Sunday Post #568

 

I went to C2E2 last weekend and had a great time in Chicago. This was my first time at this convention and it did not disappoint. It was mostly a cosplay convention from my standpoint although some of the people I was with made out well with comics and signings. I've shared some pics but Imgur doesn't let me share any videos longer than a minute so my best stuff isn't loading 😑. Found a couple fun places to eat too. If you're ever in Chicago the Parlor Pizza North is yummy.

    Looks like an epic time. Those 2 building are like Modern meets nostalgia. So awesome that you had a great time. Oh, love the Chill playlist! And a very cool bookcover too!

    Sounds like an awesome first C2E2 experience! Glad you had fun with the cosplay, comics, and food—definitely adding Parlor Pizza North to my Chicago list! Too bad about the video uploads though

    Glad C2E2 was a success. Good food is always a must when traveling. And it's hard to go wrong with pizza. :)

    I saw the Breakfast Club reunion posts from that con. My mind was blown that the movie is 40 years old. My daughter lives out near Wrigley, so we don't get to that area much, but I asking her if she ever had that pizza. Being from NY/NJ, I am a pizza snob

    Did you get a lot of comics and free stuff at the convention? I had been to a few conventions and they always seem to be giving away free stuff, although most aren't worth much.

    I probably would like Parlor Pizza North. I haven tired chicago pizza but I do love pizza.

    Sounds like an awesome weekend! C2E2 always looks like a blast, and it’s cool to hear it lived up to the hype for your first time. Cosplay-heavy cons are such a visual treat—every corner’s like a mini photo shoot! Bummer about the video limits though; Imgur really needs to step up their game. And thanks for the food rec! I’m always on the lookout for good eats in Chicago—definitely adding Parlor Pizza North to the list for next time. Did you have a favorite cosplay or moment from the con?

    Glad it was fun! Were there a bunch of cosplays you didn't recognize? I feel like I would be like... "cool hat" and they'd be like "I'm Lord Blordorf from The Fantasticals" and I'd feel stupid having no clue who that was heh. Your pictures are reminding me that I haven't been to Chicago in agggesss- at first I was like "hm it's been a couple years" until I did the math and realized... EIGHT. It has been 8 years since I was there and wow time is crazy.

    I'm glad you had fun at C2E2! Did you get to see any of the panels in the end? Which one was your favourite? I've never been to Chicago but, as a pizza lover, I would definitely try some, as thick pizzas are my favourite!

    Judging from that pulp cover, I'd say her cause of death was probably that *very* poorly constructed staircase ;) lol
