This week's topic is a Halloween themed freebie. I had a hard time deciding what to do for this so I split the difference and went with both music and books. I like music that sets a certain tone or mood- the days get shorter, the leaves turn and fall, and the wind howls through the trees. Perhaps our mood changes with the seasons? So here are some song choices to set a certain mood.
SONGS
This is an instrumental track but I love how atmospheric it is.
Same here- these two songs go well together and are great at setting a mood.
Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Screams break the silence
Waking from the dead of night
Great atmospheric song choices! And you're right, Nightstruck would be a great Halloween read. It's not exactly scary, but it was definitely one of the creepier books I read this year. And I love those 13 covers!
ReplyDeleteThanx! I agree, a very good pick for Halloween. :)
DeleteI really loved 13 Treasures! It was just delightful. I still haven't read the other two books. Great list!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
I did too, and the rest of the series is good as well!
DeleteThe 13 series sounds awesome. I am going to add it to my TBR
ReplyDeleteI just read the best review of Kelley Armstrong's book recently -- I am so looking forward to what you think of it!
ReplyDeleteI just added City of the Lost to my wishlist...and that 13 Series looks pretty good too!!!
ReplyDeleteI just grabbed City of the Lost from Book Outlet and am waiting for it to arrive. I love The Lost Boys Soundtrack but my favorite is "Cry Little Sister." There is just something about it I find haunting. The 13 series has really great covers. Nice list!
ReplyDeleteCry Little Sister is very haunting! I almost used that one instead...
DeleteI love The Lost Boys! I need to listen to the soundtrack. Thank you for stopping by. :)
ReplyDeleteI do too. Thanx for stopping in. :)
DeleteI've only read the first book of the 13 series but really want to get to the rest. Haven't seen the Nightstruck book before but the cover looks great
ReplyDeleteThey get better I think, and the third one is very good.
DeleteI haven't heard of Night Struck before but it looks amazing! Definitely going on my TBR! Thanks for visiting my TTT
ReplyDeleteNightstruck is a trippy read and a great pick for this time of year.
DeleteI hadn't heard of Michelle Harrison; but I looked her up and there are two available on Audible, so my TBR just got bigger. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy them!
DeleteThe Lost Boys! Ozzy! Nice picks. I haven't read any of those books before though, but the Kelley Armstrong one sounds great. :)
ReplyDeleteThanx! The Kelley Armstrong was good, even if it wasn't paranormal. although she hints a bit...
DeleteGreat idea to add some music to this post :) I haven't read any of these books yet, but I really want to read some more Kelley Armstrong and those 13 Treasures books look really intriguing too.
ReplyDeleteThanx! Both the Kelley Armstrong and the books are really good.
DeleteThe Lost Boys! I love that film and the soundtrack has so much great music on it.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
It's awesome!
DeleteHa! I split between books and television this week so I love your take on the topic!! Ozzy is a total Halloween soundtrack master! And I love that you included Kelley Armstrong even though I haven't read that particular book. I need to read more of her work because it's atmospheric and I love that during Halloween-time!!
ReplyDeleteI love that song at Halloween- totally gets me in the mood. Although I can listen to it year round... :)
DeleteI love that you included songs! Great take on this week's topic! I'm really interested in Nightstruck so I'm glad you included it here. Great list :D
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten!
YES to Ozzy! That's a perfect choice. I've never read the Michelle Harrison books before, but I love those covers.
ReplyDeleteThey are great covers... and the books are pretty good too! And I love that Ozzy song- perfect for now! :)
DeleteMahalo for dropping by. Seeing that Lost Boys video took me back! I remember that movie. Oh boy. I'll need to check out that 13 series. I can't remember if I've read her work before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing both books and songs. Every single one of them is new to me!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Creepy music is always a must for Halloween. I personally like to listen to The Shining soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteThe 13 books look amazing! Love the covers! I really want to read that (or really any) Kelley Armstrong. I've heard fantastic things about her books.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite holiday, so I'm taking notes! I was looking for a good book on Audible to listen to while at the gym. I went with a Ruth Ware book...a spooky tale about a writer who goes to the woods for a weekend that goes wrong... I'm more into Alfred Hitchcock type of scary than the graphic stuff that passes for horror these days!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list, but I've been eyeing Nightstruck! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome list! I definitely need some good songs for the Halloween season!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT!
Catch you over @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog !
LOVE The Lost Boys!! Young Kiefer Sutherland was SO creepy. And hot. Plus I love all the Corey movies :)
ReplyDeleteThe Michelle Harrison books look really good; going to have to check those out! Manholes that come alive? I think Nightstruck might be a little too intense for me because I'm such a scaredy cat, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYess to Ozzy! I LOVE him and Black Sabbath! My partner went to see him live at the start of the year. So jealous I couldn't go..
ReplyDeleteThe Michelle Harrison books sound interesting! And I love the covers, very pretty
Great "twist" on this week's topic, Greg. Gotta' love the perfect music fitting the seasons. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.
I love The Lost Boys soundtrack. When I used to set up a haunted porch for the trick-or-treaters I played the soundtrack to the Tombraider video game. It was perfect, ha ha. :)
