This week is Top Ten new to me authors in 2018. It's been a pretty good year for me and new authors- I've discovered a ton- so this was a fun list to make. Here are some of my new faves.
Kara Thomas might be at the top of my list- I really enjoyed this one.
Alice Reeds made this book work somehow, with two related narratives that could have been alternate timelines or alternate worlds- you never really know until the end.
One of my favorite books of 2018. I'm hoping we get a sequel.
I'm so glad there's a 3rd book coming.
After reading this I absolutely need more books by Lynn Weingarten.
I'll definitely be reading the next book by this author.
Carrie Vaughn has me hooked on the Kitty Norville series.
This was fun.
Good stuff.
Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner knocked this one out of the park.

Glad you had a great year of new author discoveries, Greg! I didn't discover many just because I didn't read all that many books. But here's hoping in 2019 that changes. :)
ReplyDeleteSo many of these books are on my to read list - especially Bad Girls with Perfect Faces. A lot of great new authors in 2018!
ReplyDeleteOoh you discovered some great authors, Greg. I recently read and enjoyed The Woman In The Window. Great list! My TTT
ReplyDeleteI want to read Kitty Norville! Maybe The Woman in the Window too. Glad to hear you found some great new authors!
ReplyDeleteAlice Reeds posted that Echoes was a #1 Best Seller on Amazon! I was so happy to see that, because I know it didn't get a ton of publicity initially.
ReplyDeleteAll new to me authors. I liked the sound of the Kara Thomas book so appreciate the updates.
ReplyDeleteYes of course to The Extinction Trials-just about three weeks to go to the next one! I've also got The River At Night and want to read An Unwanted Guest. I hope you keep enjoying the Kitty books!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I don't think I've read any of these authors so I'll have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteI don't know any of these authors. Makes me wonder how many talented authors are out there for me to bo discovered.
ReplyDeleteOoh nice ones! I started reading Kara Thomas maybe 2 years ago and really enjoyed her books to date! Alice Reeds made my list too, naturally! LOL. LOVE the Kitty Norville series...though I am ashamed to admit I still need to finish it! Think I have like 2 books left. Eep. Also still need to read The Extinction Trials! Hoping to have more time for whatever books I want to read once I get through my review books...which are still books I want to read too!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Bad Girls was my first Weingarten book too, and I was very, very impressed. My daughter had been telling me to read Suicide Notes for ages, and now I know I absolutely will. Thomas' debut was a winner for me, and I need to read more of her books...soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to get to The Cheerleaders this year!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you like most about The Extinction Trials? It's still on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteThis is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I read a few of these, too! I added Kara Thomas' other book to my TBR after reading The Cheerleaders.
ReplyDeleteyay for The Woman in the Window. I look forward to more books by him.
ReplyDeleteThe Kitty Norville series sounds good! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI just HAD to put Wolves of Winter on my list as well. I love that book so much and think more people need to see and read it!
ReplyDeleteI'm really anxious to try Shari Lapena's books, maybe this year?!😊
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen several by Shari Lapena that sound so good. I need to pick up something by her this year.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read An Unwanted Guest and Obscura. I still need to read The Cheerleaders, but I LOVE her first two books.

I really enjoyed the ones by Kara Thomas that I tried
ReplyDeleteOoh The Jetsons! Is that the same as the cartoon that used to be on? I LOVED that show.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT post!
I'm intrigued by these potential alternate timelines for Echoes. Glad you enjoyed all these authors!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Bad Girls with Perfect Faces! I have that one. I need to read it soon!
ReplyDeleteThe Kitty Norville series was awesome. It's definitely one of my favorite urban fantasy series. I really want to read Echoes and The Extinction Trials. Those books sound so good! Great list! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad Carrie Vaughan made your list. I love the Kitty Norville series. :) I haven't read any of the others on your list but I'll be adding a few of those to my tbr. :)
ReplyDeleteHooray on finding a lot of new authors! I didn't discover as many, unfortunately, but maybe that will change for the new year?
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the audiobook of The Cheerleaders to come in - hopefully soon! :)
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
I mean, go stalk Tyrell and see if there's a sequel! Because there really should be. The possibilities! I really liked the Kara Thomas books I have read- I need to read this one, too. I probably read some new authors in 2018 but I was too lazy to look. Tyrell would be one though! And also the Extinction Trials person.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing The Wolves of Winter on many lists today, it's making me even more curious to check it out. And Shari Lapena almost made it to my list too, but alas I could only choose 10!

Really great list! I love Kara Thomas, I'm always happy when she has a new book out. I thought Unwanted Guest was certainly Shari LaPena's best work yet, really fun. I haven't read a lot of these but I'm going to check them out!!

This is the second time today I've seen Wolves of Winter, and now I'm curious. Cheerleaders has sort of been on my radar lately too. The only one of these I've read is Bad Girls W/Perfect Faces, with that delightfully creepy cover.
ReplyDeleteBad Girls with Perfect Faces looks fantastic -- awesome cover to boot !
ReplyDeleteI really want to read more books by Kara Thomas and A.J. Finn too.
ReplyDeleteI have the Wolves of Winter lined up because of your review :)
ReplyDeleteOooo I loved Echoes!! That was such an unexpected book. I thought I knew exactly what was gonna happen, but NOPE. Lol. Great list!
ReplyDeleteYesss! Your good taste is showing! But for real, LOVE that you started with The Cheerleaders. It's been months and I'm still going back to thinking about that book, it was so great.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read The Cheerleaders. I'm like number 24 on the waitlist at the library. I may just cave and use an audible credit to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteTina @ As Told By Tina
I was going to read The CHeerleaders last year, but never got to it in the end. Your list is great and I will be checking out the titles soon!
ReplyDeleteMarti @Bookish Treats
Great list. I like the look of the art on the Jetsons!
