I've actually read one of these! Lol The Nightlife New York. I read The Nightlife San Antonio first, which is the 7th in the series but reads as a standalone, and loved it, but then New York wasn't nearly as good for me. It was interesting though to see how much the author's writing clearly improved by the time he got to Book 7. But this is a post about covers, so moving on...
The Nightlife does have a nice cover. So does Crazy European Chick. And I like the Immortals covers, what with the light shining down from the Heavens and everything. Especially that second one with all the blue and white.
I like that one and the cover - what is it about blood? I like European chick too- not only was it kinda fun book but the cover is nice. And the Immortals covers - always liked 'em. Even though Winter of the Gods didn't work for me I still think it's an amazing cover! Definitely the lighting, and the snow covered trees...
I've got lots of New York covers amongst the books I've read over the years. It's partly the covers that got me interested in trying the Immortals series as they both look beautiful. Not sure when I'll get to reading them though...
The Immortals covers are amazeballs and I liked the first book, the second one a bit less... but good covers. NYC at night is such a great way to go...
New York city is a great theme for covers! The NY skyline is always a great image! I'll have to say The Immortals is my favorite. maybe because I'm super curious about that book and it's i my TBR
I'm probably biased since I'm a New Yorker, but I absolutely love covers with a NYC scene, so these are all awesome :) Thanks for sharing this awesome post!
I'm pretty sure I own The Shambling Guide to New York City. I also love both of the covers on the immortal ones. Great choices. There has to be so many because I just visited Kristen's blog and I don't think you guys shared any but both had distinct choices of your own.
I'm really curious about that book! And The Immortals covers are definitely faves of mine. And yeah- nice that we didn't have any overlap this week, sometimes we do. I've noticed that w/ this meme...
New York City is my favorite city in the world so I am in love with all of these covers, especially the different variations of the Breakfast at Tiffany's one.
Great picks of NYC covers. A couple of other recent books that came to my mind were Kim Stanley Robinson's New York 2140 which shows the city submerged in water (though not sure if it really counts since the buildings are all "futurized" as well as Only the Dead Know Brooklyn by Chris Vola which shows the Brooklyn Bridge (which I personally would love to see more on covers! There are already plenty featuring buildings.)
I saw 2140 (Kristen had it on her list)- an amazing cover! Love the idea of NY partially flooded. And the Brooklyn Bridge- yeah need that on more covers!
Breakfast at Tiffany's is such a great pick for this topic! Both the covers that you included are iconic NYC, in my opinion. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares is another great one - and an awesome book too (from what I remember)!
I stumbled on that one and was so glad I did. Nothing says New York like Breakfast at Tiffany's. :) Glad you liked them! And I've had dash & Lily on my maybe list for a bit- maybe I should tackle it!
Oooh, great covers! Both of the Breakfast at Tiffany's ones are great, but gotta admit my favorite is The Shambling Guide to New York City. Now I have to investigate that title. XD
I'll always be a New Yorker in my heart, and I absolutely LOVE all of the covers you chose! Not only is the cover for Dash & Lily's Book of Dares fantastic, but the book itself is one big valentine to NYC at Christmas. :D A sequel was released last year, and I NEED to make it my holiday read this year!
I love the covers for The Immortals and Winter of the Gods too much. Especially since you didn't even love Winter of the Gods, why do I want to own these so badly? I also had NO idea that Isla took place in New York! The only one i knew was Anna because... French Kiss hahah. (Suppose I should have looked more closely at the cover.) I like the cover of Dash & Lily too! These are great picks!
OMG, these are all AWESOME covers!!! I had no idea that New York City had inspired so many!
I love that you've included two different covers for "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Both are GREAT!! I need to read this book, and watch the movie. My favorite Audrey Hepburn movie is "Sabrina", so far.
The cover for "The Shambling Guide to New York City" is a very funny one!
I also love the covers for "Winter of the Gods" and "Dash & Lily's Book of Dares".
GREAT choices, Greg!!!
Thanks for commenting on my own cover feature last week!! Hope you're having a wonderful week!! :) :) :)
Winter of the Gods is my favorite because it totally made me pick it up when I saw it sitting on the table at the bookstore where I work and made me want to read it. Great picks!

Both of those books look fabulous.
DeleteYep. New York City seems to be a popular choice! I especially love seeing NYC in ruins. :D
ReplyDeleteHa ha NYC in ruins- that is pretty good!
