Godzilla is threatening the Golden Gate bridge, so the police react by firing on him. Although it's not clear whether he was threatening or just inquisitive. And in LA the Champions get an alert. Although not before Hercules admits to enjoying the downtime with Natasha (yes that Natasha).
Wait. So it takes 18 mins to get there, and Godzilla hasn't done anything- wrecked the bridge or otherwise. And they land on the bridge?
Apparently the bridge is clear. Godzilla comes ashore and the Champions engage, with Angel getting almost squashed, only to be saved by Hercules. SHIELD meanwhile is meeting with Tony Stark (yes, that Tony Stark) to work on a way to stop the monster.
SHIELD and the Champions, meanwhile, are fighting over who's going to take on Godzilla. The monster, for his part, wrecks the bridge after all. And this SHIELD guy is annoying.
These people are idiots! Hercules throws a chunk of bridge at Godzilla but misses, hitting the SHIELD carrier instead.
Crash!
There goes one SHIELD helicarrier.
The big G seems playful.
So after some recriminations the Champs go their way, and the monster leaves. Question though- why don't they pursue?
Siempre me agrado godzilla y no veo las películas porque no gana. Te mandó un beso.
ReplyDeleteSo surreal! Love these retro arts
ReplyDeleteLMAO!! Love this!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it's actually a clash of the writers and the artists. Gotta wonder about the gang sometimes. Fun post!

Thanks for your comments! It feels like a long week! Yes, I am happy for the weekend! We have had some early morning showers which we need, but the humidity just hangs..and now fog and a little drizzle.
DeleteWhat a fun combo of Godzilla and comic book heroes!
ReplyDeleteYour review of this totally made me laugh. :D
ReplyDeleteGodzilla! I think logic goes out the window with him lol But I love it.

This is great! What a great cover!
ReplyDeleteHahaha quite awesome in its own way! It's funny cause DC is about to release a Godzilla vs. Kong vs. Justice League comic book series. I'm quite curious about what that's going to be like! Thanks for sharing, Greg.

They didn't pursue because this was originally made for 12 year olds and 12 year olds usually don't worry about stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a star studded cast! It's like another Avengers: Infinity War lol.
ReplyDeleteI love Godzilla. 😍 My dad and I used to go to Saturday afternoon matinees at local theaters where they showed older B SciFi and Fantasy movies, when I was a kid. We also watched the movies on television together. I didn't know about the comic books back then. I probably would have collected them. 🤗
ReplyDeleteI just got an ARC of the original two Godzilla short stories by Japanese author Shigeru Kayama. I think the second story was only recently translated. 📗
I can see how a giant lizard would be concerning even if he was just being inquisitive lol. Does sound like the team fighting him is making some strange decisions though.
