Top Ten Books I'd Buy With a Gift Card
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back to The Broke and the Bookish so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.
This week's topic is Ten Books I'd Buy Right Now If Someone Handed You a Fully Loaded Gift Card
Wow that's a mouthful. Anyway interesting topic- it didn't take me long to think of ten (or more) books I'd snap up in a heartbeat. It also helped me clarify my TBR a bit as I tend not to plan too far ahead what I'll be reading, since I am a mood reader. So here are my picks.
Even though I've heard mixed things (and it's early yet) I'm still looking forward to this one almost solely on the strength of Big Little Lies.
I still haven't read this one yet.
Love this cover.
Yeah I know, I've had this on my blog forever as coming soon, but I just haven't had the chance to get it or read it yet. Hopefully by the end of summer I'll get to it.
Looking forward to this one a lot.
the new Lauren Oliver. Nuff said.
The Immortals was a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to this one as well.
Judging from the synopsis I'm going to like this book a lot.
Lara Croft meets Indiana Jones? Okay. Sold.
This looks fun- the movie just came out and it kinda reminds me of The Game.

What a cool post! A lot of these are on my TBR. I've yet to read a Lauren Oliver but I've just received an ARC of Replica so I'll be picking that one up soon - I love the concept.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've read Panic by Lauren Oliver and liked it, so I'm ready for her new one. I hope you like Replica- I'm looking forward to that one too.
DeleteThese are startlingly beautiful covers.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'd be thrilled with any random books from my wish list. Or any random books.
Gift cards are lovely.
Here's my Top Ten!
True- I'll take any books lol. Or at least ones from my wish list.
DeleteI was one of the ones that added to the mixed reviews for Moriarty's latest. I just wasn't super happy with it. I am super excited for Replica though!
ReplyDeleteI think I read your review, and I remember you saying you loved Big Little Lies (I did too) so I'll make sure to go in with my expectations in check. If I'm expecting BLL again i'll probably be disappointed. :)
DeleteI haven't read any of these yet but am definitely looking forward to many of them, especially Replica.
ReplyDeleteYeah Replica looks good, and has an intriguing premise (and layout too apparently- the experimental way she's doing the story has me really curious)!
DeleteThose books are all new to me. I'm a fan of mythology, so I'll be adding The Immortals to my Wishlist. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteOh I liked The Immortals- I hope you get a chance to read it.
DeleteI want to read the Moriarty but I'm thinking I'm going to start with Big Little Lies. Starflight and Incident on the Bridge are both calling to me.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely start with Big Little Lies. It's a hoot and I laughed so much- even though it does tackle heavier themes, but it's not a heavy book. The enxt book by her that I read- The Husband's secret- was good but I didn't like it as much. Big Little Lies is just so good.
DeleteWow, I didn't realize that Nerve was actually a book! To tell the truth, pretty annoyed that EVERY YouTube ad is the Nerve movie, and you can't even skip it!!! Oh well, when they movie comes out, hopefully I will never have to see it again! ;) My Top Ten Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteHa ha I didn't even know Nerve existed (book OR movie) until about a week or so ago. I stumbled across the trailer, saw it was an adaptation, and yes now I'm seeing it everywhere. I hate being inundated... ads are the worst, especially when you see them over and over...
DeleteI want all of these! I love the covers for Starflight and Starfall.
ReplyDeleteI love those too! Starfall especially I think I would buy just for the cover!
DeleteVicarious is on my TBR too!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/02/top-ten-tuesday-68/
I am looking forward to that one. I'm finally going to read Paula Stokes and that one I may read as soon as it comes out.
DeleteStarflight and Vicarious are both on my tbr. The trailer for Nerve looks good - and makes me definitely want to try the book. You definitely sold me on The Smoke Hunter.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog earlier!
I just saw The Smoke Hunter on someone else's blog I think last week! lol yeah I'm intrigued by Nerve- I want to see the movie. Vicarious I'm pretty keen for too...
DeleteI've been seeing Starflight all over these Top Ten Tuesday lists. I think it means I need to look into it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a gift card soon or find some cash in your pocket!
I love book gift cards, like my favorite gift. lol anything that helps me buy more books! Starflight does seem popular, i need to get to it.
DeleteOh yes to Replica. I have heard GREAT things about that one!! I can't wait!! I also want the Liane Moriarty one. I love her books.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty excited for Replica and since I don't do ARC's I have to wait a bit for it, but I think it will be good.
DeleteVicarious has gotten some positive buzz around the blogosphere which is making me very curious. I just saw Dead Girls Society on NetGalley and almost requested it, but I'm limiting my requests until after I take care of the ones I have. Nice list!
ReplyDeleteI hear you. It's easy to request away. I avoid ARC's but am seriously thinking of getting on Netgalley... I want to read Dead Girls Society like right now! And Vicarious too, I saw an interview w/ Paula Stokes and that one sounds really good.
DeleteThanks, hope you have a good Tuesday. :)
ReplyDeleteStarflight is one I really want to read too! I also must read some more Lauren Oliver - I only read one of her books so far but I loved it! Oh to have an unlimited gift card :D
ReplyDeleteI've only read one Lauren oliver book too but I liked it. And Replica sounds so different- looking forward to it!
DeleteSame to you!
ReplyDeleteI'd ignore all the mixed reviews and buy Truly Madly Deeply too. I've read lots of Liane Moriarty books lately and enjoyed them all.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Lauren Oliver book as I love her lyrical writing.
Nice list Greg!
I really want Starflight from this list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping at our TTT today!
Great list! I want to read Starflight, Nerve, Dead Girls Society, and I really need to try a Liane Moriarty book. I hope you get these soon and love them! :D
ReplyDeleteOh Big Little Lies is a riot, you should read it, would be curious to see what you think!
DeleteSoooooo excited for Starfall and Replica!
ReplyDeleteReplica looks awesome! It's been quite some time since I read one of Lauren Oliver's books; I think the last one was the finale to the Delirium series. I'm definitely overdue to read something by her!
ReplyDeleteThere are some great books on this list! I am really interested in Replica, Vicarious, Starflight, and Starfall, can't wait to hear what you think.
ReplyDeleteHi Greg! Gosh, this is a very diverse selection. AND I actually want to read a few:Dead Girls Society, the new Liane Moriarty one and The incident on the bridge. Here's my TTT spending spree: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/08/top-ten-tuesday-ten-books-ive-bought.html
ReplyDeleteI'll be adding The Immortals to my Wishlist. Thanks for the recommendation Sakura Beauty
ReplyDeleteLove the Landers' covers! A beautiful space cover always sucks me in. I also like the idea behind Lauren Oliver's new book. I'm interested to hear your thoughts once you read it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by The Local Muse
That cover of Starfall is just amazing. I would almost read it for that alone. :) And I am looking forward to Replica...
DeleteI would buy Starflight, Starfall, and Nerve as well! I've read Melissa Landers' other YA sci-fi series and really liked it, and I need to get around to reading it! I just watched Nerve in theaters two days ago and really liked it. I want to read Nerve really soon so that I can compare the two. Great list Greg!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Nerve, I was hoping it would be good. I definitely want to read it and compare with the movie. :)
DeleteI have the ARC of Replica, but I haven't managed to read it yet - the concept of that book sounds so interesting to me!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Truly Madly Guilty, but it is a bit slow in parts. Still, overall a great book.
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I agree- the layout of Replica and how she is telling the story just sounds so interesting. I haven't seen it yet but I read an interview with her and now I'm really curious!
DeleteAnd that's good to know about Moriarty's latest. I've seen a few mixed reviews and wondered if she went to the well one too many times with her story structure, but I'm still keen to read it.
Oooh, Winter of the Gods is one that I'm SO excited for. I loved the first book. I can't remember when it's coming out but I fear it's a long way off. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI loved Starflight! Vicarious was really good too. Starfall is quite possibly my most anticipated 2017 publication. Why is it not here yet!? :D
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Totally agree with you about Replica! Lauren Oliver could publish a pamphlet about brushing her teeth and I'd buy it so, there's that. I really want to read Vicarious and Starflight/Starfall too- those covers are amazing! Dead Girl's Society looks good too- and I still look forward to the verdict on The Incident on the Bridge ;) Great choices!
ReplyDeleteWinter of the Gods appeals to me somehow. Replica has an interesting set up if I remember from hearing about it a few months ago. I haven't read a book by this author though so I'm not sure if I'm interested in it.
ReplyDeleteI saw The Dead Girls Society on Twitter a couple of weeks ago and I loved the cover, so I went to Goodreads to check it out and I got sidetracked by notifications and forgot to put it on my TBR, so I am happy you posted about it and it joggled my memory. I went and added it and came back, so it is on there now!
ReplyDeleteI've heard Melissa Landers books are really good though I've yet to read them. So many books, so little time. Or that's what I deal with. :) Either way, the covers are epic!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Greg.
