Sunday Post #546

 




So I'm starting a Discord server. Come hang out with me! I'm thinking of doing buddy reads and watchalongs with this. It's so cooler than Twitter. What you do is you create a Discord account (if you don't already) and join my group. Or add me at greg3304. 

Simple! It's just like a chat room and there are different channels to talk about different things. Like if you want to talk about Movies That Suck you go there. I'm planning on being there quite a bit as I love Discord the more I'm exploring it. 

Or you can just talk about anything in the main room. Oh, and some of you probably know more about it than me, so be patient with me while I learn the ins and outs. I'm going to post artwork there like I used to do on my Sunday Posts, what I'm listening to.

    I think I have an account. A group of bloggers put one together to chat dram free several years ago but I think everyone drifted off lol
    It's been hard finding a place that feels fun and works.

      Cool vintage book! Oh, the Suessathon was at the library to day..also my weekend. Last minute that swapped supervisors so we had one that just wasn't around for anything. Hopefully, we can manage tomorrow. Warm and windy here. Still have not heard back yet from the bloodwork like I had hoped. OH..and Amazon lost my package..ugh... All the best to a peaceful weekend.     I feel like I'm in the same boat as Roberta R there. My very first thought was "oh man, you mean I'd have to sign up for yet another account?"
    Sorry Greg, it's just not going to happen. I like the idea, a lot. A built in forum is great. but I'm already overloading with just the little I already do.

    I had a Discord at one point but I don't remember the login or password. Sounds like a good idea though, it'll be fun!

    Cool. I'll go check out your Discord server. I haven't really done much with it yet, but I do miss having something like Twitter to discuss books.

    I first watched The Birds when I was 14. The next day I rode my bike around my neighborhood and there was a flock of seagulls flying above me that made me nervous, lol. I recovered pretty quickly, though, especially compared to how Arachnophobia and Psycho affected me as a kid / teenager.

    I joined! In fairness, I will likely forget it exists most of the time, which is how I generally am with all social media, but you never know! I also really like the concept, but man, it is hard to keep track of all the things! I feel like no ONE thing will ever replace Twitter, which is the problem, and now I feel like everyone I know went to a different platform and... how the heck do you juggle it all? (Spoiler: I don't 😂 But I will try!)

    That Discord account sounds like fun. I have a lot of K-drama to talk about. Call me a Koreaboo, a word I just found out existed for one obsessed with K drama.

    My problem with Discord is that I quickly get overwhelmed. I have loads of servers I don't look at... I should cull things so I have more energy for the ones I do enjoy, or cool new things that come along.

    There are parts of The Birds that are so chilling but others that I just love to sit back, pick apart, and mock. LOL Last week's lyrics stumped my but this week's I got immediately. :)

    I joined! I have a discord for my Youtube channel, they can be pretty fun. I have gotten to know a lot of people online. The Bird! It always makes me chuckle that it scared people.

    Have fun on discord. The birds is a creepy premise (I think birds are scary as heck), but looking at the movie now, it is super cheesy.

    I have a Discord account but I've never really understood it. I remember the Birds from when I was pretty young and it totally creeped me out.

    J. Geils Band...now there's one I haven't heard in a while. I love some of their music. I had a Discord account a year or two ago, but I couldn't keep up with it, so I canceled it. Maybe at some point I'll give it another try. Have a great week. :)

    I use Discord a little bit for a couple games I play, though I mostly lurk, and it's just not quite the same for me as social media. It's really a shame there's no social media anymore the way Twitter used to be. Good luck with your server, sounds like it'll be fun!

    I don't have a Discord a/c - I seem to recall that my daughter had one at some stage. And I remember watching The Birds - but I never could understand exactly why the birds all went feral and vicious because of a pair of lovebirds! Have a great week and best of luck with the social media:)).

    I've got Discord and use it for a multitude of things. However, I'm not active lol. I still haven't gotten the hang of online activity after all of these years. I'm very old school and prefer face-to-face convos. I'll join your server in an effort to wish you luck :) Have an amazing week!
