Sunday Post #58
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
This week has been quiet and mostly uneventful. I've been traveling for work so I haven't been around much on the blog, but I have finished a few books and have reviews coming. I have a few Bookstore Spotlights coming up in the next few weeks as well. Labor Day weekend is coming up and we don't have any plans yet, although the Michigan Renaissance Festival is calling us. I guess it's a toss up between that or a last trip to the beach.
Gen Con broke attendance records this year- over 50,000 people attended, and by all accounts the place was jam packed. As I mentioned last week, I didn't attend this year but will definitely be there next year. I have some links below with pics.
I know COYER is winding down but I have a few reviews coming soon that I'm going to sneak in at the last minute.

Wow! Getting ahead of yourself there, it's still Saturday here :) I haven't written mine yet. It's on my to-do list for tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the Michigan Renaissance festival.
ReplyDeleteHere too, I am a little ahead this week. :) I seem to be putting this together on Sat mornings lately... Have a great weekend!
DeleteHard choice to make, hope you can do both! It has been a great beach weekend. Counterfeit Lady looks good. We Are Liars was a good read, hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI need to update my COYER links, I'm behind again.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, this week will be a little less busy at work. I'm looking forward to your review of The Counterfeit Lady.
Have a good week. :)
Me too, I'm so behind on COYER! The Counterfeit LAdy is good so far, nice to revisit those characters.
DeleteYou have a great week too!
Very happy to see We Were Liars and Divergent on there. I love them both but hopefully you won't find them over hyped. Looking forward to your thoughts on them.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't resist Divergent, hey ? I don't think I'll be able to resist it either. I don't know about the Liars, though. Have a great week !
ReplyDeleteI am excited for your for your new arrivals. I hope you'll enjoy reading them. Have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
Thank you Camille, I'm kinda excited about those too. My reading has been all over the map lately genre- wise.. :)
DeleteI think it's a great experience when you branch out to other genres because you never know what might click for you. :) Enjoy your books!
DeleteDIVERGENT IS AWESOME! I love that series so much! I know a lot of people hate the 3rd book, but I thought it was flawless. Oh, and We Were Liars is amazing. The ending is definitely worth it. ;) My Sunday Post!
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of stuff about the third one too, and it did sour me on reading the for a while, but I'm going to take the plunge. :) I love shock endings too...
DeleteI heard great things about We were liars and the end. I really want to read it just to see what everyone is talking about :)
ReplyDeleteI was following Gen Con on FB and Twitter and it looked like so much fun, something else to add to my bucket list :)
Have a great week Greg!!!
Enjoy your new books. Divergent is really good and I would like to read We Are Liars. Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
Hope you enjoy We Were Liars...an unexpected twist in that one. Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot Coyer is ending soon, I had two new reviews on the blog this week that I linked up and I hope to get another 1 or 2 books read and reviewed before the end of Coyer. I am actually curious to find out how many books I've read in total, I've been adding each book i read to a schedule recap post, but didn't actually count them yet.
ReplyDeleteI loved Divergent, but I thought the second book was just okay and I still haven't read the third book yet.
I hear so many mixed things about Divergent, a lot of people seem to really like the first (and second) ones and the third seems to generate a lot of debate! I guess i'll know more for myself after I read the first one. I rather liked the movie.
DeleteMe too with COYER, the summer has flown by and I thought I would read more, and have more reviews, but I'll get a few in at the end here. :)
I've read and enjoyed Divergent (didn't see the movie but my eldest and her daughter enjoyed it very much). I also have We Were Liars and need to read it before someone gives the ending away by accident!
ReplyDeleteOh Greg, what a tough decision between last trip to the beach and Ren Faire! I would want to do both. Maybe choose Ren Faire and still go to the beach another weekend before Fall sneaks up? Whatever you do, enjoy it!
Your post reminds me that: (a) Divergent is still on my shelf waiting to be read, and (b) I haven't been to the beach this summer. I better get going on both accounts :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new reads and have a great week.
I'm so behind on submitting my COYER reviews it's not even funny. It's going to take a serious effort to get that all done. The Counterfeit Lady looks like a fun read. My daughter read Divergent earlier this year and enjoyed the book though wasn't fond of the series as a while. We Were Liars is definitely an interesting read. I look forward to seeing your take on it! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a Renaissance Fair but it sounds like it'll be lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteWe Were Liars! Yes, it is a short, fantastic, mind tripping read, haha. Hope you enjoy it!
Enjoy 'Liars' it's a blast and very easy to do in one sitting without realising it. And thanks for reminding me to post to the COYER list.

I've noticed the book reads really fast. That's nice since I should be able to finish it quick even as I'm reading something else too. I'm really curious to see what's coming up at the end. :)
DeleteAnd yes, COYER... I have some catching up to do there...
I read a few chapters of We Were Liars, but I am not as patient as I used to be and set it aside for something else. I hope I'll get back to it again soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to have some fun no matter where you go. I've been wanting to read We Were Liars so I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'll check out Michelle's readathon! Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI have some COYER reviews to finish up too. I'm not sure if I want to read We Were Liars or not. It doesn't really appeal to me but everyone was raving over it so I don't know.
ReplyDeleteGreat weekly wrap-up post! The Counterfeit Lady looks like a good read.
ReplyDeleteThanks Irene! I have high hopes for it, I'm just a little ways in but I like the setting and the characters, so so far so good.
DeleteThe Kate Parker book looks good. We don't have plans for the Labor Day weekend yet either. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteA renaissance festival? That's so cool! :D I hope you manage to visit it, and that you have a great time. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteWe Were Liars seems like the perfect book to close out the summer! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteI loved Divergent and I want to read We Were Liars, I've heard nothing but good about that one! Tough decision, I love the beach but I'm leaning towards that renaissance festival ... pictures would be good ;) ... living vicariously and all that lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and enjoy your reads.
We are renfest goers, too. :) How much longer do you have to make a renfest trip? I say go to the beach while you still can and then hit up renfest as it gets cooler if you can swing it. If not - gotta go with renfest. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow...nice week for you.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get into The Wild Dark Flowers...maybe I should have given it more time.
The Counterfeit Lady looks cute.
ENJOY all your books and your reading week.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
You know, I was not as impressed with WDF as I was with its predecessor. Have to say I was a little disappointed with it actually...
DeleteThe Counterfeit Lady is another awaited installment and I'm liking that one a bit more...
Thanks for stopping by Elizabeth!
That's a tough choice between the beach or the Renaissance Fair. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy your last few weeks of summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and do a bit of a costume for ICON 39 in October. It's over Halloween weekend so there will probably more people dressed up than normal.
