Sunday Post #160

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Another beautiful week- 70's during the day, cooler at night. Smooth sailing this week as far as weather. I had a good week of reading too, finishing up books left and right- and no Netflix again. For a whole week! Other than it was pretty quiet. I'm still working ahead a bit on Tagline posts and other stuff for fall.

In other news I joined Instagram (thanx Erin!) and now I have to figure it out! So if you see a follower request from some dude named Greg- that would be me.

This week I reviewed The Incident on the bridge and I'll have my thoughts on The Girl From The Sea on Thursday. I'm also blowing through the Night School books- I'm posting those reviews on Fridays- book three will be this week.

  1. It's so much easier to finish books when you're not tempted by Netflix! A whole week without it?? LOL. It's been gorgeous here, too, but the week seemed to get away from me - not a single blog post since Monday. Most of my free time was spent reading/listening to Germinal for a readalong... so good, but very heavy. Have a good week!

    1. I agree! :) Shutting off Netflix has boosted my reading big time! And yes a week for me is a long time ha ha.

  3. The weather is amazing the last two days, it's going to seriously rain tomorrow but we need it. I am loving this weather and I am hoping next week doesn't get to hot again. I just want summer over now.

Welcome to instagram :) I actually love that app.

I hope you have an amazing week, Greg! Happy Reading!

    1. It's been really nice here too. But I want fall now- the breezes, the cooler days, all that. And thanks- I think Instagram will be fun, I'll try my hand at some bookish pics. Should be a riot. :)

  4. I still haven't figured out Instagram. I have had an account for over a year and posted maybe 6 times. I don't think I take enough pictures. Well I take pictures of my kids at school but I can't share those...

I'm enjoying your reviews on night school, it's on my must read list at this point!

Have a great week and keep enjoying your beautiful fall weather!!

  5. Glad your week has gone well! You certainly have been busy on your blog recently-- good going! I always love to check out your pulp covers and your featured artwork. I can't get away from Netflix for a whole week, but I have been consistently reading, so it's all good. Enjoy the week ahead!

  6. Yay for a productive week! Hulu is hurting my reading as I've fallen down a rabbit hole with a show that I can't stop watching! I'm on Instagram too though I'm awful at actually using it! Love the cave map! Wouldn't it be fantastic to have a secret lair! Have a great week!

  7. I am almost afraid to try Instagram...but I do love the presentations of pix that people spotlight on their blogs. I'm tempted, but very afraid...lol.

I haven't watched Netflix today...trying something different. Reading. My weekends are usually about viewing.

Great videos and images! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  8. I love that map, I love maps in general, I blame the Lord of the Rings for that! Yay for Instagram, I find I am overwhelmed by the amount of book bloggers on it with such amazing props!

Have a great week (and remember to read Omnia or else.......)

And instagram.... I'm there but a binge-user so I'll keep an eye out for you. I don't design beautiful book-like photos I'm afraid, but usually share a pic of my book perched on the side of the bath (where I read!)

  13. Night School Legacy has a nice cover! And lol, you're just joining IG while I'm contemplating giving up since I rarely use it and deleting my account, especially now that people are finding me through there -_-

And oh my goodness, did she really do 75 jello shots?! Wouldn't it have just been easier to drink the vodka in some juice or something? Lol. Entertaining video though.

    1. I love that cover! I'm even using it for a future Tagline post since that one caught my eye. I'll shamelessly use the same cover over and over if I can ... :)

I have no idea about IG but it looks kinda fun. Is it just pics from a phone? Although I get what you mean about people finding- I don't mind the occasional visit because I know it's infrequent, but I like my blog separate and if certain people started finding it I might not be crazy about that either.

And I know- 75??? WTF? That's like the wildest Tipsy reader I've seen. It was funny though.

I think I have the first Night School book so I need to try it as it seems they must be pretty good. :)

Got to get in some reading this week cause I will be binging netflix this coming weekend for Longmire season 5 comes out on the 23rd. :)

I must say your choice in music scares me just by looking at the still of the video on here...lol. To afraid to click and see what happens. :)

  19. Tangerine Dream takes me back to my childhood. I loved the soundtrack for that old movie Legend (with the unicorns) and listened to them a lot. I'm digging the Stranger Things music.
I don't think I could survive without Netflix these days but mostly just because it's the only streaming platform I use right now. We are finally watching season 6 of The Walking Dead.
Have a great week, Greg, and thanks so much for continuing to stop by LazyDayLit despite how mia I've been these past couple of weeks! :D

    1. I love Tangerine Dream and have been a fan for a long time. And Legend- loved that movie. The elves and the awesome music... watched it so many times.

I would have a hard time w/o Netflix since I don't have cable- so yeah Netflix is about my only way to watch unless I buy something at amazon. And you're welcome- you've had some great posts lately. :)

It sucks me in and then I forget about the other things I need to do, especially now that little man is in school during the day and I don't have to wait for him to go to bed. Love the pics you found of concept art for Star Wars :) I have a little boy that is obsessed with Star Wars. In fact we just remodeled his room and hung up a bunch of posters and pics. Hope you have a great week. Happy reading :)
