I am so impressed by this. I struggle when I have to find a cover that is a particular cover, never mind that it features portholes. Well done! I have read exactly zero of these, but at least I have heard of a few.
Neat to see all those porthole covers. I just read a steampunk romance earlier this year that had a porthole on the cover. This reminds me that I still need to read Woman in Cabin 10.
Oh I like this theme! It's interesting how many there are, and how many different ways they are used to express different ideas. I think Charlie Chan Carries On is really fun, but Glow certainly stands out.
The Agatha Christie is so over the top sinister! I love it! I like the James Bond cover. I hadn't seen that one before and The Woman in Cabin 10 cover is amazing!
It's always super cool to see covers from old books. It would fun to find a bookstore that had an entire section dedicated to these. Hugs and Happy Wednesday! RO
I would never have thought there were so many covers with portholes on them. Haha! I will admit that the eye catching cover is one of the reasons I read The Woman in Cabin 10. Like the Christie cover also.
I didn't realise there were so many of them with portholes on the covers! I have actually not ready of them but I did just get Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie - my cover is just different.
Who knew there were so many covers with port holes. I just read the Women in Cabin 10. It was pretty good.

ReplyDeleteYou did such a great job with this post, Greg! Who would have ever thought I'd be into portholes? Lol The vintage covers are my faves :)
ReplyDeleteThere is something satisfying about having a porthole on the cover of a book.
ReplyDeleteI say this every time but I really do love those old time covers, they are just so much fun.
ReplyDeletePortholes are awesome! I know I've seen other porthole books out there, but I'd have to go searching. Very cool list!
ReplyDeleteI never realized this was a bit of a cover theme. I really liked The Woman in Cabin 10.

I thought you had done this before! But really there are SO many porthole covers that you could probably do a few posts with them.

it would be difficult for me to find some
ReplyDeleteHave you read Glow?? That book disturbed and angered me. Like, I seriously wanted to kill some people.

Love all those old covers...especially The Land That Time Forgot!

ReplyDeleteI love anything to do with water, so portholes fits right in there!

It's definitely a unique view! Not so good when you see something you don't expect to, like that ginormous eye!
