Bookcover Spotlight #20

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

I love this cover for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's an older one obviously, and there have been a lot of covers for this one over the years, but I think this one captures the old school adventure feel nicely. The romantic notion of Captain Nemo and his life under the sea, in a self sufficient submarine- good stuff. I only read the book recently, and while I didn't love it, the concept has always appealed to me. I've always been captivated by the Nautilus...

  1. Nice book cover!! You mentioned not enjoying 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne... I was totally enthralled with it. I've read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea twice.... If I had the time, I'd reread it again.

  2. I love older covers! It definitely looks vintage-y and like the story is full of adventure. This is actually on my TBR list. Somehow I've never read it but I'd like too. I think it would be a good audio.

  3. I love these older covers. The book covers now are over photoshopped or they use stock images that are used by multiple authors. These classic covers have originality and stand out. Great choice for this week =)
