The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
I love short weeks. I didn't read much, spent most of my time on Netflix and cruising blogs. I'm on season 2 of The 100 and am still watching Continuum as well- both are favorites.
The big news this week is obviously Hurricane Irma. I hope everyone who is in the path stays safe.
Last week I reviewed Wreck. And On The Run XI will be up on Monday.

PULP COVER OF THE WEEK:
NEW ARRIVAL/ UPCOMING REVIEWS:
Yay for a short, chilled week :) Visiting blogs and watching Netflix sounds perfect.ReplyDelete
Glad you're still enjoying The 100! I really need to continue with it sometime.
Looking forward to your review of One Dark Throne! Have a great week ahead, Greg.
Amy @ A Magical World Of Words
I know, I love those! The 100 is so awesome. :)Delete
I really liked One Dark Throne!
Interesting post as always! I watched the movie Vertigo but I didn't enjoy it that much, so I'm not sure I would be keen on reading the book. Short weeks are the best, especially when you get to stay home and not go to work. ;)ReplyDelete
Exactly! And I've never seen Vertigo, but I should watch it just so I can say I've seen!Delete
I was thinking Tower of Joy when I glanced at the pic at first. I've never watched Vertigo but I love Dial M for Murder.ReplyDelete
I love old movies. And yes when I saw that I thought Tower of Joy immediately. :)Delete
Short weeks are great. Since I was on vacation last week, it was so nice to only have to return to work for 4 days this week. I spent a lot of time on Netflix too and didn't get nearly as much reading done as I had planned. Oops, lol. Hope the upcoming week is a good one for you!ReplyDelete
I hardly read at all! And yes coming back from vacay to a short wee kis the best. :)Delete
Aw! The Fan Droids | Star Wars Blips video was adorable!!ReplyDelete
Isn't that awesome??Delete
I love short weeks. I was just on vacation a couple weeks ago and I was still looking forward to the long weekend!ReplyDelete
I know? They're the bestDelete
It seems to me that short weeks always seem the longest. It is probably just me. I really hope that Irma isn't as bad as they say it could be. It's scary! Have a great week!ReplyDelete
That's true, sometimes the short weeks DO seem extra long. I've had that too.Delete
I like the fighting at the tower oneReplyDelete
I do too!!Delete
I like short weeks but man do they throw off our schedule, always forgetting which day it actually is. Love the droids :)ReplyDelete
I thought that droids thing was cool. :)Delete
I'm kind of curious about Gypsy. Now that GoT is over for the season, I definitely need to get into something new. The Pack definitely looks interesting. Hope you're in a safe area! Happy reading!ReplyDelete
Gypsy's okay, it's really slow but kind of interesting? And yes now that GoT is over, I think a lot of us are wondering- what do we watch now???Delete
It was a short week here but a busy one. So I didn't get much reading done. The Pack has a good cover. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
The Pack was pretty good but I haven't seen much on it- course it doesn't release for a month yet.Delete
A dark selection of art work this week, but I like it! The industrial zone ones are a bit depressing though, apparently even in a technologically advanced future we will still have traffic congestion and tolls :PReplyDelete
~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
That one industrial one was VERY dark, but I loved the Blade runner-esque feel to it. Although I see my link failed- gotta fix that.Delete
I just watched Hitchcock's version of Vertigo and it was so good! I'd love to read the book that inspired it. I keep forgetting it was a short week because so much seemed to get packed into it! I need to do some Netflix browsing. I'm kind of out of shows for the moment. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
I've never seen or read vertigo, isn't that awful? And I like Hitchcock. I need to watch it. And I agree- I've looking for a new show on Netflix and not finding much...Delete
Usually my weeks after holidays are long, even if I have to work less days, but fortunately it wasn't that way this past week. I like the artwork you shared this week. Especially the Underground Sea.ReplyDelete
I hope you have a great week, Greg. I look forward to your review on One Dark Throne.
I loved Underground Sea! And you're right- a lot of times it's the short weeks that drag the longest. So true!Delete
Have a great week! I liked ODT a lot!!
Obviously I find watching The 100 and Continuum every day to be incredibly valid and appropriate life choices :D Yay for more On the Run! I feel like I am more invested in it than most of the books I read, honestly. Looking forward to your review on ODT, even though I know that you liked it hah.ReplyDelete
The cyberpunk video reminds me of Continuum too! Probably because in every flashback to 2077, it's dark with a bunch of hovercraft flying around and someone conducting shady business on a balcony. The New Zealand video is incredible too- that has always been on my bucket list, but damn, that video pushes it even further up the list!
Ha they are VERY good life choices. I'm starting to wonder wha a day would be like without watching at least one episode! And thank you-those are kind words. I hope you enjoy the next few installments. :)Delete
Yes ODT you kinda know my thoughts but it will be fun to discuss some more. I'm really hoping Nicole does another spoilery post lol. And yes I have a thing for cyberpunk! Because obvs. But you're right why it is always dark in 2077???
Hahhah now you see why I keep rewatching The 100! I think Nicole will do another spoilery post- I hope, anyway. I assume she will because it has been her most viewed post all year hahah. And I think that they make 2077 dark so our fragile minds can differentiate between present day and future? I have pondered and that's the best I can come up with :)Delete
Wasn't it nice to have a short week?! I ran on Monday, but relaxed otherwise. Vertigo! That was a powerful but tragic Hitchcock! I'm going to check out your review for Wrecked. :)ReplyDelete
Yes! I think we should all vote in shorter week - that extra day would be SO useful! And I've never seen vertigo but after seeing that cover I kinda want to. I need to watch some more Hitchcock's because I like what I've seen.Delete
I thought Wrecked was pretty good!
I've had two short weeks in a row as far as posting. Been working a lot on my October stuff. Have something creepy lined up for all 31 days and it takes time. Love that cover for Vertigo!ReplyDelete
Ooh whatcha got set up? Can't wait to see...Delete
Great visual images, as usual. Love that tower! And Vertigo...loved that movie.ReplyDelete
I'm curious about Wreck...
Enjoy your books, movies, etc. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
Thanks! I need to see it...Delete
Vertigo! Great movie, and I love that cover. Have a great week :)ReplyDelete
Is it? I've never seen it, but clearly I need to fix that!!Delete
Awesome images this week, especially the Android Police! I hope everyone who is dealing with the Hurricane are safe too.ReplyDelete
Here’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!
I like that one too.Delete
You've got One Dark Throne and The pack, that's cool. enjoy your reading.ReplyDelete
They were both pretty good!Delete
Everyone keeps talking about short weeks, and I'm so jealous, cause we didn't have one xD although I wasn't working either... But I had so many visitors and guests, so tired! Oh well :) it's really too bad that I didn't get to read much!ReplyDelete
Awesome artwork, as always :)
Aww yes I saw your post, sounds like you had fun! And lots of beer :)Delete
As always love the artwork, especially that ship with the tentacles.ReplyDelete
My update- Geeky Mom's R&R
Thanks- I liked that one :)Delete
So much amazing artwork! Hopefully you will get in some reading time this week.ReplyDelete
I know- I hope so??Delete
Oh yes, the hurricane, I do hope everyone stays safe. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
Anne @ The Reading Life
You too Anne.Delete
I love the books you're getting in these days!! And awesome artwork this week - my favorite is the dark picture under your Pinterest label :) Hope the leaves are turning pretty colors for you!! Have a great week...ReplyDelete
Thanks dude. I like that one too- although I see my Pinterest link didn't work. And our leaves haven't turned at all yet- are you seeing any?Delete
Short weeks are really the best, aren't they? The 100 has been on my to watch list for a while now, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I go through phases with TV. Either I watch it non-stop or go months without watching anything, and right now I'm in a watch nothing phase. The Pack looks great. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it! Have a great week, Greg!ReplyDelete
Short weeks ARE the best! And I hear you on TV- I can go for months too, then I bingewatch something! The 100 is pretty good, I forgot how much I liked it til I re- watched!Delete
I enjoyed The Pack a lot, it's a sequel but a pretty good YA shifter story.
This was a short week but for some reason still felt long, lol.ReplyDelete
We have been watching Irma on CNN, my family is on the east side of Florida but I have a few friends on the west that I am worried about. I hope they left like the suggested.
Love the pictures this week and the Vertigo Cover! That is a great book but I enjoyed the movie.
Have a great week Greg! Happy Reading!
Short weeks sometimes DO drag, don't they? Which makes no sense. :) And yeah I'm hoping everyone is safe, including your relatives.Delete
You always find the most amazing images and videos! Kudos!ReplyDelete
My students and I have been really interested in watching and tracking Irma. We do lots of mission trips and they are thinking they might want to go to St. Martin or Puerto Rico this summer to help. I visited St. Martin years ago and it was strange to see the images of it totally destroyed now.
Thanks! That is so sad about St. Martin, I know the caribbean got hit pretty bad. I think it's neat they want to help, thank goodness for the young ones right?Delete
Yay for a low-key week! I haven't been feeling too many tv shows lately - maybe I just need my favorites to start up again!ReplyDelete
Great artwork choices this week!
Yeah I think I'm running out of shows- after my rewatches. Not sure what to try next...Delete
I've heard good things about The 100, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Short weeks are the best and low key ones even better! Have a great week.ReplyDelete
Glad you had a low key week...mine was so crazy...trying to pack 10 days worth of work into 4(I'm short staffed hence 10 instead of 5) Netflix is a godsend though for those nights I am too tired to read.ReplyDelete
I've also just been binge watching all the shows (or all the shows that I've been behind on) I'm off from work, so I think it's the best opportunity to do so, especially with some of my shows returning at the end of this month! I will get to The 100 one day! I hope you have another great week Greg!ReplyDelete
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing week :). That Underground sea picture looks great!ReplyDelete
Great! have a nice week and happy reading!ReplyDelete
I love the cover of Vertigo. Low-key weeks are good. I actually managed to read 3 books this week which is stellar for me. Hope you have another wonderful week.ReplyDelete
Your week sounds pretty good. I hope you enjoy the new book and you week ahead too.ReplyDelete
Yay for a short week - especially as we now don't get one for a while. As ever your selection of pictures is fabulous - it's the cityscapes that are doing it for me this week... Have a good week, Greg. My Sunday Post - https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/09/10/sunday-post-10th-september-2017/ReplyDelete
I love short work weeks. Now that GoT is done I've been looking on Netflix for something else to watch. I watched more of the Defenders and now it's getting good since the main characters are slowly crossing paths. But I still feel lost since I didn't watch the other shows lol. I hope you have a good week!ReplyDelete
Cool haul, you have me quite curious. Nothing wrong with a little binge tv. LOL I wish every week was a short week!ReplyDelete
I am hoping I am finally allowed to comment on your blog haha. Posting this with fingers crossed. I am currently reading One Dark Throne! Excited to share my thoughts but was asked to wait until release day so in the near future ;) I hope you enjoyed! I also hope you have been well.ReplyDelete
Awesome! Welcome to the comments ha ha! I don't know what changed but happy to have you. :) Can't wait to talk One Dark Throne.Delete
Love the Underground Sea pic! I am about to do a reread of TDC and then pick up One Dark Throne---can't wait!ReplyDelete
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Ooh I hope you enjoy. I thought ODT took it in some interesting directions...Delete
Glad you had a nice week! I got a lot of reading done actually, which I'm excited about because it was slowing a bit and I'm ALMOST finished with all my September review books!ReplyDelete
It sounds like you had a pretty chill week. :)ReplyDelete
It was a good week! Now I just need to get back to reading :)Delete
Short weeks are always the best! Sounds like your re-watch of 100 is going pretty good! :)ReplyDelete
These hurricanes are just crazy this year, it's just terrible. :(
Have a great week and happy reading or watching. :)
You seem to have had a very relaxing week, Greg. I hope you enjoy your books this week and have a wonderful week.ReplyDelete
Gorgeous pictures! ❤️
I've watched Vertigo several times and never knew there was a book to go along with it. The cover is great. My heart goes out to all who are suffering through these storms and the earthquake. It's just so sad. Hugs...ROReplyDelete
My grandfather really like Vertigo. I've lost track of how many times I watched it with him, and later with my grandmother. Come see what I'm readingReplyDelete
Can't wait to read your review of One Dark Throne! :)ReplyDelete
Oh, One Dark Throne! I can't wait to read that one. I hope you enjoy your books.ReplyDelete
Here's my It's Monday! What Are You Reading? post.
I thought One Dark was really good!Delete
Netflix and cruising blogs sounds alright! Happy viewing and reading.ReplyDelete
Thanks! It works for me too. :)Delete
Can't wait to see your review of One Dark Throne! Have a wonderful week.ReplyDelete
Thanks, you too!Delete
I loved the ship image and the tower. I need to get back to the 100 -- I think I watched three seasons. We got back to Outlander and plan to start Sinners soon.ReplyDelete
I was kinda disappointed by season three but season four seemed like a comeback...Delete
Short weeks are the best, even if I spent my long weekend in a tent in the rain. Love the look of both your books this week.ReplyDelete
It's always good to relax and chill! :)ReplyDelete
*sighs* the last week before college is always too short ...ReplyDelete
I know! I always hate it when it's almost time to go back... the last week isn't even like time off. :)Delete
The Wreck looks good. Funny, in a weird way, that book was the one that caught my eye, since Irma is visiting this week. Thank goodness it has died down and being in the Panhandle, we don't anticipate much damage. Thanks for thinking of all of us, especially those in the direct path who did suffer major damage.ReplyDelete
sherry @ fundinmental Sunday Memes
Short weeks are the best! Unfortunately mine isn't too short, even if I did have one less day at school.ReplyDelete
I love those images you shared - if only my skills could be as good as the original artists'.
That "Underground Sea" picture gives me chills. There is nothing more terrifying that the idea of being stuck in cave with a sea monster. ReplyDelete
I liked that one! Seemed very atmospheric!Delete
I didn't read much last week either. Short weeks are the best! But it is back to the normal schedule now. Got word that my family made it through Irma without any serious damage. We've been watching Bosch on Amazon and Longmire on Netflix. Not sure what we will get to next when finished. Got a lot on the watchlist.ReplyDelete
I used to love short weeks too, but when you are self-employed, they become sort of irrelevant. What matters is whether you have a project or not. (Not, at the moment, so I had a laid-back week.) But I appreciate them on behalf of my husband, who needs an extra day off now and then!ReplyDelete
I loved the Star Wars Fan Droids clip. So cute! Especially the 'droid that faints at the end. And the New Zealand timelapse film is breathtaking. Not only is the film beautiful, I like the soundtracks Martin Heck has been using (or commissioning.)
Have a great week, Greg!
Short weeks can be good, sometimes not. It means time is slipping by too quickly.ReplyDelete
You've seriously got me hooked on Cyber Punk. Totally my style. LOL.
Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
I am so ready to read One Dark Throne. I look forward to reading your thoughts about it!ReplyDelete
I live in New Zealand, and still videos like that leave me absolutely breathless. Just reminds me how incredibly lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place.
You are lucky, looks gorgeous there! And One Dark Throne- I hope you like it! I thought it was really good, a step up from the first one and more action too.Delete
I need to go through Netflix and try to get through a few series I want. Sounds like a nice relaxing short week for you. :)ReplyDelete
Yeah, we have many snowbirds from Quebec who spend their winters in Florida. So many natural disasters everywhere. Makes me sad for the people who are caught in it.ReplyDelete
Same. Hope everyone is digging out okay...Delete
Visiting blogs and watching Netflix sounds awesome. I didn't read much over the short week either. Hopefully more this week!ReplyDelete
It's been a crazy week in the world -- all the news about Irma has been insane. Sending out good vibes to all who're impacted by it! In bookish news, I'm curious to hear your take on One Dark Throne; I've been on the fence about starting the series.ReplyDelete
Short weeks are very nice! Hope you're having a good one (and no trouble with any of the storms!)ReplyDelete
