Comic of the Week has been on a long hiatus but I wanted to bring it back since I've been reading graphic novels and comics again. Every week I'm going to showcase a comic or GN cover- could be old, could be new- and share a few thoughts on why I think it's special. Do you like what I picked out? Let me know in the comments, and as always, if you have a favorite cover or piece of comic art, let me know!
This week is Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers #3. A rather tongue-in-cheek title, this short series had amazing art. Here they seem to be sinking beneath the waves, to be met by Gigantor from the deeps?

Ooh that cover is awesome! And I love when comics actually use the comic medium to do cool stuff with the art, like the vertical panels showing them falling!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it though? I love it!Something about water... and I agree, I loe how they did it with the vertical panels.
DeleteLOVE the panels! Comic books are so awesome, it's been years since I read them. Looks like a fun series. :)
ReplyDeleteI do too, I really like how they did this. Awesome art!
DeleteThis is a new comic series for me. Pet Avengers?! Are these pets with superhero powers? Do they save other pets? I'm so confused!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of a tongue-in-cheek story, with the pets of various Avengers teaming up. Like Falcon's Redwing and stuff. I think it's a few years old though...
DeleteOMG I need to find these!
ReplyDeleteThey are fun!
DeleteI love this series of yours and I might borrow it for my blog, although lately I did not read a lot of comics. Pet Avengers sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeletePet Avengers??!! I don't know how I feel about this. Sounds cheesy but PET AVENGERS.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
