Cover Characteristics



Cover Characteristics is a meme by Sugar and Snark- every week a characteristic is selected and we post 5 books with that week's theme.

This week's theme- Jewels

 This week is jewels! I found a fairly wide variety of covers for this one and had to narrow it down a bit.  

 So here we go...

   Diadem from the Stars (Diadem, #1) The Faerie Ring (The Faerie Ring, #1)The Hobbit (Middle-Earth Universe)
 

My favorites would be these two: 

 Diadem from the Stars (Diadem, #1)

 although the Nancy Drew would be a runner- up. I like the darker palette of that one, with the ship in the background and the jewels sort of cascading down. And who doesn't like a trunk full of treasure?

    Great covers! The Nancy Drew is probably my favorite with The Fairie Ring as a runner up. I love the Nancy Drew covers partly because I loved the books and partly because they're just really great covers!

      I agree, the Nancy Drew covers have some standouts. I've thought about looking at a gallery of the covers and picking a few for my bookcover spotlights- I may have to do that.

    Wow!! This is such an interesting feature, I loved that the theme centers around jewels. Such great covers, some definitely piqued my interest! Thanks for sharing :)

    Obviously I also like The Faerie Ring, but I think my favorite is Diamonds Are Forever. That artwork is amazing though! For some reason, they don't look as striking in the book cover pictures, but the full versions are gorgeous! I especially love the picture for The Tree of Swords and Jewels.

      Diamonds Are Forever is my fave too. Those redesign covers some of them are so distinctive. And I agree about the book covers- the artwork is so diluted sometimes, then you see the original artwork and it's like whoah pretty nice. :)
