Sunday Post #40/ It's Monday. What Are You Reading?

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
This week has been spring break for us, and we didn't go anywhere- just stayed home and took day trips. That was nice though, we had a lot of fun and were home every night. Man, did the week go by fast! We went to the zoo one day, and took a trip to the lakeshore to see the ice on Lake Michigan. I hope to get some pictures of that up soon. There are a lot of beach towns on this side of the state and we went to Grand Haven to spend the day, got pizza at one of my fave restaurants over there and then found a great little coffee house- which we didn't really want to leave. All in all a pretty good week. In other news, I was nominated for the Liebster AND the Sunshine award last week- thanks to Jessica at Tales between the Pages and Ericka at Highway-Y.A. I appreciate that and nominated a few blogs of my own- please check out my post here. And please go visit Jessica and Ericka- both are great blogs and a lot of fun.

In reading news, I totally went off plan and grabbed a new book to read. My current reads just were not grabbing me. So I picked up Panic by Lauren Oliver and liked it a lot. Review here.

  1. I almost posted the same video about KFC and GoT! LOL! I am annoyed about Allegiant being made into two movies. Really that book DOES NOT need to be split! GAW!

    1. I know it- can't believe they're doing that. Such a money grab. I haven't read the books but I can't imagine why they would need two movies to tell the story. So irritating... that video cracked me up!

    2. Honestly, I was not surprised when the news broke about Allegiant. And I agree, Greg, why do they need to do two movies. There's not that much going on in book 3.

  2. I remember when everyone thought my group of friends was weird for saying Hail Hydra anytime someone said 'hydra' now look at them, lol! I'm so disappointed that Allegiant is being split in two...that book was so fraking boring. I'm glad the movie industry is more interested in YA books, but I want the to stop splitting the final books it's rarely necessary.

At any rate. It sounds like you've had a lovely week and I hope you enjoy this one as well! Thanks for dropping by my blog Greg!

    1. I think it's funny how everything dorky is now like super popular and all over pop culture. And I know about Allegiant- that's just wrong. I'm with you, it's nice that they are adapting these books but then to make people wait a year to get part 2... I don't think that's going to make people happy!

  3. I'm currently wishing I had spring break right now, but that was weeks ago, which is highly unforunate. .-. But I'm not sure about Allegiant. There seems to be a funny trend with endings of book to movies being 2 parts. Not surprised. :p

    1. I've heard both good and bad things about Panic, but you know I really liked it. Not perfect, but definetly fun and kept me turning pages. It's sorta structured by days- so some things will happen, then we fast forward a few days or a week to see what happens next. I liked that. And Stardust I want to read too, like the premise of that.

  5. Well, if they're going to split The Hobbit into 3 movies (seriously?!) then there's no stopping them. If the Harry Potter movies were being made now...yeah. *shudder* Our Spring Break starts Weds since they had ice days to make up. Assuming the weather stays nice we'll hit the zoo, the Natural Science Center and Winter Soldier. Have a great week! :)

    1. Yeah it all started with The Hobbit, unfortunately. Sigh. It's ridiculous. Hope your spring break is good, and enjoy Winter solder!

  6. I'm not happy with Allegiant being split into two movies either. It seems unnecessary! I just hope they will do it right. You've got some really good books and I cannot wait to see what you think of Legacy of the Clockwork Key! :)
    Great post!

    1. I really liked the Marhta Wells book, and hoping the sequel will be good as well. The first one was a light, easy read with some cool moments. And Clockwork Key looks like fun I need to get going on it!

Glad you're liking your new site so far- I'm sure it will be even more awesome when Para does her thing!

  9. I was so disappointed in Allegiant, it didn't hold my attention like the others and no way should it be split in two ... just money-spinning!! Glad you enjoyed Panic.. Have a great week and happy reading :)

    1. I've heard that about Allegiant, it's baffling to me that a book wirth so little going on (or so I've heard) can be stretched into two movies. They might be going overboard with all this two movie stuff. Panic was fun. Have a great week too!

    1. Hilarious. It's been fun to see the reaction on Twitter and elsewhere to something I read all those years ago- I remember the first time I was shocked by thee books. :) At least they killed off someone bad for a change, right?
