Sunday Post #93

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This has been a good week, quiet for the most part. I'm still reading this but I'll be done this weekend and my thoughts will be up on Tuesday. I like it so far- it's very atmospheric.  It's been an interesting week weather wise- cool in the mornings and towards the end of the week it got hot. It's been cool this weekend but we're warming up again next week.

  1. I haven't watched Wayward Pines yet but I have all 3 (or 2?) episodes recorded. It does look good so I'm glad to hear it lives up to that. I love the new books you've got! Ellery Adams, Kate Parker and Tasha Alexander are all authors I really want to read. Have a great week!

  2. I read and reviewed all 3 Wayward Pines books and so far, I'm enjoying the show. There are changes of course but they've kept the mystery and suspense so far.

    1. Hmm, I may have to check out your reviews, I'm way curious. I liked Juliette Lewis, surprised to see her in it, and surprised too that she... didn't last. I love the mysterious nature of it, even though I spoiled myself inadvertently.

  3. I'm going to have to check out 3 Wayward Pines...I am anticipating more Netflix viewing now that I have a Blu Ray player with live streaming available.

I am still watching Breaking Bad....

Loved The Breakfast Club...I have the DVD.

    1. I have really taken to Netflix since adding it a few months ago- I don't have cable so it's a way for me to see things I otherwise wouldn;t.

Breakfast Club is great- an old favorite. :)

  4. Wayward Pines hasn't made it here to Australia next, though Netflix has arrived!

Keen to hear what you've thought of A School for Unusual Girls when you've finished it.

  6. I haven't watched the latest season of Game of thrones, I'm not looking at any spoiler ;) That Avengers clip is so very funny ! I've just told my boyfriend that I've never watched any Mad Max (just the Tina Turner Thunderdome clip), he couldn't believe it so now he's hellbent on making me watch the first, lol. Anyway, have a great week, Greg !

  13. The Ellery Adams and Kate Parker series look awesome..leave it to you to find some bookshop mysteries from two different eras, lol. Any chance of more indie bookstore features this summer--roadtrip maybe? :)
I saw the original Mad Max back in the day. Oh, you reminded me of Breakfast Club-- I love that movie and that closing credit song! Have a great week, Greg!

    1. That's funny... I had not thought of that, about the bookstores! :)

You know, i really liked doing the bookstore spotlights last year, and I've thougt about doing more. I have a few possibilities in mind... hopefully I can get out and to them this summer. It's nice to hear that they were well received, thank you. :)

  16. I have to tell my daughter about the Mako Mermaids and that Avengers clip was funny!! My husband wants to watch Mad Max so I'm glad to hear you liked it. We were fans of the original movies so I wasn't sure about this one. They can't do a remake of Point Break!! I hate how Hollywood is doing remakes! Have a great week and I look forward to your review of A School for Unusual Girls.

    1. I'm liking it so far, and look forward to reviewing it. Some books review easier than others and I think this one will be fun to summarize. The LAdy Emily books are good, some better than others- I like Behind The Shattered Glass, myself even though it's like the eighth one. But the first one is quite good too.

  19. The title of A School for Unusual Girls sure catches the eye... had to head over to goodreads and see what it's all about. Sounds like it could be fun!

We were in the upper 80s yesterday and now 50s with rain. Crazy! I'm making some soup to help warm up. Have a good week :)

  22. I can't wait to read your thoughts on Tomorrowland.

It's been very toasty around here. It's crazy when you have to turn on the AC in May!!

    1. I'm really liking Unuusal Girls, my thoguhts will be up on Tuesday. At this point I like it a lot. It's historical fiction lite, YA focus, but very readable- flows along nicely. I'm enjoying it- and it's funny at times too.

I still need to see Tomorrowland, this week sometime since I want to review it by Friday. :)

  26. My mom loves cozy-mysteries, and she is always trying to get me hooked on them. The ones in this post look really cute. I just picked up a used copy of one of the books in the Jane Austen mystery series, where Jane is a detective. I'm looking forward to reading it soon.

  27. I'm still debating if I'm going to go see Mad Max or not. I didn't really like the original movie, which feel like some sort of sacrilege at this point. :p I need to work on catching up on Game of Thrones, I'm still far behind...but only by a season now.

  30. A School for Unusual Girls really piqued my attention when it popped up on NetGalley, but sadly, I didn't get approved - and although I've requested it THREE TIMES, my library hasn't bought it yet. I look forward to your review! I also want to read the new Tasha Alexander, although I'm still catching up on the past ones. Have a great week with all those great new books!
