So... Memorial Day weekend is here in the US. Anyone have plans? It's going to be a quiet weekend around here, which is fine with me. I could use some reading this weekend. May is almost over and I'm ready for summer. I had a pretty good week and am making a dent- sorta- in my overflowing books. I'm continuing with my reviews of Star Trek: The Animated Series and Jonny Quest as well, along with Movies That Suck, so it's been kinda busy on the blog lately!

This past week I reviewed Menagerie and Jonny Quest episode one, and Movies That Suck this week was The Birds. Although it didn't suck, actually, and next week I'll be looking at Urban Cowboy.

Happy Memorial Day to those who celebrate, and happy weekend to everyone else!!

  1. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Sky in the Deep. When you commented on my review I think you said you were 90% of the way through? I hope the rest of it didn't disappoint! :D

  8. My daughter is with her father this weekend, so I will be reading and writing as usual. I posted last night about my recent struggles with reviewing

    https://allthebookblognamesaretaken.blogspot.com/2018/05/so-ive-been-thinking.html

and I am feeling kind of burned out. BUT, I am going to at least try to get the ARCs reviewed and feedback sent. And of course work on my own project, because that is kind of important ;)

    1. Well good luck with the writing, sometimes a long quiet weekend is just the trick? Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit burned out, tho. Reviewing can be a pain and breaks are good! Have a super weekend!!!

  9. My Grandpa is almost 93 and being honored for his service in WWII this weekend. I am sure I will be a bawling mess. Enjoy the long weekend and I hope you get lots of reading done. I hope to finish a book I just started. It is supposed to be in the mid 90s here so I am guessing I will be inside reading most of the time.

  12. I don’t really have plans. My neighbors are having a giant graduation party for their daughter, and all the other neighbors are invited. My job is to watch everybody’s dogs. All the dogs that live in the apartments are coming over to my house on party day. I guess the neighbors know that I’m not the partying type. I’ll hang out with the dogs.

  24. What a great reminder of the classic Birds movie, which I loved, and I was hiding from birds for months. (lol) There are lots of behind the scenes stories of what Tippi Hedren went through during that movie. Really gone now. Hugs. RO

We went out of town for Friday night but the rest of the weekend is going to be pretty quiet. I enjoyed your post on The Birds and it really made me want to see the movie. Can't wait to see what you think of Urban Cowboy! Have a great week!

  52. I hope you enjoy Survive the Night. I read it some time ago and found it just "meh." But lots of people liked it. It's been hot and pretty busy this Memorial Day. Saturday I took Gpa to the country to honor his family graves, then yesterday, Me and Mr. Barb worked in the back yard some and I planted flowers. This morning I went strawberry picking with Gpa while Mr. Barb works. Looking forward to chilling this evening.
