Sunday Post

So State of Art took first place at the state championship last week. Now it's on to Worlds in Dayton. Last competition for the year. I stopped at Bilbo's on my trip- cool idea, cool decor- it's Middle earth themed. Too bad it sucked. I used to like the one by Michigan State but it's long gone. I got the Dragon Feast pizza but it was just okay. Some may remember a while back I did a poll after sharing the menu- asking people which sandwich they'd pick since they're all Middle earth themed- here's a link. But the sandwiches the people with me got were sadly disappointing.

And... Movies That Suck for the week is... Before I Fall

  2. Congratulations! In spite of bad pizza at your favorite place on earth (well..maybe) Hope all goes well. The heat must be on. A warm weekend in the 80's here before the storms..but the forecast has been so wrong lately. I went to First Watch this week, it wasn't as good as I remember, either. I've been doing my best to behave..except today. I am failing miserably trying to make a box room. I better just stick with writing. On a Pink Floyd note..I just put in a CD donation of it at the library..and I was thinking of you (✿◡‿◡) Wishing you a great weekend.

  5. Congratulations! I hope the team kills it at Worlds. I don't think I saw all of Before I Fall, but the book was amazing.

  6. I would have very high expectations of somewhere called Bilbo's - I'm sorry the food wasn't good. Have a great week!

  11. Congrats! I am sad about the sandwiches and pizza not being great. I hate it when I go back to a restaurant I enjoyed and it's just meh.

  13. A LOTR themed restaurant near me would be awesome, I don't think I'd mind even if the food sucked lol

  14. Congratulations to State of Art on their win! I hope they do great at Worlds. That's too bad about Bilbo's food not being all that great.
I do wonder about George R.R. Martin. I would think the longer he takes to write a book set in that world, the harder it is to return to it. I think that he and other famous authors probably get away with a lot more than lesser known authors might. It sure seems that way when it comes to contracts and such.

I hope you have a great week, Greg!

  19. Ugh! Themed restaurants are fun, but the food has to be good! We went to a Doctor Who themed restaurant in New York and I remember it being good.

  20. That sucks when a place you've enjoyed goes downhill. We had a lot of themed restaurants in FL & some were surprisingly good. And some...weren't lol

  21. Yes... all well and good having spiffy names for sandwiches - but they have to be worth the effort of eating them! I love the cover of the book - why do so many of the blondes end up looking like Veronica Lake???

  22. Oh that's too bad about Bilbo's! We have a Dungeons and Dragons themed coffee shop here and town and it's pretty disappointing too. Love the pulp title! Very noir. Have a great week!
