Top Ten Halloween Freebie

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back to The Broke and the Bookish so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is a Halloween themed freebie. I had a hard time deciding what to do for this so I split the difference and went with both music and books. I like music that sets a certain tone or mood- the days get shorter, the leaves turn and fall, and the wind howls through the trees. Perhaps our mood changes with the seasons? So here are some song choices to set a certain mood.

SONGS

This is an instrumental track but I love how atmospheric it is.

Same here- these two songs go well together and are great at setting a mood.

Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness

Screams break the silence
Waking from the dead of night

  1. Great atmospheric song choices! And you're right, Nightstruck would be a great Halloween read. It's not exactly scary, but it was definitely one of the creepier books I read this year. And I love those 13 covers!

  6. I just grabbed City of the Lost from Book Outlet and am waiting for it to arrive. I love The Lost Boys Soundtrack but my favorite is "Cry Little Sister." There is just something about it I find haunting. The 13 series has really great covers. Nice list!

And I love that you included Kelley Armstrong even though I haven't read that particular book. I need to read more of her work because it's atmospheric and I love that during Halloween-time!!

  21. This is my favorite holiday, so I'm taking notes! I was looking for a good book on Audible to listen to while at the gym. I went with a Ruth Ware book...a spooky tale about a writer who goes to the woods for a weekend that goes wrong... I'm more into Alfred Hitchcock type of scary than the graphic stuff that passes for horror these days!

  22. I haven't read any of the books on your list, but I've been eyeing Nightstruck! :)

  28. I love The Lost Boys soundtrack. When I used to set up a haunted porch for the trick-or-treaters I played the soundtrack to the Tombraider video game. It was perfect, ha ha. :)
