Sunday Post #213

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It's been sunny and warm around here during the day, and cool at night- nice fall weather. I love the cooler breeze at night, and the leaves are starting to fall now as well as change colors. My favorite time of year. And pumpkin spice lattes are back in the world so life is good. :)

On the Run part 13 (really??) will be up on Monday. I'm surprised as anyone that it's still going, but it's been fun. I seem to be back in the reading groove so I've been binging on Netflix less, which is probably a good thing. I read Warcross and loved it, after an iffy beginning, and The Breakdown was good too. And I'm starting to prep posts for Sci Fi Month in November

Last week I reviewed Warcross and this week will be The Breakdown.

Warcross (Warcross, #1)The Breakdown

Here's a clip setting up the new Blade Runner movie. I love the cyberpunk vibe!

Here's a clip from a history of the seven Kingdoms- the whole thing will be on the DVD/ Blu-ray release.

Did you love the Arya/ Brienne fight on Game of Thrones? Here's a little BTS.

  1. Hope you enjoy There's Someone inside your House!! I can't wait to dive into my copy :)

I'm going to check out your Warcross review now - I've been so bad at blog hopping this week so I'm sorry I haven't visited your blog in a while!

Hope you have a great week, Greg :)

    1. That's okay Amy- I know how it is. :) I'm also excited about Someone- I hope it's nice and scary- but not too scary, ya know?

You have a great week too!

  2. Great post! Thanks for the recommendation of Shetland on my TV post - I'm checking it out. You and I really do have similar taste - Stranger Things, Romy and Michele (people just stare at me when I praise that one), Agatha Christie....

    1. Ooh I hope you like Shetland. It's not like violent or anything so it's not like a lot of shows- and I could watch that shetlands scenery all day! Romy and Michelle is the BEST- I LOVED those two. Agatha Christie though I have to admit I haven't read much of, but some of her book titles are so evocative, you know? I'm on a mission to read more of her stuff over the next year or so...

  4. Happy weekend Greg! I hope you're having a great one.

Love all the GOT stuff, especially the BTS of that fight! Very cool. It's easy to forget how much goes into these things. I loved that scene as well.

I'm actually quite scared about next season! I don't want it to end, especially in a 'bittersweet' way and I know Martin probably has something serious cooking for us all. šŸ˜Ø Terrifying really. I've become so attached to Jon and Daenerys but I have a funny feeling only one will be left standing at the end. šŸ™ˆ

I didn't realise there was going to be a new Bladerunner movie! *going to crawl back under my rock just now*.

Again, hope you're having a great weekend!

    1. Hey Di! Same to you- hope you have a fantastic weekend! That BTS of the fight was really cool, I thought. :)

I think you might be right about GoT. And the weird thing is we may get TWO endings- I think the book and show endings will be essentially the same, but the details may be very different. In fact they almost have to be, since the books have diverged so much from then show (or vice versa).

I think the new Blade Runner sorta flew under the radar, and now the publicity push is on? I was pretty meh about it but after seeing a few clips I'm cautiously optimistic?

  13. It's been high 80s around here with nights around 70 degrees. Ha! It is supposed to be 88 on Monday and 90 on Tuesday! Ouch. We will be getting fall like weather by the end of the week, thank goodness.

I loved your Song of the Week. That is the kind of music I like to listen to when I read. The cat in the window animated art is my favorite this week. :)

I have a block of On the Run to read because your CLIFFHANGERS KILL ME!

  14. I mean, I was swimming today. Outside. And I'll take every last minute of it :) But the beauty of it is, you can still have your pumpkin spice while I am in the pool hahah. On the Run 13!? Damn, that is impressive! I hope you like There's Someone Inside Your House! I have heard mixed things, I'll be looking forward to your thoughts. The Breakdown looks pretty good, I haven't heard of it- also curious! I saw Wild Bird in the bookstore today, I feel like I have heard of it, but have no clue what it is about haha. Hope you enjoy them all!

Romy and Michelle, I have seen them AND their high school reunion! (Shocking, I know.) That was a funny movie- and I think the first time I saw Lisa Kudrow in something other than Friends.

I *really* need to watch Game of Thrones so I will understand all these references hah. I love the picture of the cat looking out at the rain! And the girl on the badass throne.

I didn't have any warm feelings for Halloween before that (it's not customary in my country), but after I started the blog, it's just so nostalgic :)

I'm also taking part in Sci-fi month! Just signed up yesterday - pretty excited! I've planned 8 posts, I sure hope it won't come back to bite me in the butt, that schedule.

  34. It's warmer now than it was a few weeks ago, but I'm starting to look forward to cooler weather in October. Or at least hoping for it. Enjoy your pumpkin spice lattes! I'll have to settle for decaf chai and spiced herb teas, but that's fine... I'll make pumpkin bread instead. :-)
