So... I have a cherry blossom tour this week. The second one below is nice- it's a little lunch time livestream around the water. You get to know the streamer a little bit- in fact, as I write this (Friday) he has a stream premiering tonight if you're interested. Always nice. Below in links I have a tour I meant to link it last time but I posted a different one (the one right below) by mistake. The first two minutes are the highlight if you don't want to watch the whole hour.
I have more comments on lo-fi videos? How about The ethereal kitty intracellularly introduce because eye interspecifically rub sans a humdrum tie. nostalgic, whimsical seeder. ? Honest, I think this is a thing people are doing all over Youtube???
I'm liking the idea of sharing a tweet occasionally to generate discussion. This tweet and the comments.
New Zealand listened to the science from the beginning of the pandemic.— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) March 22, 2021
This was New Zealand this week.

Thanks so much for this awesome cherry blossom tour. The closest experience I will probably ever have of this beauty. I doubt I'll ever be able to go to JapanReplyDelete
I love cherry blossoms, perfect symbol of fragile ephemeral beauty. Closest I've seen to this is during the Cherry Blossom festival in DC, but it was definitely a "one and done" thing, I can't deal with the crowds. Also, interesting take about New Zealand, though I wish people wouldn't make comparisons like that. The US made some bad decisions but it's apples to oranges. I'm reading the replies and see population, area, and island comparisons but everyone seems to miss the fact that we're the economic hub of the entire world and a major producer and exporter. More livelihoods depend on the US than NZ by an order of magnitude. I don't think it would have been possible to completely shut down the way NZ had without causing a planetwide collapse, unfortunately.ReplyDelete
Cherry Blossoms is definitely one of the reasons I'd want to go to Japan at some point in my life.ReplyDelete
New Zealand and their leader did everything right. The rest of us were too slow to stop aircraft coming in and quarantine those arriving.ReplyDelete
Thanks for the Cherry Blossom Festival links. I will most definitely watch those this weekend. 🌸🌸🌸ReplyDelete
Biden should have federally mandated masks his first day. Leaving it up to the states was a disaster. It's not like they didn't already know this from the year before. 😷
I think part of the money generated from YouTube is based on the number of comments as well as likes and views. I know that most of the YouTubers I watch ask questions in the comment section to get rep!ies. Maybe some YouTubers hire bot companies to leave comments on their videos? 🤔
Have a wonderful new week! 🌞
"...intracellularly introduce because eye interspecifically..."ReplyDelete
Boy, there's a lot of "intra/inters" LOL. They know all the big words 😂.
Those blossoms are awesome! I really dig the colour.
Someone in the comments to that tweet pointed out that it's easier to stop a pandemic if you live on an island. I disagree. We have a few islands in Italy, and two of them are very big ones, so big that they have region status - yet they're not Covid-free (though for a little while it seemed like Sardinia had no cases). I don't know if its government did a better job or its citizens handled the situation more responsibly (maybe both), but NZ must have done something right...
I love the sakura walking tours! I remember the hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties when I lived in Japan, everyone sang and got drunk, lol.ReplyDelete
I remember seeing the cherry blossom trees when I visited Washington DC one time. Nothing like in Japan I'm sure though! Thanks for sharing these!ReplyDelete
Those cherry blossoms are spectacular :) The lo-fi commenters are really weird, one wonders what they smoke/drank ^^ Enjoy your week-end and the flowers exploding finally all around us :)ReplyDelete
Japan is definitely on my bucket list. My family have been watching a lot of Japan tours recently and have been planning hopefully a future trip.ReplyDelete
I am happy for New Zealand, but it's hard to compare them to the US (pop US about 330MM, NZ 4.9MM, size-wise, the US is over 3000% times larger too). Those tours were beautiful! I hope to someday get to that part of the world.ReplyDelete
Have a great weekend, Greg!ReplyDelete
Ooh, I love cherry blossoms! There is actually a huge park here in NJ that has tons of cherry blossoms, I'd love to visit someday.ReplyDelete
Sigh. Japan in the spring is just so beautiful. <3ReplyDelete
I like the tweet discussion idea! I'm personally furious that the UK didn't go for a NZ style approach to all of this... I mean, we're an island! If NZ could do it, we certainly could have but nope! One of the highest death tolls per 100k population in the world. It is what it is now, I guess. Too late to change it. At least the vaccination programme is going well!ReplyDelete
I guess eradication would have been so much harder to achieve in the US given your size and land borders but still... Could have been so much better. :(
Spectacular cherry blossoms! Wish I were there!ReplyDelete
The cherry blossoms are stunning! I've been in DC when they were blooming and they were gorgeous but I think those are even more stunning! YouTube comments are just weird. Periodically I listen to a channel that does sound therapy with bowls for ambient noise and those get the craziest comments but maybe not ethereal kitty level weird! Have a great week!ReplyDelete
I love the cherry blossoms pictures and videos. We totally missed the bus with listening to science and isolating. Stay safeReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing the life videos around Japan. If feels like really being there. I thoughts I would enjoy the traditional Chinese music but i found it not relaxing at all. I am enjoying a lot more the chill and lo-fi music. It was a good discovery, thanks. And about the tweet...it's so true, why can't we all be more like New Zealand? Crazy.ReplyDelete
Have a great Sunday :)
New Zealand did it right, that's for sure! I'm hoping with the vaccine there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the rest of us. Kansas is opening up vaccines for everyone tomorrow.ReplyDelete
The cherry blossom tours are lovely! One of my favorite scents is cherry blossom.
Have a great week!!ReplyDelete
Week in Review
Love the cherry blossom videos, but wish we could smell them.ReplyDelete
In the Uk we didn't do much better than you in the US when it comes to covid. I suspect our high mortality rates have a lot to do with the correspondingly high prevalence of obesity and diabetes. The government's delays in shutting down the airports didn't help much though.

Our entire town is filled with Cherry Blossoms. At one point they wanted to be the cherry blossom capital of the US but I think we are only for NJ. My allergies, hate it but they are so pretty. The streets are actually lined with Cherry Blossoms.ReplyDelete
Have a great week, Greg!
I am so proud of New Zealand, and happy that one of my granddaughters had gone there the year before...and then stayed, since it wasn't safe to come back here. She has jobs and lots of friends there, so she is happy! I think she'll come back at some point, but not until it is safe here.ReplyDelete
New Zealand sure did have there stuff together with this one. All hats of to them! May we learn from them. Okay, everyone but Africa. Here everyone just dance at the beat of their drum.ReplyDelete
Love the cherry blossoms!
Have a good week Greg!
Gorgeous cherry blossoms! I need to plant a blossoming cherry on our property somewhere; they are so beautiful. Or maybe a redbud.ReplyDelete
New Zealand handled the pandemic very well, and we could have done so much better than we have (and are; case numbers are rising again.) I'm not sure we could have done as well as they have, though, given the size and porousness of our borders and the number of people who travel to and from the US.
The cherry blossoms in Japan are so lovely! Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Greg 🙂ReplyDelete
Sakura! Definitely a reason to visit Japan. And yeah, kudos to NewZ for managing the virus, though they are a smaller population, and a much more isolated country / island.ReplyDelete
On a lighter note, Violence is Golden? Wut?! ROFL.

I would love to visit Japan one day just to see the sakura, and partake in the amazing festivals they have.ReplyDelete
I love the blooms this time of year! I keep going outside to enjoy my wisteria. Wow, look at New Zealand! I think they went on travel restrictions pretty early and probably didn't get many coming in to spread Covid like us.ReplyDelete
Thank you for sharing the cherry blossom videos. We def. could have done much better her in the USA if we followed science and took the pandemic seriously from the top of Govt. The admin at the time stuck their heads in the sand and pretended it wasn't happening because that was easier than the hard work of acknowledging a problemReplyDelete
The cherry blossoms are so pretty.ReplyDelete
I'm very confused by The ethereal kitty intracellularly introduce because eye interspecifically rub sans a humdrum tie. nostalgic, whimsical seeder. I have no idea what that means. LOL!ReplyDelete
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I really want a cherry tree! I must have one, or two, but maybe net year when we have a yard and not just mudReplyDelete
Beautiful Spring sights indeed.ReplyDelete
So pretty! Looking forward to spring for sure!ReplyDelete
Beautiful cherry blossoms. I am so ready for Spring weather, though not looking forward to the return of cicadas soon. Ugh.ReplyDelete
I'm so glad that New Zealand is doing well and I hope that continues with all the variants going around. I wish that other countries had done the same.
Love the cherry blossoms!ReplyDelete
I adore cherry blossoms! There are a fair amount of cherry trees in my area and they are just starting to bloom now. My hometown (about an hour south of where I am now) is known as the Cherry City and they had the most beautiful Cherry Trees in front of the State Capitol. Unfortunately, they had an ice storm last month that killed all the trees...absolutely devastating! - Melinda @ A Web of StoriesReplyDelete
We are happy with our NZ covid effort and did lock down totally for about 4 weeks. Absolutely nothing and have had a few minor ones since but totally worth it. And just so you know our health system is totally hopeless so wouldn't have coped! I hope we keep it out, the border always poses a risk and we are way down the chain for vaccines. Have a great week Greg.ReplyDelete
New Zealand did an excellent job. There's just too much opposition to everything in the US. There are still so many that refuse to wear masks.ReplyDelete
The Cherry Blossoms are so beautiful.
I hope you have a great week!
Have a good week, Greg!ReplyDelete
The cherry blossoms are beautiful! NZ did so well!!ReplyDelete
I've been celebrating Japanese lit during the past three months, so your timing with the cherry blossoms is perfect.ReplyDelete
I know. Science. Who doesn't listen to science?!
Wow! It is definitely on my bucket list to visit Japan and see the cherry blossoms in person! One day lol...ReplyDelete
Have a great week!
Nice videos. It would be nice to be more like New Zealand or even just more organized and purposeful in our response to this pandemic. Come see my week here. Happy reading!ReplyDelete
I love all the pretty flower videos but just looking at them makes my eyes itch and my nose run!ReplyDelete
I love those tours and I really hope I'll be able to visit and see the cherry blossoms myself some day. But for now, these tours are so much fun!ReplyDelete
Thank you for the videos, I like Cherry Blossoms. They haven't fully bloomed yet at the park where we like to walk.ReplyDelete
Ahh NZ knows how to stay safe.
Happy reading this week!
My mind is constantly 100% blown by the people who refuse to believe in the science. We still have people in my community who are like well, we did the masks and lockdowns and distancing and now our numbers are worse so obviously it doesn't work. And it is like no, no, no. The problem is there are people out there who didn't do those things. Argghghhgghh. I see places like New Zealand and I am so jealous.ReplyDelete
These cherry blossoms are absolutely beautiful.ReplyDelete
