice conditions, as I remember from my marching band days.

  7. I can’t believe it’s almost November. The fall has flown by. I am curious about Wilder Girls, I will be watching for your review. Glad the marching band competition went well. I love Marching band events, especially the drum lines. My daughter just started band, so I am excited to see her grow.

  8. I think a band competition is much better, when the weather cooperates with you. Glad you weren't caught in sleet again.

  12. I've been enjoying all the colors of the season, and you're right Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Where in the world did the year go? I'm just holding out for some snow so I don't have to move to Alaska.(lol) Hope your day is amazing! Hugs, RO

  13. Oh, I love Charlie Brown stuff...the movies take me back to my kids enjoying them and singing along in sweet little voices. LOL.

Two of my kids gave me Charlie Brown birthday cards, exactly alike. I had to smile.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog..

  17. I really feel like I haven't even finished September yet. This year is flying by and the beginning was so slow. Next month is all about turkey and 100% Christmas. I am totally not ready.

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!
PS Charlie Brown was on this week, it never gets old, I love that halloween special!

  18. Glad the weather cooperated for the invitational. I was just saying to my husband this morning, "how is it November in a few days? How is that possible?" The month/year is flying by! Love the Charlie Brown gif. As a child I used to watch the specials religiously every year. :)

  23. This autumn has flown by!! So crazy. I love love October but I was so sick this month that I didn't get to enjoy it as much darn it. November is my birthday month and anniversary too, so I am looking forward to those events. Lol.

The Great Pumpkin! Love it. And I am glad you had a better marching band invitational - sleet would be no fun!

  24. You're right about the month flashing by faaar too fast! Where did it go? Glad the marching band and color guard went well last week - weather conditions tend to make a huge impact on these events, don't they? Thank you for a particularly lovely set of pics this week. Love Breeze and Black Market. Have a great week, Greg.

  25. I'm still trying to figure out that pulp cover lol

I feel like the whole summer and fall went by at a normal pace. I must be the only one. lol Maybe because everything is so new to me here still. Now I would love for the winter to zoom on by!

  26. The autumn weather just kicked in about two weeks ago here in Missouri.

I love the cover art for "Nightmare."

  27. Yeah, the weeks go by so fast. November soon is up and next thing you know it's 2020. As a teen I always thought that was such a futuristic year and would we even get there? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. The month of October seriously flew by, which reminds me that I haven't bought the first piece of Halloween candy yet. Need to get going on that asap!

  29. October has been here and gone and I can't even believe it! It might also have something to do with the fact that I am no longer in a job/school that was sucking the soul and life-force out of me, so that could explain why the year is also moving along briskly. But it also means my baby is growing fast too, so... *sigh* There's no winning either way!

  30. Smiling at how come we are almost in November. Weather does make a big difference to an outdoor event, good that it worked well for you all this year.

  31. It's crazy that's in Nov. already. Your art this week is awesome. So hard to pick a favorite, but I'm going with the last one.

  33. An invitational without sleet definitely sounds like the way to go! I love being in the middle of two books I'm really enjoying! I really want to try Baldwin. That series looks so good.

  34. I think we may just flow right into winter without an extended fall.

  35. the marching band thing sounds fun! And I'm glad you're finding some great books and having fun with the bookish games :-)

  36. I have to say as much as I loved helping with marching band. I don't miss all the work this year. It was a crazy amount of work for parents at my daughter's school. Love the artwork! I hope you have a great week!

  38. I'm with you, I can hardly believe that this week we'll be in November! I have no idea where time is going. It'll be Christmas soon... In fact, as soon as Thursday as passed I'll morph into raging Elf mode. 😂

  39. I'm glad the invitational went well - I guess after snow and sleet, it had to be better right? :)

I couldn't agree more, I cannot believe it's almost November! It's going by so fast. Before we know it, it'll be 2020!

Hope your week is off to a good start.

  40. Being in the south we don't get much of a fall - about a week or 2. We pretty much go straight from way too hot to way too cold. Every year I say I'm not turning my heat on until Nov. 1 and it looks like this year I'm going to make it as it is suppose to get cold this weekend.

  41. I think I'm in denial that it's November already... lol!
