Sunday Post
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
This was a good week with lots of stuff going on. The weather alternated between sunny and mild to blustery and cold late in the week. I watched a lot of Netflix and read too, occasionally.
The HoHoHo readathon was last week and I won a $10 gift card from Christy's Love of Books. Thanks Christy! And all the challenge hosts did a great job. I also spotlighted my Top Ten Planets for SciFi Month and reviewed Illuminae as well. Next week I'll have a Thanksgiving edition of Top Ten Tuesday as well as Beyond the Books and my thoughts on A Princess of Mars- my last post for SciFi Month.
It's snowing as I write this and the trees and lawn are white. We're supposed to get a fair bit this weekend so it should be interesting.

You have snow?!? Keep it please. I don't want any here for another month. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning the gift card! What will you get with it, any ideas?
Have a good week and stay warm!
Yes, it's all white here! Gah we got just enough to make it slippery- but the trees look nice. :)
DeleteI'm not sure what to get with the gift card, I'm trying to figure out which book I want next. :)
Thanks for the mention Greg!!
ReplyDeleteIt has started snowing here today, it is snowing lightly but it makes me feel Christmassy already!!
Well done on winning the $10! Spend it wisely!!
Have a good week!
Snowy there too huh? It does make it seem Christmasy though, I agree.
DeleteI hope you enjoyed Illuminae - everyone seems to love it and I noted the news now that Brad Pitt's going to make it into a movie or something.
ReplyDeleteGuess you're counting down the days until the new Star Wars movie is out!
I did enjoy it, I didn't love it as much as some did but I gave it a positive review, it is certainly an interesting book.
DeleteCongrats on winning the gift card...that's always fun.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your various challenges, and the upcoming holidays. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thank you, and you as well. Hope it's a good week. :)
DeleteI just looked up Jessica Jones ... looks good. I like Krysten Ritter too, so I'll have to watch it. I loved that song on Izabel's post too and had to watch all the other videos. Hopw you get something swell with your gift card. ;) Have a great week, Greg.
ReplyDeleteI'm already almost through the season... I guess that's why they call it binging LOL. Hope you like it. And I have to admit I didn't know who Lindsey Stirling was, but I'm a fan now. That song is fun. :)
DeleteOh snow! They talked about wet snow here yesterday but I don't think there was any. It is getting colder here too. Into the Dim looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. :)
We got cold the last few days...
DeleteWe were supposed to get snow this morning, but woke up to a bright, blue sky and still green on the ground. I was actually disappointed!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get my hands on Illuminae! I can't wait to read it, and now it's going to become a movie as well...
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading, Greg.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks Lexxie- you too. We got a blue sky too, and it looks nice with the snow on the ground. I kinda hope it doesn't stick around too long though... :)
DeleteSnow. No thank you. I am sure it will make it's way here soon but I am in denial :) Jessica Jones is on my radar but there just isn't enough time!! Hope you are enjoying it. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't stick around too long. I hate driving in it... luckily it already seems to be melting mostly since the sun is out. I hope it holds off in your area! Have a great Thanksgiving week!
DeleteYou keep that snow up there with you! :) I am through with winter weather already. Not watched Jessica Jones yet but I am sure I will eventually. Is it good? That Lindsay Stirling is so freaking awesome, love her music!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading,
Stormi
Week in Review
I like Lindsey Stirling too, after seeing that. :) I'll have to check out more of her stuff. Jessica Jones is pretty good, definitely more adult than most superhero shows, that's for sure! Not for the kiddies LOL.
DeleteThe top ten planets idea for a post was great! I had to go check it out. I always thought Tatooine was a great name for a planet. You would think it would be the name of Tattoo Artist shops!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I appreciate it. It was fun to put together, and I agree about the name. How they came up with all those names is beyond me- and I'm sure they had little idea they would become so popular!
DeleteWe've had what is shaping up to be the warmest November on record... and only a trace of snow (which is fine by me). They're even starting to refer to the month as no-snow November. That may not hold as it's supposed to start snowing later today, but it sure was nice while it lasted!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been watching much Netflix this week... seem to be addicted to the Thanksgiving challenges on the Food Network's Chopped at the moment, lol!
That sounds fun- this is a good time of year for food LOL. Our Nov was actually pretty nice too, we got snow and 20's yesterday but otherwise it's been pretty mild here, and we had some 70's even earlier this month.
DeleteCongrats for winning the $10 gift card! That is wonderful. I am kind of jealous of the snow. I love snow. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you? You can have this! Although I have to admit, I don't mind (yet) because it's pretty on the trees and we didn't get that much.
DeleteI've always wanted a white Christmas but we have to drive up to Lake Tahoe to get any snow. Our weather is finally cooling down but we still have warm days. Congrats on winning the gift card! I'm in the mood now to read holiday stories. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and week!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how some who get snow every year want to head someplace warm, and vice versa. :) I like snow on Christmas but after that it can go away. It doesn't usually though, Jan and Feb in Michigan are pretty bleak. You have a great week - and happy Thanksgiving!
DeleteI've only had time to watch the first three episodes of Jessica Jones but I'm liking it so far! I've pre-ordered Need so I look forward to seeing what you think of it!
ReplyDeletehttp://dualreads.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/sunday-post-22nd-november.html
I've been waiting on Need for a while so it's nice to get to it. I hope you like JJ, I've been watching this weekend
DeleteI love Lindsey Sterling, I have watched that video so many times this week and listened to her entire album. She is such a ball of energy.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the look of Into the Dim, will need to jump over to Goodreads and give it a look over :)
This week was warm and no its finally chilly. I just want it to stay chilly. I am so jealous of your snow. However me might start seeing some in December. The snow fall in the early winter is always the most magical :)
Have a great week Greg! Happy Reading! ox
She is so fun, I love that song and will definitely be checking out more of her stuff. I agree, the first snow is always so nice and it was that way here- it was light out because of all the snow and the trees were covered, this morning we had a blue sky and it looked great. Sorry... LOL. It's starting to melt now, though...
DeleteHope you get some snow soon, and have a super Thanksgiving!!
Snow?? I about cried this morning because the temperature was in the low 40s. I think snow would send me back to bed for the remainder of the day. Not a fan! I'm curious about the Jessica Jones show. I want to finish up the show I'm watching now but that might be next. It looks interesting. Looking forward to seeing where you want to eat turkey! That's a great idea for a list! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJessica Jones is good, although very adult at times- definitely not for kids! I think they overdid it a bit, but that's just me. A little too adult, maybe. And we got in the 20's yesterday... brr. No thanks.
DeleteI had a lot of fun with my Top Ten post, looking forward to seeing them all this week!
I wouldn't mind a white Christmas. Although the last time we did it was a white out with drifts higher than our front doors. Hope you have a lovely week Greg.
ReplyDeleteI like white Christmas, although often have to travel and that's no fun if the roads are bad.
DeleteMuch prefer snow to the rain we're having. I started .jessica Jones yesterday and so far really enjoying, have a good week. Emma
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the series, I'm closing in on the end (been binging on and off all weekend).
DeleteYour TTT freebie is priceless. Ha ha. I will definitely be dropping by to read it. I have to come back to see your Illumimnae review. I still haven't read mine yet. Too many readathons! Have the best Thanksgiving ever. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too! My TTT is definitely a little different, it's kind of fantasy based so it should be - different!
DeleteYay for winning that gift card! It's always fun to win a gift card and get to decide where to spend it on. Into the Dim looks good. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you did better at HoHoHoRAT than I did! I basically just gave up... Oops! Into the Dim is high on my list of to-reads! Oh, and my brother is basically in love with Lindsay Sterling! He saw her in concert recently! Have a fantastic week! :D
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap!
Snow! We probably won't get much if any this winter. Though you never know down here in NC. I haven't watched Jessica Jones, but I want to. Is it pretty good?
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to read Into The Dim! Also, it's 90 degrees here...soo, I'm slightly jealous of your colder weather.
ReplyDeleteHere is my The Sunday Post!
I hate cold weather and it was pretty chilly today but I am very thankful that we don't have snow. My sister got between 3-5 inches in her area of Indiana and a friend in Chicago got 7. I hope we don't get any accumulating snow till after Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out your review of Illuminae. I have that on my TBR pile and hope to get to it soon.
I am curious about Jessica Jones but I don't really know much about it or if I want to add another show to my watchlist. I started watching Supergirl and I liked the pilot. I love seeing all those clips and promos for the new Star Wars movie. I can't wait to see it!
Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!
Snow already? And I am planning to bundle up for 30 degrees tonight. I like the looks of both Into the Dim and Need. Thanks for sharing the fun clips.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and Happy Reading!
It was so pretty that my daughter and I stopped along side a road and took pictures. It is almost all gone now. Supposed to be almost 50 on Thanksgiving! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover of Into the Dim, it would make me want to read it, and blurb intrigues too.
ReplyDeleteI know I avoid tv and skip idle chit-chat, but how in the world did I miss the arrival of Star Wars in December?
ReplyDeletehttp://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2015/11/nonfiction-november.html
I've been hearing about a fair bit of snow this Monday so far - it's always hit and miss as to weather we'll get snow here in UK, although some areas (not mine) have experienced quite some snowfall already this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to watch Jessica Jones - is it worth it? I'm currently watching House on Netflix, I know it's a pretty old show but I never watched it first time round.
I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads - looks like some good 'uns.
Reading With Jade
I don't even want to think about snow. Uggghhhh.
ReplyDeleteIt is very chilly here today but sunny. I wish it were warmer so I could take a walk. I guess I could bundle up, but brrrrrr.
Have a great week...looks like you have a good one.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
No snow yet here, and that's just find by me. I added Jessica Jones to our queue but we're slow watchers. We need to finish up some of the series we have going already before we start something else. What do you think so far?
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and enjoy your week!
Loving the look of NEED - fierce teenage girl cover right there. Have a great reading week and Happy Thanksgiving!
