Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is Books Too Good To Review Properly. That's pretty subjective so I'm just going to go with favorites that pop into my mind.

  1. On today's topic I sometimes can't think how I want to write a review and then I procrastinate until I lose all initiative to write it. Years later I am disappointed when I go searching for that review I never wrote. Sigh. My TTT

  2. I have no idea how I'd review GoT or any epic like that either! The Blue looks interesting I'll have to check that out.

  3. I've never actually heard of Emilli and the hollow world. I might need to check that out

  4. I loved Letters from Skye! Even managed to write a review of it!

  5. Oh boy, Anne's comment really nailed it. Ditto for me!

  6. This topic was an interesting one I thought. It really made my go back and look at all the books I read and I could remember which ones where I struggled to find the words to say how much I enjoyed said book! These are all new to me ones, but I can easily see how you would struggle to find words to review them!

    Here's my Tuesday Posts

    Have a GREAT day!

  7. What a great selection of books, though I have to confess I've not read the George RR Martin books yet!

  8. Oh gosh yes, those George R.R. Martin books are impossible to review. I always think you have the right idea when you do those posts where you give really in-depth commentary on certain aspects of the series.

  9. Oooh, LETTERS FROM SKYE looks like an interesting one. I'll have to take a closer look at it.

    Happy TTT!

  10. The George R. R. Martin books are just too enormous to review, I think!

  11. The Blue was such a good read! Pretty sure I read it because of your review!

  12. I found this a tough prompt to fill so I changed mine to Book Series You Won't Want to Miss. I've read The Blue and that was very good. Also I consider Becky Chambers' books. Not Game of Thrones-- too intimidating for me.

  13. I feel like GRRM is hard to review in general. His books are so long and so much is happening and not happening. It's almost like you have to review that whole series as one. Nice picks!

  14. It's been fascinating seeing what books people haven't reviewed. Great list!

  15. I've heard great things about the Game of Thrones books but never read them. Here is my post-https://paigesofbook.wordpress.com/2022/02/15/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-loved-that-are-too-good-to-review/.

  16. George R.R. Martin books are so heard to review! Partly because they're so complicated, and don't really stand alone, but also just because Game of Thrones is so much a part of pop culture now. It's hard to know where to start or want to say. I tend to just gush over my fave characters instead.

  17. GoT is a book I read years ago to give it a review now. I would has to re-read someday.

  18. Some intriguing covers here, thanks for sharing!

  19. I haven't read any of the books on your list. I agree, the prompt today is very subjective. I'm excited to see all the variety on people's lists.

  20. Totally agree on Game of Thrones. https://readwithstefani.com/books-too-good-to-review-properly/

  21. Before I clicked on the image for The Gondwana Shrine, I thought it might be a Jonny Quest graphic novel, lol.

  22. The Blue was a beautifully addictive novel here. We can easily find it our online book store. I havent read it yet but i am thinking of read it. Thanks for the review.

  23. Favorite books are always a good choice when it comes to a TTT post. :)

  24. So, it seems I am off topic again this week, but it was unintentional. Oh, well. This is a hard one. I have not read any of these book, but I do understand having difficulties putting my love for some books into words.

  25. I really need to read Becky Chambers!!! I have seen Psalm all over the place today too. Great list, Greg!

  26. Me gustan algunos tomo nota de los títulos. Te mando un beso

  27. I'm seeing Becky Chamber a lot today. I must look into her books!

  28. What I loved about today's topic is I'm finding a lot of books that were either so good, or so unique that it's difficult to review, and those are books that i want to read. I like the look of A closed and Common Orbit

  29. The struggle is real . . . You listed a few good examples there, Greg!

  30. Only familiar with GoT. Cool idea though. I wonder if I have a top 10 book list - I like so many! My post is up for Monday's Book Date blog - http://www.lyndonperrywriter.com/2022/02/book-date-monday-amreading-feb-14.html

  31. I haven't read any of these but #1, I might read some day although now that I seen a lot of Becky Chambers book covers, I'm finding it hard to differentiate them.

    Have a lovely day.

  32. I need to continue the Becky Chambers series, I loved the first one so much.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still need to read Becky Chambers but I hope I love her books as much as everyone else seems to!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I haven't read GoT yet, but I can imagine they would be hard to review properly just like Outlander, which made my list. Great choices!

  35. Becky Chambers is on my mental list to read this year. I joined a science fiction challenge because I don't read much of it (I know you're appalled). Everyone seems to love Chambers so she seems like a natural fit for the challenge. I'm glad to know you like her work too!

  36. I still haven't continued the Becky Chambers series even though I adored the first book and I think it's just because that first book was so good. And A Dance With Dragons is difficult to review because you need to know the whole series to properly talk about it but then spoilers!

  37. I always feel as if I can't do my favorite books justice when it comes to review writing. Sometimes I just want to leave it at "Read now!" This is a great list, Greg!

  38. Letter from Skye and The Blue are books I really want to read. Great list!

  39. I received a physical ARC of Emilie & the Hollow World years ago and never read it. I ended up putting it in a Little Free Library. I had no idea who Martha Wells was back then. I should read it next year. 📚
