Sunday Post #473

Dorothy was here again. My daughter got a pic with her and that wasn't the only drama. The following day daughter was heading to the Renaissance festival and on the way over the car she was in caught on fire. Everyone was okay luckily.

  2. The car started on fire! That's scary. I'm glad your daughter is okay. Did they eventually make it to the Renaissance festival? Because those are a lot of fun. Have a great weekend, Greg! :D

  3. Fun that your daughter got to meet Dorothy but so scary about the car catching fire! So glad everyone was okay. What a crazy thing to happen. Did they still make it to the Ren Faire or was that a scratch? I remember watching Rockford Files as a kid. James Garner was so good. :)

  4. I'm so glad your daughter is OK. How frightening! Great pic with Dorothy too! Wow, what a week! I hope you have a good weekend. Thanks for the comments!
Glad you are liking the Rockford Files. I have always like James Garner's persona. He made a western Nichols with Margot Kidder on NBC before Rockford Files that I always found clever and well written characters. Of course, I loved the dog on that show too. But it wasn't the typical western because it was bringing in the automotive and showed a bit more how people faced the changes that were coming.

All the best to a sweet October 🍁🍂🖤🎃

  14. OMG how terrifying! I don't know that I'd be able to get in a car again. Thank goodness they pulled over and didn't try to get to the next exit or something. I guess it could have been so much worse. And then your pulp book has a car flying off a cliff - what, you couldn't find a cover with a burning car? :) Sometimes these blogs can be a way of sharing/dealing with personal stuff whether it's celebratory or sad or terrifying. Again, so glad everyone is fine.

  15. Oh my! Your poor daughter! I’m glad she’s okay but I would think this would be very traumatizing. As always I love the pulp fiction cover! Have a wonderful weekend.

  16. Okay first of all holy SHIT, I mean I know you said "on fire", but seeing it makes it even more bananas. I am SO glad they are okay! And that is awesome that she got a picture with Dorothy, so cool!

  17. Holy crap, that fire! Glad everyone is okay. Curious if you know what type of car it was and what caused the fire? I'm always just so paranoid about these things!

  18. I'm glad to hear everyone is safe. How did the car catch on fire?

  19. OMG Greg!!! That must have been so scary for your daughter! I hope it was not her own car!

  20. Thank goodness everyone got out of the car safely. Years ago we saw a car fire. Someone pulled into a car park opposite where we lived with just a small trail of smoke coming from under the bonnet (hood?), within minutes flames had appeared near the dashboard and very quickly the whole car went up in flames.

  32. Oh my gosh, that fire is scary! I'm so glad everyone is okay. I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to see that and know your daughter had been in that car! I remember when I had an accident one time and my parents saw my car before they saw that I was okay and I could tell how freaked out they were to see the car after I'd rolled over in it. Hope you have a less drama/scary week!

  35. I am so glad your daughter is okay! That must have been scary. My mom's car caught on fire years ago. Luckily no one had been in it at the time--and she hadn't parked in the garage or else the house would have caught on fire too.

I don't think I've seen an episode of Rockford Files since I was a child--it was one of my dad's favorite shows.

I hope you have a good week, Greg.

  36. Oh wow! I'm so glad your daughter was okay but how scary! I hope this week is much much calmer for all of you!

  46. So glad that the car fire didn't injure anyone. Enjoy your week and your events.

  47. Omg! So happy no one was injured with that car fire! I remember my parents watching The Rockford Files. Interesting that it holds up well after so many years. We re-watched Frasier a few years back and it did too, My husband then started re-watching Cheers and I thought it was terrible! I want to re-watch Buffy.

  48. WHOA! That must have been scary. I'm glad everyone's okay. No matter how old our kids get, we never stop worrying about them, do we?

  52. How scary! We drove by a car completely engulfed in flames on the side of the highway a few years ago, and it's still shocking in memory. It seemed as though the driver had gotten out; others had stopped and we were on the other side of the road in the fast lane, not realizing what was happening until we were almost past.

  53. Oh my, I’m really glad they came to no harm.

  63. I haven't started Rings of Power yet. I haven't started a lot of things like Andor. I've only watched the first episode of She-Hulk and I don't really have a desire at the moment.

I love when the weather is rainy and blustery. I don't like it if it last forever because then it affects my mood.
