Sunday Post #114
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
This was a beautiful week- sunshine with mild temps. It's full on autumn now and the combination of colored leaves and blue sky make this a favorite time of year. I had a good reading week but SciFi Month is approaching and I've got a lot of posts for that set up.
This week I finished Continuum S4 - what a bittersweet ending. I'm going to miss that show and those characters. And thanks to everyone for the suggestions last week- I think I'm going to give Orphan Black a try and a few of the other suggestions.
SciFi Month runs all through November- you can check out the details here. #RRSciFiMonth and @SciFiMonth.

That beach picture is so very tempting, we have different kinds of colors here, green, yellow and just a little orange. I hope you'll love Orphan Black, it's a riveting story and the main actress does a wonderful job. I *love* that winery video, not only is the recipe mouthwatering (I'll have to try it, thanks), but the estate is absolutely gorgeous ! Deviant art is superb, as usual and it always makes me laugh inside when I remember that Jabba the Hut was originally portrayed from Sidney Greenstreet. Have a great week-end, Greg :)ReplyDelete
Hey thanks for the suggestion last week! :) I just started watching it and so far it's very intriguing. I love a good mystery... Yeah that winery is a nice place, and some of their recipes aren't half bad either! :)Delete
Oh, that beach pic is lovely! Almost makes me wish it were summer again. Almost. :DReplyDelete
I still need to try Orphan Black; currently I'm binging on NCIS. I'm about 1/3 through season 8. I thought I knew but I'm learning new things as I watch.
That soup looks so good, mmm.
Have a great week!
Yeah I like this time of year... just not crazy about what comes after! I'm sorta between shows at the moment- after Continuum and Dark Matter I'm not really seeing anything that grabs me. I'm going to try your suggestions too...Delete
Awesome art as always and of course yay for Star Wars! What did you think of this weeks trailer? I am very excited!!ReplyDelete
I was pretty excited to see it! It looks great... although I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up. OK, too late. Just seeing those ships flying around, and the familair sounds... yeah I can't wait! :)Delete
Glad you've had nice weather... hope it continues without getting too chilly.ReplyDelete
Ohhhh... Continuum s4 - I'm waiting for that to arrive out on DVD. I hope it offers some closure!
Great photos! I hope you enjoy your books and movies...I'm not into Sci-Fi, but I'm glad you have some books to enjoy. Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a great week.ReplyDelete
Thank you, I hope you have a nice week too.Delete
I love autumn when the sky is clear to help show off the beautiful colors of the leaves, too, Greg! I hope the nice weather continues for you next week.ReplyDelete
I have read Need now, and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to see what you think of it.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading

That beach picture looks fantastic and is making me dream of lying on a beach with a good book. Hope you enjoy Maybe in Another Life as much as I did. Also I didn't realise that you wrote stories too, I will make sure to check it out! Sounds like a fun theme.ReplyDelete
I wrote it on a lark and thought I'd post it. Why not? LOL.Delete
Wonderful beach view. I am hating that summer has passed. Seemed like just yesterday it had arrived. Oh, well, the good thing is it will return again next year. :-)ReplyDelete

Orphan Black is great! Love the Star Wars pictures. Have a great week :)ReplyDelete
Weren't those temps last week amazing?!?!?! I loved it! That picture of what I can only assume is Great Bear is absolutely beautiful - the blue is so intense!ReplyDelete
Ha! Torch Lake Sandbar Party sounds disgusting :P It looks like Jobbie Nooner - we just have a river current and big barges to carry the pee away (blech!)
Have an awesome week!
The DevianArt pics are beautiful, Greg. And Torch Lake sandbar party looks and sounds like something to stay away from. I have to get busy with SciFi posts this week for SciFi month. It's nearly November...eek. Hope you have a great week.ReplyDelete
I agree, I can't believe how out of hand that got. I've been going up there for years and never even knew about it... and I'll be staying away. LOL.Delete
I love Orphan Black - hope you enjoy it as well!ReplyDelete
I loved the first season of Orphan Black, but I haven't had time to watch the following seasons yet, but I will make sure I do. I will have to look at the Sci-Fi Month information. It has been a great a fall weatherwise this year (other than the snow a couple weeks ago). Keep the Star Wars stuff coming. I finally got to your Blogging vs Real Life post and I loved it. Have a wonderful week.:)ReplyDelete
I watched a couple episodes of Orphan Black once it seemed rather confusing..lol. I never went back to it. I hope you enjoy it! I am so backed up on the shows I have DVRed...aaaah.ReplyDelete
Enjoy your reads!
Week in Review
I've watched two episodes and wasn't blown away by the first one, the second one got me kinda interested. :) I'll probably continue but it's not a must watch for me like Continuum or Dark Matter. But maybe I'll like it more as it goes...Delete
The weather this week here was gorgeous, we had one rather hot day that was a little confusing I think Mother Nature missed her coffee that day. I can't wait till it gets a little cooler and the crisp smell of the winter like wind. Oh it's my favorite time of year.ReplyDelete
I am so excited about Star Wars, the trailer gave me chills. I know I won't see it in the movies but I can't wait till it comes to TV. I need to watch all of them with the kids since they haven't seen them yet.
Have great week Greg! Happy Reading!
We've had gorgeous fall weather. Even today it's sunny and beautiful. I'll take it! Star Wars looks great, I'm skeptical with Abrams at the helm (I know some like him, other don't, I'm somewhere in the middle)- but yeah, the music and the ships flying around- it's hard not to be excited!Delete
Oh that blue is just stunning, gorgeous photo. Hubby and I have just started on Continuum, and I kept going with Blindspot, I wasn't sure but I'm enjoying it now. Have to say The Blacklist is freakin awesome, hope you give it a go.ReplyDelete
I've seen Maybe In Another Life on quite a few blogs, curious about it. Have a great week, looking forward to those posts.
I hope you like Continuum. The first season is good but I liked season 2 better I think (I think I said that about The 100, too). LOL. But I really liked the characters- Kiera and Fonnegra. And the twists and turns too. Oh, and Garza! She rocks, frankly. :)Delete
I love the surrealist paintings you are posting. They are amazing! I didn't like Orphan Black too much. But I only watch a couple of shows each year.ReplyDelete
Ooo Orphan Black is so good! Enjoy. I am loving the photos. It is chilly this morning and they all look sunny and warm. Have a wonderful week Greg :)ReplyDelete
NEED looks spectacular! I need that book in my life. :)ReplyDelete
Yeah I'm looking forward to it too. I've been waiting and it's almost out... :)Delete
Sounds like a pretty good week overall! Wanted to let you know that I finished The Deep End (Country Club Murders #1) and really enjoyed it. Hope to read Guaranteed to Bleed before much longer, too. Thanks for the recommendation :)ReplyDelete
Yay, glad you liked it. I hope you enjoy the next one too. I am loving this series, and can't wait for the third one!Delete
I'm afraid to go to DeviantArt because I have a feeling I'll get sucked in and never return. It's why I've not given in to Pinterest. lol Have a great week, Greg!ReplyDelete
The beach pictures are lovely though I don't know if I should be scared or reassured that urine levels didn't reach hazardous levels. It feels like if you have to say that there's a problem. I watched part of the first season of Orphan Black and loved it but just never got/made time to watch it. Enjoy your reading and I look forward to seeing your posts this week. You've got some interesting stuff coming up!ReplyDelete
I know it, that's gross isn't it? I just do not get the appeal of that. Maybe if I was younger... but I doubt it! Thanks, I'm looking forward t othis week too. Hope yours is a good one!Delete
I love the bright blue skies this time of year too. Not looking forward to the gray, cloudy days of winter though. Can't wait to go see Star Wars. I just finished watching the first season of I Zombie and am now watching The Walking Dead. Looking for something new to start too. There's so many to pick from.ReplyDelete
My Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/10/25/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-133-and-the-sunday-post/
Uh, yeah, I don't care if the levels aren't high at Torch Lake, I still wouldn't want to be out in the middle of that human soup. Hope you enjoy Orphan Black. iZombie is another good one.ReplyDelete
Me too, way out of hand. I like my lakes a little less... polluted we'll say. :)Delete
Thanks for the recommendation!
I love the art pictures you posted this week. I think my favorite is one with the trees and path with the castle in the background. Awesome! I am looking forward to reading your story on Tuesday.ReplyDelete
Thanks Karen, this should be a fun week. I like the one with the trees too, one of my faves.Delete
I love this post! This is exactly what I've been missing on my blog! I loved the video about the top ten sounds. Only the sounds of a lightsaber could be Darth Vader's breathing!ReplyDelete
Fabulous post! Cannot wait for more :D Have a great week!
Thank you! Glad you could come by. I liked that video too... :)Delete
It's full on autumn here too, although the temperatures went a bit up, the trees are very orange now. I hope you'll have fun with sci-fi month! I don't watch as many series, but we just finished watching Star Trek Voyager and are now startign Deep Space 9.ReplyDelete
I've heard great things about Orphan Black and I need to watch that too. But lately I haven't been in the mood for watching TV so I'll just wait until everything is on Netflix lol. October is almost over so that means Star Wars is getting closer! I can't wait!! Have a great week Greg!ReplyDelete
You too! It's not on Netflix so I had to pay for the first two- I liked it okay but not enough t okeep buying them, so maybe I should wait til they're on netflix too, or maybe Hulu. We;'ll see...Delete
Fall is beautiful in my part of Ohio too with the hills and trees. I've been enjoying all the color though I'm sad that the weather is getting cooler. Today I wore a sweater to church but thankfully it did warm up as the day went on.ReplyDelete
Your cat story sounds interesting. I'll have to stop back to read it.
Eww, poor Torch Lake! I've been seeing Maybe In Another Life around. It looks interesting. Soon those beautiful leaves will be falling! Have a great week.ReplyDelete
Good that you had a good week of weather, not to be sneezed at! Hope some new TV shows take the place of one that is finished. It is always sad to say goodbye to one that's good.ReplyDelete
Enjoy those reads, and hope the two cats haven't been given a too hard a time!
And here I thought November was Nonfiction November! Well, let's try for both a little nonfiction and a little scifi.ReplyDelete
Such a lovely blue sky in that photo. I'm curious to see what you think of Orphan Black. I've been eyeing it for a while.ReplyDelete
I've got an egalley of Need. It looks pretty good! You must be so enjoying all the little Star Wars previews and teasers out there. Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post earlier!ReplyDelete
so said to hear Continuum only got 4 seasons ;( I have not watched it yet, but I was planning to with hubby, I guess it's just watching the entire show nowReplyDelete
Those are some cool images you added to your post here, Greg. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great week and happy reading to you.ReplyDelete
I am loving this weather and the beauty of it. It's like the world is on fire with all the oranges and reds and yellows - I love it. I hope to get out with my camera this week for photos.ReplyDelete
My husband just joined a scifi book club - I am going to send him your blog link so that he can look at some different titles!
Oh those pictures are really nice!ReplyDelete
I hope you like Orphan Black. I've enjoyed the show thus far. I've wanted to watch Continuum but haven't had time to get caught up on the shows I do watch, and way behind on.
Have a great week!
Maybe In Another Life seems to be getting a lot of love this week. Thanks for sharing! :)ReplyDelete
